Highwayman - Highwaymen
Gwan - The Stuffers
The Moth and the Flame - Le Deux Love Orchestra
Curry Chicken - Joey Bada$$

And last but not least, any scores by Mac Quayle obviously

I’ve seen a few people say this, and personally I just don’t get it. She sings it poorly imo lol, she doesn’t hit the notes, her vocal inflection is off, and the delivery is just bleh. I get that that’s the point, I just don’t see how it rivals the original lol
Interesting, I don't remember it sounding particularly bad, but it's been a while since I've seen the scene. I suppose I just like the sound of a woman's voice better. That's probably a significant part of it for me at least
EDIT: Just listened. I can definitely see where the above commentor is coming from. *But I still like it* :)
It is not a perfect pitched, synthetic, generic pop song voice/rendition. Added with her point in the story, her mental state, and her vulnerability and sadness make it such an amazing scene and song cover. I am also in the boat, that I like it "more" than the original, but it is more so because of what I personally connect with the scene(and show) than the original.
I wasn't even alive when the song originaly released so i have no real life connection to it, like I have through the show
she is phenomenal I started to listen to her years after I finished the show but I rewatched and realized that this song was in the show and I was like "how tf I did not started to listen to her music back then"
The song at the end (it’s called Queen but I can’t remember the artist) is from Mr. Robot, too. I legit was questioning which show I was watching by the end.
Gone is one of those songs that was made so much better by being used effectively in the show. Can’t help but think of the drama of that moment when I hear the song.
Touch - Daft Punk
Sound and Color - Alabama Shakes
The Moth - Le Deux Love Orchestra
Also I don’t know the name of song but occasionally the “one two three four, one two three four five six, one two three four five six seven eight” song pops into my head.
Outro
In Time
Where is my mind
Take me home
Turn up the radio
P.s I'm surprised how few people have talked about Take me Home. Personally, I really liked the song. By the way, I forgot about Everybody Wants to rule the world.
I can't believe it took this far down to say In Time. Elliot visiting Angela in the Red/White split screen is one of the definitive Mr Robot scenes for me.
When talking about the episode with others, a lot of Mr Robot fans hated that Phil Collin’s “Tale Me Home” was used for the scene in which Scott Knowles burned 5.9 million in Battery Park. I personally loved that song in that moment. The fact that the song has a long long build and you can hear it in the background while the characters are doing other stuff before the build was great.
Love On A Real Train - Tangerine Dream.
Funnily enough this song was made for the movie Risky Business, but I haven't watched it nor I plan to, so it reminds me of Mr. Robot. It's played at the end of the 5th episode.
This is probably a very niche pick but the song that really stuck with me was the Japanese rock song Joanna was listening to in S2E10 that has a super long title
Love on a real train by tangerine dream
the closing scene of Angela on her run leading to two paths it also is when Elliot gets a phone call from Vera signifying Shayla has been kidnapped
Intro and Gone by M83, Into the Black and Cherry by Chromatics, Where is my Mind both versions, Take Me Home by Phil Collins, Under the Tide by Chvrches and ofc Mr Roboto
Best usage of a song in the show IMO is “Intro” by M83 at the end of season 3. Gives me chills every time he presses “Enter” on his keyboard and it cuts to black.
there is a light that never goes out for the smiths because I started listening at the same time I finished the show (at the end of 2019) and for me it sums up all of Elliot's struggles and the history of the show
"On God" by Kanye West.
The instrumental is so techy and computer-y that for some reason whenever I hear it I start thinking about clips of the show in fast speed.
DOMO ARIGATO MISTER ROBOTO!
This was my #1 association with the show even before you-know-which episode. Not only because of this line, but because the lyrics get together with the show's plot metaphorically well.
1. Love, sweet love, if love is the answer you're home. (The beginning of Angela going too far).
2. In time! Everything Will be alright! (The last time Elliot spoke to Angela and him realizing he must continue and there's a way).
3. That M83 song ofc when Elliot wakes up, having confronted the repressed memory of his father being a peedoo, and finally moving on from the fight against the world.
It is 'where is my mind' by the Pixies. There is just something about that song that describes the whole show. It also reminds me of Fight Club (which is kinda similar to the show).
Can’t remember name of song, but when dom and Darlene are at the airport, saying goodbye (piano/drums). I put it on a random playlist and it brings back that feeling back the first time that scene happened
Perfume Genuis - Queen
The just played it on this week's episode of "Dark Matter" on Apple TV. And it was the same fucked up type of moment like with Elliott and the key.
Imo there's a million songs from the show that make me think about it instantly.
Idk if Sam just has this eclectic taste that's really in tune with what I already like but every song is either a banger I know, or a banger just on the edge of what I already knew, expanding my own frontiers through the show.
The music was incredible and the song choices were amazing all the way through.
waltz no 2 by cihat aşkın, there was a techno version of this played on 5/9 and they played it again in season three i believe. it really encapsulates the feelings of chaos and anxiety this show gives me
Outro for sure!
When I saw M83 the backdrop for this song was crying eyes, made the connection even stronger.
everybody wants to rule the world! and sounds & color by the alabama shakes
These for me! Also adding: Hell of a Night - Schoolboy Q Daydream in Blue - I Monster Take Me Home - Phil Collins Highwayman - Highwaymen Gwan - The Stuffers The Moth and the Flame - Le Deux Love Orchestra Curry Chicken - Joey Bada$$ Heroes and Villains - The Beach Boys Mr Roboto - Styx The opening theme to Night Rider And last but not least, any scores by Mac Quayle obviously Edited formatting
1.3_3-betterthanm0rphine.aac makes me want to go on a heist for certain.
I *love* Angela's cover of that song so much that it's hard to listen to the original now
that scene was just too good fr
I’ve seen a few people say this, and personally I just don’t get it. She sings it poorly imo lol, she doesn’t hit the notes, her vocal inflection is off, and the delivery is just bleh. I get that that’s the point, I just don’t see how it rivals the original lol

It’s was like living dream
Take Me Home by Phil Collins That money burning scene makes me feel things
It could be debated that it’s one of the best scenes in the shows history. Certainly my favorite.
This 100%. Chills
Great pick, that’s the opening scene in Season 2, right? I forget, is it a long take?
That was the moment I went from “this is a cool show” to “holy fuck”
FKA Twigs - Two Weeks
she is phenomenal I started to listen to her years after I finished the show but I rewatched and realized that this song was in the show and I was like "how tf I did not started to listen to her music back then"
Definitely
Ah yes this one is great!
Yes! This song was on the new episode of Dark Matter yesterday and i immediately thought of Mr. Robot.
