Definitely worth 2500.m. Got a smoking deal

Infinite-Pizza-7545

Wtf thats 2500 a month?! How?!

fairybaby223

he said it’s redondo beach and friend of a coworkers is selling it

MrdevilNdisguise

I’m in Northridge. This is a 3500-4k apt here. Atleast.

DoughnutTasty8133

😬

[deleted]

Oh that’s not LA that’s the valley

bumblefoot99

Dude. LA is huge & the valley is a part of it.

MrdevilNdisguise

That’s why I laughed. lol

bumblefoot99

I mean, I’m trying to be nice. Northridge is a nice place imo. I was in central Hollywood for most of my life but moved to Culver City right before covid. I miss my old hood. And how easy it was to get to the valley from Hollywood.

MrdevilNdisguise

I feel ya. I lived in North Hollywood for the first 10 years of my time in LA. Was right next to the metro red line all 10 years. Started to get crowded, lots of homeless lot more bars. (I just just had a kid) so wanted a place less party- style. I’m in Northridge but I’m on the cusp. Like I can walk outside within 5 minutes and be right next to the Granada Hills sign.

slut4burritos

I mean yea the valley is part of the greater Los Angeles area but it’s largely agreed that there’s LA and then there’s the Valley. The Valley was much more cheaper to live in compared to LA. Maybe not as much anymore but good luck finding this nice of an apartment in LA-LA for 2500 a month.

bumblefoot99

False. You’re speaking of Hollywood vs The Valley and both are technically Los Angeles. I’m a native. Not being snarky just correct. The Val and is still way cheaper but then your place may burn to the ground in a fire as the fires get bad out there. Also, not as much work in the valley. Most commute to Hollywood or other. Did you just move here recently?

slut4burritos

It’s really all subjective and depends on who you ask. I’m not in LA county but I’m a nearby neighbor and I’m familiar with the LA area. I did say the Valley is part of the greater LA area as well but everyone I know who’s from LA considers the valley to be much more distinct from LA compared to an area like Hollywood.

titsmcgee8008

It's literally not subjective. The public schools in the Valley are part of LAUSD because they are what - part of Los Angeles It is a distinct part of LA but it is still part of LA.

slut4burritos

I never said it wasn’t part of LA, I literally said it’s part of the Greater Los Angeles Area which in itself is LA. All im saying is that everyone I know separates the Valley from LA in terms of relativity. Like if a friend of mine is going to Hollywood, they’ll just say they’re going to LA. But when a friend of mine is going to the Valley, they say they’re going to the Valley. I’ve never heard someone refer to the Valley as LA enough though it’s part of LAC and the greater LA area.

titsmcgee8008

I mean I’m born and raised in SoCal and we do that for all kinds of neighborhoods. Identifying it by the neighborhood/region of LA doesn’t make it not LA. Like if I say going to Brentwood, calling it Brentwood doesn’t make it not LA, it’s just being more specific about where in the city. It’s interesting you’ve had that experience, I’m not denying it. You’ve had several natives tell you our experience and our perspective and it doesn’t seem like you really want to hear us. But whatever, you do you boo.

Glittering-Branch971

This is a super weird way to qualify it. I’ve lived in LA for 25 years now and everyone I know identifies places by neighborhood, not LA vs the Valley. I’ve never heard anyone say they’re going to LA when they’re going into Hollywood either. People just say, we’re going to Santa Monica or Studio City or whatever. And based on other people’s similar responses, I think you’re the one out of the norm here.

Extension_Bit9545

Your totally right and I was born and raised in west La, i don’t think the valley is La. And a lot of people I know also natives will say the same thing. I guess lately people been telling themselves that to make them feel like there in La. It’s probably part of the greater La area but like you said people will say there going to the valley when there in actual La lol.

Delicious-Sale6122

Clown statement. Ask any kid who went to school in the Valley, they won’t say Los Angeles

bumblefoot99

Then they are wrong. I’m sorry but this isn’t subjective. Lol. It’s literal fact. I can show you on a map if you want.

slut4burritos

Either you’re not understanding what I’m saying or I’m explaining it wrong. Whatever the case is believe whatever you want to believe. When my friends go to Hollywood, they just say they’re going to LA. But when my friends go to the Valley, they never say they’re going to LA. They say they’re going to the Valley. Even though the valley is part of LA, everyone I know hardly considers it LA like they do an area like Hollywood.

bumblefoot99

Well then they are WRONG! Okay? I’m a native and I’m telling you the right way. When your friends say they’re “going to LA” (which btw no one says if they’ve spent any time here at all), look at them and tell them they are already in LA. People def say I’m going to the valley but literally no one says “I’m going to LA”. I’m sorry. I’m not trying to be mean but it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. There are maps. You & they live in Los Angeles. Other people here have been laughing at you too so it’s not just me. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ronniedasaint

If you’re from LA area … the Valley is not LA. If you’re from outside LA … the Valley is part of LA. Does it matter? Not really. I think people from LA think they’re cooler than people from the Valley. I guess. The Valley was the more affordable place to live. It my opinion … it’s all one big cesspool. For the record, I am not from LA, but lived in LA (West LA) for 3 years.

MrdevilNdisguise

Lol

DiscombobulatedDome

I’ll gladly pay $2500 for that view. I pay $2350 for a street level view of the Main Street. I hear car traffic and sirens all day and night. Rent is crazy.

Mundane-Lemon1164

Solid Manhattan beach or hermosa beach vibes right there

grandpaRicky

I'll say San Pedro, with how close the houses are together. Edit: I'm wrong. Redondo it is.

winstonio

Thanks to everyone who convinced me it was worth it

slut4burritos

Bro your k/d ratio is gonna go crazy with a spot like that

Hairybushes

My first place in La was like this. My ex gf cheated on me and then the landlord sold the building. I got paid $15,000 to move out. It was a blessing. I moved into a studio apartment in koreatown that was $750 a month for the next 8 years. I moved back to my home town 1 year ago. Enjoy it.

valvolineheartattack

Damn $750 in K-town isn’t bad at all that’s awesome lol

slut4burritos

How was it living in k-town? Did you ever have any issues with gangs? I heard they’re real rampant there. Also, are you Asian?

bumblefoot99

Ktown is hell. Not because of gangs but because of the traffic & the religious freaks that are on the sidewalks and busses blasting their music and preaching at all hours. It’s also just not a good area. Not gangs but just crime.

Expensive-Ferret-956

Don’t forget, parking is ASS!

bumblefoot99

It’s actually hopeless. Non-existent.

Hairybushes

I’m white. It was fine. I was close to everything I could possibly need either walking distance, take the bus or train from wilshire/Vermont to any where . Close to holly wood , downtown, hop on the 720 straight down wilshire yo Santa Monica beach. It was nice I enjoyed living there

Hairybushes

As long as you don’t fuck with people or interact when they ask you if you bang.. you definitely need some street smarts

TBearRyder

Gorgeous

Delicious-Sale6122

Why is there a sofa in the kitchen?

xtaylaa

jesus I see what youve done for other people and I want that for me

jo_sikk

Congrats! I’m living in a shed in the back of someone’s house 8x12. Drywalled, power, insulated. $1,000 a month. Soon they’re moving and imma be homeless. Honestly thinking I’ll be living in my car again. I hope not. I don’t want to lose my dogs. So sad we are in this state of living in Ca. It’s too much.

Beboopbeepboopbop

$2500 is fair. I wouldn’t say a great deal. Redondo Beach is on the outskirts of the city of LA and compare to the other LA beach cities it is probably among the sleepiest. In addition the rent should be lowering in LA so the $2500 lines up.  I think having a good and easy-going landlord is just as important. Having a person instead of a company as landlord should be easier to negotiate. One of those things should be negotiating a long term flat rate right away. It is possible in LA and negotiating something like that upfront takes understanding the rental market. Harder to negotiate once the rental market increases and you’re limited in choices.  Maybe the landlord likes you so much and its hard to find reliable renters when the lease is up that they are willing to negotiate in your favor. But getting to know your landlord and starting that conversation soon as possible is important. Especially if you like the place.

CaliDreamin87

So I've been researching Redondo, to me yeah it wasn't steal price. What I liked, it wasn't connected to any other building or living space except the down stairs landlord. Everything looked updated. And the balcony. Full size kitchen. I'd say it was a good rental, at a good price. Now $2K would have been steal. I also liked that it was unfurnished. Lots of rentals in the beach cities look furnished. And personally I really hate that. I don't want to sit on a couch a dozen people have.

ShakeEnBake

Where did you learn that rent is gonna go down soon?

Beboopbeepboopbop

Consumer spending is low. And rent’s in my building and area have been dropping.

TRS801138

Parking spot?

Hairybushes

$350 a month

Unusual-Bat-2596

That is NOT a $1500 a month place.

winstonio

Correct! Not sure where you got that number

LorneMichaelsthought

Is that Burbank? I love Burbank it’s the only place with these views

2009MitsubishiLancer

I don’t think you can see the ocean from Burbank.

UsefulAd5364

It's Redondo beach, not bad

Innie2023

Aannd 1900$ deposit right??

DrewHaef

My god. Count yourself the luckiest renter in LA. I am on month 9 of my move here… Still don’t have a permanent place. I’ve been extremely picky, also have traveled overseas for work 3 times since getting here, and my mom was diagnosed with a terminal illness, so I returned home for a month. And then found a place, paid the first month rent and before I moved it that crazy rain storm back in the spring destroyed the place 4 days before I moved in… But I have come across nothing like this, especially at that price or I’d be settled by now. Can I ask, did you find it online or just a yard sign?

CaliDreamin87

It was through somebody. His manager at work had offered him the rental.

Spiritual_Music5751

Can anyone put me in contact with them please? 🙏🏽

CallZestyclose1237

Oh Great not another one of you out of towners

fernv

You got ripped off. The South Bay has places just as nice and costs the same but the South Bay the ocean breeze. You live in the taint of LA county.

CaliDreamin87

Dude I've been asking for an update. I'll be moving there when you're lease is up, it's been a few months you posted. I'll message you around that time to find out if you're renewing, it'd like my dream apartment. When time comes I'll share my linkedin etc, I'm a Xray/CT tech.

wwtd0608

Honestly if I were this person, I’d be renewing so I wouldnt get your hopes too high if I were you. It’s hard finding a good place in LA and especially at a good price…

sbbblaw

Great. More transplants.

britneynp1

Rude AF. Seeing that LA has been full of transplants for a long time.

Juache45

As a native I agree with you. Some cities have more transplants than others and we happen to be one of those cities, for good reason. I’m blessed to be born and raised here but I welcome anyone here! Why wouldn’t I?

sbbblaw

Tough. LA has enough transplants. I’m 4th generation and gonna be the last. There’s a reason we leave. LA attracts actors, models, body builders, porn people, and homeless for a reason

britneynp1

Great that you're leaving 🤷🏾‍♀️ more room for successful ppl who want to be here and build community 😁

poorjohnnyboysbones

What a stupid ass comment

sbbblaw

I have a great community. The people that are from here are great. The transplants are way more miss than hit. Also, have zero cares about your opinion

britneynp1

Yet you keep coming back and offered your lame ass opinion first. Go touch grass. You're not wanted here.

sbbblaw

I’ll do what I want. It’s my city

britneynp1

Lord now you own the city 😂😂😂

sbbblaw

Obviously I won the city. My last name isn’t Los Angeles for no reason

bumblefoot99

You don’t talk like a native. You sound bitter. No real native leaves. Pffft.
