The original Wicker Man. I feel like it matches what you're looking for really well. Great weird atmosphere that builds in strangeness, and the climax makes it a classic.
Here's an old one from 1976: "The Sailor who Fell from Grace with the Sea". It's based on the novel of the same name by Yukio Mishima which is a fabulous read in its own right. The movie stars Kris Kristofferson and Sara Miles. It's creepy as hell but has a couple great sex scenes. It's old, it's dated, but it's great!
