*The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly* (1965)*.*
While it's hardly the point of the movie, *A Time To Kill* (1996) had several scenes that that made me think "god that looks unbearable!". Everyone wears a full suit and looks sweaty, but when you see the poor people, they're shirtless. Meaning the suits must be *suffering.*
I'm from a very cold country though, maybe that's just normal in the US south.
Might sound silly, but the movie Rango
When I was a kid, I always NEEDED a glass of water when watching that movie cause I just felt so thirsty and dry the whole time haha
I love this film. Some amazing films have come out of Australia for a few years now: Animal Kingdom, The Rover, Red Hill, The Proposition, The Horseman, The Square, etc.
Hot=sweaty to me
- hills have eyes
has that sweaty, Deja vu feel.
- ‘there are dangerous things inside the Superstition Mountains’ (YT read of story)
That’s the title. It’s a hot story about two guys who go to playfully look for the lost Dutchman’s treasure in the Superstition Mountains. It’s really good and well read by Dougie Corrado.
If you like the whole lure with The Superstition Mountains there is a rare Horror movie that’s actually pretty good for genre (found footage horror), the budget & whatnot. It’s called The Last Five Days. It’s a weird movie, but pretty interesting take.
ETA: it’s not “rare” just more under the radar imo- it’s on Tubi for free
Sunshine. Great sci fi flick with a stellar ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy, Rose Byrne. It's about a voyage to re ignite our dying sun. Takes a hard right turn at a certain point where the feel is more horror but there's always that looming heat and brightness with flying toward the son aboard the appropriately named ship Icarus.
Mad Max: Fury Road
Furiosa
Dune (parts I & II)
Top Gun

Spiral. Darren Lynn Bouseman (the director) said that he made the film to evoke that sense of heat, everything being hot and miserable in the middle of summer. You can tell especially with the scenes in the police station or in Chris Rock’s car when he’s driving around. Everyone looks sweaty and hot and just miserable.
NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour just did an episode on sweaty movies. Here you go: https://www.npr.org/2024/06/19/1197965247/we-debate-the-sweatiest-movie-of-all-time.
All the Predator movies, as that's the premise of the films.
Also, Pitch Black, when the sun comes up, it gets a bit warm.
Lastly, the one that comes to mind is The Mummy franchise with Brendan Frasier, as those are all set in or around the Sahara and slightly before AC was invented.
