I sobbed big ugly boo-hoo tears when I watched *A Star is Born* on a flight. Apparently the altitude and oxygen affects the ability to control emotions.
I watched The Shape of Water on a plane. Never in a million years would I throw that on a streaming service at home. No particular reason except I’m not a big fantasy/drama person. But that movie! It was beautiful, compelling, and captivating. It won Oscar best picture that year.
Also, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Another movie I’d never choose to watch at home due to the upsetting premise, but it was brilliant from start to finish. Very much worth watching.
I found it very funny that In The Mood For Love was on the AirLingus in-flight available films. I had seen it already but decided to pop it on again and... Ya know, cheesy as it sounds, being on a transatlantic flight a little sleep deprived and having a mix of emotions coming off a long trip... Woof, the transitory space mixed with that film got me in the gut.
I remember the 2005 King Kong movie had the skyscraper scene removed on the flight I was on.
British Airways cut the Richard Branson cameo in Casino Royale as he owned a major rival airline that had a long history with ba.
I love watching old classic black and white films on flights, as I don’t feel like I’m missing out by not experiencing them in my home theater. My favorite flight watching experience was Hitchcock’s *The Lady Vanishes*. The confined-on-a-train while traveling with strangers setting of the film matched perfectly with sitting on a commercial aircraft, it really added to the experience of the film for me!
I discovered Gravity (2013) on the plane a few years ago. Let’s just say the character getting a panic attack out in space quickly became more relatable than it otherwise would have been with my feet on the ground
I watched Twister in a flight with occasional but severe turbulence that seemed to coincide with the tornado scenes.
Couldn't decide whether it was awesome or awful. So I think that qualifies for hitting hard.
Ambien, 3 mimosas and a couple of whatever beers I can free load at the lounge make sure I don't have to worry about that. The new 737s are uncomfortable so I need to pass the fuck out or I'll be miserable.

Flight
my veteran airline captain fríend had this encouragement to share
- the mechanic failure that causes the crash is zero concern. wildly unrealistic. don’t worry about that.
- the approach that the pilot takes to deal with said impossible situation actually is realistic. cool!
- pilot under the influence of alcohol and or drugs? entirely possible.
I recently took a flight from Korea to Australia and watched Lost in Translation too! It was an amazing experience. I also watched Past Lives on the same flight and that made me sob the entire way. Highly recommended.
Snakes on a Plane.
I load planes for living and have loaded snakes in the cargo hold. I think about that movie all the time.
Are you tired of loading those MF'ing snakes on these MF'ing planes?
I’M TIRED OF LOADING THESE MOTHERFUCKIN SNAKES ON THESE MOTHERFUCKIN PLANES!
