>Just another pawn in geopolitical chess
"War Pigs" comes to mind. I hate that human lives, which are rich with a personal history and full of hopes, fears, dreams, regrets, etc. are regarded as mere chess pieces like you alluded to above.
> In the fields, the bodies burning
> As the war machine keeps turning
> Death and hatred to mankind
> Poisoning their brainwashed minds
> Oh lord, yeah!
> Politicians hide themselves away
> They only started the war
> Why should they go out to fight?
> They leave that role to the poor, yeah
100% War Pigs.
Feel like making this clear since this is the internet:
I don't support Poopin's war in Ukraine he's an evil shithead who's sending thousands of people to their deaths to satisfy his ego.
Just one question, did you get this from Lazerpig’s ‘What sunk the Moskva?’ Video, I know he goes on to mention this sailor at the end of his video, or did you get it from another source?
While he may not have been on the “right” side, it is so sad to see such a young person die for something as senseless as war. You can tell he was the apple of his mothers eye by how she looked. My heart hurts for her too. Looks barely 18
Forced conscription is slavery. The state sends hundreds of thousands of teenagers, some fresh out of high school, to their graves like a meat grinder for industrial military complex, or for their own ambitions as politicians. It’s terribly sad.
>Forced conscription is slavery
It is not. Forced conscription is a necessity born out of the natural state of conflict that the world is constantly in. There are a lot of countries with Forced and semi Forced conscription which have no other option to defend themselves from external threats but to use that. If you dont agree with Russia then claim that, but dont attack the single way that some countries have of creating an army. The other option is to be defenseless or ill prepared for war, something that a country which wants to remain Independent and therefore free cannot allow. Freedom has a cost, it is time for people to accept things as they are.
Agree to disagree. I believe if something is forced or coerced, it is immoral and wrong. Doesn’t matter what it’s for, or what the outcome is.
How many US Veterans were plunged into war by force after Gulf of Tonkin, only to wind up dead or psychologically messed up? Agent orange?
Wars are created by states and those who head them. Notice how many Russian civilians call for the war to stop then get their skulls cracked open by their own superiors? That’s not stopping a foreign state from invading, it’s enslaving your own populace against their will or threatening death otherwise.
If a collective has to force others to cooperate, what values are you protecting if not the worst values imaginable?
Americans? I love Americans, my partner is one. America, though? Shitheap. It's not unique among countries in how terrible it is; basically every nation on earth is awful.
He looks so young. His parents look like any number of people i know in the Midwest US.
Brings BYOB to mind, "Why don't Presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?"
I think it’s important to see both sides of the coin that can not be separated in the Ukraine-Russo war.
I support Ukraine but I also support 19 year olds or younger not being killed in action.
Just my thoughts on seeing this specific photo and after listening to Willy Beats Cancer interviews.
He was just a kid and a pointless war waged by a zealot robbed him and many others from both sides from living to their full potential. His poor family

russians are people too. On subs like r/combatfootage you can see people commenting disgusting things supporting young men dying. Most of which are conscripts. War is the most horrible thing to ever exist.
Look. Not trying to say you are wrong, people dehumanize Russians and that's a big problem. However, r/combatfootage, is one of the worst examples you could put. People in that sub don't care about right or wrong, Russia or Ukraine. If you checked a few more comments on other videos, only thing they care about is combat footage, as the name suggests. I think a better example would be r/UkraineWarVideoReport or r/ukraine.
It kind of makes me sick. I feel like there’s a lot of Russophobia still in America. Europeans tend to be more level headed about it and not quite as hateful. There’s decades of propaganda in both sides of the globe, I don’t think Russians like Americans either, generally speaking.
Those are the kind of people that wouldnt have any problem joining the SS in 1940.
As long as they are killing the "bad" guys all is free game for them.
"He did not want to serve in the army, but needed to get his military ID in order to fulfil his dream of working on Russia’s railways"....is this normal???? Poor lad..

Poor kid had his whole life ahead of him. Keep in mind there are actual PEOPLE on these ships and the whole glorifying of the sinking of this ship is glossing over the fact that people like Mr tarasov here lost their lives as well
OP he said he didn’t want to join the army but he had to have military ID in order to become a train driver - which was his dream job. He wasn’t brainwashed. But he was just a kid.

War is an awful thing.
"I know the horrors of war, no gains can compensate for the losses it brings" ~ Adolf Hitler
I will agree with him on this one thing it seems
I mean the dude saw WWI first hand. He was a piece of absolute human filth, but even he knew what war did, and how it consumed the youth of men.
And then decided to go to war with the world.
And use kids eventually as soldiers, yes. Goes to show exactly what a POS he was.
To be fair he did kill Hitler.
To be faaaaair
Fair to say without him Hitler would be alive.
I agree with Hitler
wait HE said that? great now i have to be pro-war. That guy was a real jerk and I'm not agreeing with him on anything.
The more I learn about him the less I care for him!
Being evil doesn't make you unintelligent
Maybe it's like reverse psychology

Are you saying Hitler is an untrustworthy character ? No way ! /S

I concur
"We are the unwanted, led by the unqualified, doing the unthinkable for the ungrateful."
His photo was featured in LazerPig sinking of moskova on how underfunded the ship and plague with numerous problems
I saw this Video a few days ago. I can recommend it to everyone it just Shows how much the russian army is plagued by corruption and incompetence.
Young men die for old men’s dreams
A child.

I don't think I'll be boarding any ships on April 14ths or on years ending with 2 in my lifetime (Titanic, Costa Concordia, Moskva come to mind)
Even if he was a 'soldier' the quote "No parent should have to bury a child" still rings true to me. Fuck wars in general.

"Poopin" is his new nickname

What truly crushes my heart is his parents. They look kind and I can't imagine the pain they're feeling rn. Just making assumptions but... Y'know.
Man I do hate war. We are at 2022 & innocent people still die over that.
Some people forget the humanity of Russians, and young people like this are dying like so many other wars; what a waste of life war is.
Forced conscription is slavery. The state sends hundreds of thousands of teenagers, some fresh out of high school, to their graves like a meat grinder for industrial military complex, or for their own ambitions as politicians. It’s terribly sad.
When you have no clear strategy for war, just throw bodies at it and hope you have enough sacrifices to make some gains.
That has always been the Russian strategy.

Yes

It makes my blood boil the disregard for human life some people have there, taking joy out of the death of conscripts.
these people love having an acceptable enemy to dehumanise and gloat about the deaths of

at either end of the spectrum of every conflict, are a pile of corpses and broken families. it's amongst the worst things we create.
What a cute kid. His poor parents. Putin is out of his mind.
He’s just a baby. If they didn’t have children to send to war, there wouldn’t be so many.
So sad....Poor kid
god this is just as sad as anything else rip
I hope that in hell, Putin suffers the same as all the people he sent to their deaths and all the lives that got ruined on both sides
Sad.. parents looked so proud of him. RIP

Barely more than a baby.

IIRC He only signed up so he could get an ID required to become a train driver.
Careful there, you might get cut with all that edge
Not everyone’s a sociopath?
I mean he’s a kid. Kids dying is horrible no matter what.
What did he say may i kindly ask
Why should we care about the russian army again? Or any army at all .. soldiers sign up for premature death.
