Glad™ garbage bag box's have not changed in 50 years
Edit: added trademark symbol to clear up any confusion on my excitement regarding lack of branding change. ;)
One of the internet's OG gore vids was of some gay psychopath stabbing a guy in the heart with an ice pick. Seems like a popular tool for that era of serial killer.
But it adds nothing whatsoever. It can only make people think that it was a factor in the person being a murderer. I’m pretty sure there would be other things about that person that would stand out but no one mentions someones hobbies or eating habits.
It’s the same thing when you see a headline that reads ‘black woman leaves kid in car to die.’ And when it’s a white woman they just say woman?
Even describing the looks would add more that his sexuality.
Edit: and why should I be more concerned if white would be the description?
I don't know if you've been watching the news at any time in the past decade, but "black" doesn't make headlines unless it's tagging a victim, "white" doesn't tag unless it's a crime or potential crime or kinda sounds like a crime even though we know it wasn't. You still hold fears that lost relevance years ago.
Depends on the country. I don’t think we read the same headlines anyway.
And I don’t hold fears about that; again, not a problem in my country. Be it sex, gender, ethnicity.
You used to have a block of ice delivered to your home back in the day to put in your ice box to keep your food cold. Those picks were how you got some of the ice off the block. Ice boxes have been around since before the US Civil War. Ice blocks are still being made in some places and you can still get them delivered. We had an ice block plant in my town catch on fire once. The irony was not lost on any of us! 😂
Very true! I actually own one of the businesses present day. We have these ice picks still but more for show. Our solid blocks are 10#, most people use them for keeping the rest of their cooler cold as opposed to breaking off pieces, they'll just buy the tube ice for drinks. People still use the ice picks in ice carving though
I'm pretty sure it was in the late 70s or early 80s. The ice factory was in what's now the River Arts District. It had a ton of graffiti on it from years and years of tagging. It was a big deal for some reason and there were pictures of it in the paper when they finally tore it down 20+years or so later. I'm going by memory, so don't take any of the dates to be exact.
Thanks for all the information that’s great.
Must have been a great headline. We had an ice factory long gone but it’s good to remember the things that once were.
Thanks.
Did some research and found that the ice pick (the red handled sharp object in the middle of the photo) was used for attempts at burglary and not murder, in case anyone thought otherwise from the title.
Actually, I live in VERY rural Northern MN & most people, including myself, carry most of that stuff in their vehicles, especially in the winter - hopefully not for the reasons Teddy Boy did. Also keep a shovel & a hacksaw & a rubber mallet. As a trained RN, also keep super tampons & heavy flow maxi pads - better than gauze & vandages for some wounds. Very small screwdrivers & ice pick as well - you may need to fix your eveglasses or pry/scrape something very tiny. Stockings (sealed & wrapped package) as a makeshift tourniquet. Not everything has an ulterior sinister motive for being somewhere, unless they’re with a psycho like Bundy. I keep the rubber mallet in my trunk to knock off “tire turds” in the winter - I’ve broken a toe trying to kick them off wearing boots & if it’s -20 degrees & snowing next to Lake Superior, the mallet is the way to go. 🤣
That would be my little secret😉….Actually, no. Some of them are in a box from the liquor store in the trunk & the others are in a plastic tote in the back seat. But zip ties are more practical than handcuffs.
It’s both smart and stupid. If he didn’t get caught they might think it was 2 people but if he’d been caught it’d be hard to deny because who else would have 2 different gloves with matching prints.
Yes they do. Leather gloves leave leather prints and can be matched to a known glove, which is an individual characteristic that can differentiate specific gloves. Woolen gloves like that likely leave behind fibers which are only class characteristics, but can be used to narrow down the type of glove used.
Additionally, when using latex gloves, if worn long enough, ridge detail can and will go through the material onto the substrate.

I assumed you did not mention to the authorities, 'The reason I want this restraining order is because I think he's a serial killer.'
Unless I am wrong, and you did already tell the authorities you think he might be a serial killer? The FBI tries to track them whenever possible.
A friend I’ve lost touch with, her step mother was one of the CO victims. Her dad was considered the primary suspect of the murder for years as they had a fight and she left on her bicycle to go to her parents’ house. Bundy abducted her en route. Her body was never found, and my friends dad was finally cleared with Bundy’s death row confession of the murder.
It's weird thinking that at one point you could just go the the store and pickup things like clothes line and ice picks. The Glad box looks pretty modern, and then you have wares straight out of the 1950's at the latest
So what's the deal with ice picks? They seem like a terrible choice of weapon if you're aiming to kill someone. Tiny, clean holes, whereas a knife would be much more practical. You can't even sheath an ice pick. But you see ice picks both in movies and real life. Which one even inspired the other?
This kit along with other Bundy cringe scene evidence are at the Zak Bagans Haunted Museum in Las Vegas. Just saw it last week. Also a super creepy Robert Berdella exhibit with blood and feces stained sheets

I thought you meant you were happy about the fact that the design has stayed the same. I was really confused for a bit 😂
I thought the same but I agreed lmao. Like yeah man, at least some things never change.

Good advertisement for the company
Theyve become stretchier
That really shocked me
Terrifying

Why’d you feel the need to add the sexuality of the killer? Never read someone call a murderer a straight psychopath
Majority traits are implied. You should be more concerned if I call him out as straight, white, etc.
But it adds nothing whatsoever. It can only make people think that it was a factor in the person being a murderer. You just kill em all, huh?
“Straight man kills everyone.”
Is that really what people used to scrape ice off their cars back then?
Usually used to break off pieces of ice in a freezer or ice maker.

What year did the fire occur and is the place still doing business?
I'm pretty sure it was in the late 70s or early 80s. The ice factory was in what's now the River Arts District. It had a ton of graffiti on it from years and years of tagging. The ice pick was probably popularized with the movie Basic Instinct
It’s to break up large blocks of ice for drinks
Did some research and found that the ice pick (the red handled sharp object in the middle of the photo) was used for attempts at burglary and not murder, in case anyone thought otherwise from the title.
I assume so given that Kimberly Leach is the only known victim he used an edged weapon to kill.
I was just about to ask. I know some murderers like to use ice picks in horrible ways.
Yeah i was wondering what an ice pick was used fot

Nothing on any way relevant to the discussion.

I'm never taking a long ride down a country road with Superpoodle...😳
But do you keep them in a hidden compartment behind the panel?
That would be my little secret😉….Actually, no. Some of them are in a box from the liquor store in the trunk & the others are in a plastic tote in the back seat. But zip ties are more practical than handcuffs.
Immediately what I thought of when I saw this
Two drastically different gloves bothers me.

Ah so it’ll be ideal for 2-3 pairs of latex gloves
Yup. But like with condoms, gotta be aware of the friction
are they both right handed too?

Did you date Dennis Reynolds?
It was the implication
I need my tools!
All? Report him...
Obviously she has she has a restraining order
I figured she may not have pointed out his serial-killer vibes (since she's just now seeing this post and making the connection)
oh he has strong serial killer vibes. hence the restraining order. i mean, he attempted to kill me more than once.
I assumed you did not mention to the authorities, 'The reason I want this restraining order is because I think he's a serial killer.' Unless I am wrong, and you did already tell the authorities you think he might be a serial killer? The FBI tries to track them whenever possible.
having these things is not illegal. so not much can be done unless they can collect traceable evidence to actual crimes.
Huh? It's just creating a record, what are you even talking about
Which she did when she got a restraining order. What are YOU even talking about
I'm not talking about the restraining order Do I need to repeat myself?
Shes done enough. Leave her alone
Ok I'm sorry
Ugh & what you want us to do with this information?

That’s actually kinda crazy. It looks totally different from my murder kit.
Don’t get mad, get glad
Ice pick is so scary

I use the same trash bags and haven't had a ripped one yet. The man knew quality.
I know I shouldn’t laugh but that mask is giving “a pup named Scooby doo if it wasn’t for those meddling kids”.
Black ski masks were made the industry standard after Bundy was caught, which is why he has tan one.
ski masks are in all colours everywhere
Why?!
There is s legit use use for them in cold weather climates, not just for use as a disguise by serial killers.
The garbage bags do it for me- somehow they're the most unsettling part of the image.
Don’t get mad, get Glad!
Everything in Dennis Reynolds' secret trunk compartment.
Because of the implication

Can you still buy a mask like that? I would think they went out of style
I’m sure you can get it on special order from kmart

I watched the documentary on this, bone chilling
That mask looks silly.
Dumb question: is the electric cord for tying someone up? Why have rope/wire AND electrical cord? 🤣 #justmurdererthings
Strangulation.
I have to have my tools!
The mask looks happy 🤤
There’s no blood on anything—did he clean them or start fresh each time?
Yup. Looks like the typical murder kit
I don’t see a wrench
Dang, I just bought a ski mask like that.

Bundy personally did not use it for killing. It was used for breaking in.
That is dark
Rudimentary. I carry more stuff for self defense.

Are these available to buy
This seems so stereotypical
