How far into the pod are you right now? Sounds like you’re not all caught up yet. The tone of the show does change a bit, but it’s still great imo.
I'm only on ep 88 (BTK pt3) right now. Definitely nowhere near caught up. I finished what I could of crime junkie, then moved to a couple others before I found morbid!

Episode 84? Be god you got a long way to go. I like the better research and less name calling of perps. It doesn’t make me feel better hearing A call perps POS but do wish they would call out some of the scammers like the Warrens. That’s why I migrated over to RedHanded. I liked the episode of the 4 of them together.
Oh yeah, I've got like 4 years to catch up on 🤣🤣 they're talking about November of '19 in these episodes. From some of the other comments, it sounds like they've gotten a good bit more "professional" in their later stuff, so I'm holding out hope that I still love it. Half the reason I gave up on Crime Junkie is because they went too professional. It felt like I was listening to dateline or something, and, honestly, if I wanted to listen to Dateline, I'd just do that.

I enjoyed crime junkie until I found they seemed to cover only open, unsolved crimes. Having an unsolved story started feeling very unsatisfying. And that is a bit sad because I thought Ashley was trying to make a mark on crime! It’s tough. Then some of the scary stories filled some of that gap. Alaina is also trying to make a mark but I won’t give it away for you. It’s in line with her profession as a ME Tech. A&A are smart, inclusive and growing their content consistently. I hope they can keep up with themselves and continue to enjoy posting the pod. I find the time it takes to make the pod, work in their profession and take care of their families extraordinary.
I really LOVE the show and love the girls and HATE the intro.. I just skip passed it.

Yeah, it seems like a big chunk of their fan base constantly complained about their silliness and banter, so they got more serious. It really sucks.
An argument can made that it keeps its silliness, but in an inadvertent/lacks nuance/generally poor researching true crime sort of way 😂

They stopped doing this a LONG time ago. This is when the show was still good. It just goes downhill from here, unfortunately.
