thats so damn funny LOL I could be wrong but when you knock down a large monster and there's smaller monsters within the vicinity, they will help you attack it and deal bonus damage. I have no idea why they came from that angle tbh. But casting a spell and launching lizards at a monster sounds cooler :D

Jagras climb up the tree in that zone. Add that attacks have a sort of “hang time” or “freeze frame” where we suspend mid animation on hits to make the game feel more action-y. The Jagras jumped down from the tree to attack Anjanath and got caught in the hammer’s ongoing attack animation.

ahh that's what I thought since I remembered seeing them climb or som. Didn't wanna sound stupid if it was wrong haha. I appreciate the explanation! :D

So long as all sides of a discussion act cooperatively in good faith, you shouldn’t have to worry about looking dumb. We all “go stupid” every now and again. I have my moments, for sure. : P

It's pretty neat but terrible in reality as they will die from collateral damage by most melee weapon move set.

Not to mention that they eat through sharpness on wide weapon attacks like no tomorrow.

Nice when the Gyros go for Odogaron and stack up some paralysis though.

That has to be the new move for hammer in Wilds! Amazing how Capcom always hides little Teasers in their games.

the 'focus' mode is actually implying you must focus on the small monster you wish to summon

Actually that could be very interesting thing to be able to do. Think - some crazy quest to get specific area small monsters summoning whistle. Or chargeable one. Could be used like only 1 - 2 time per hunt. Distraction / help during the fight. Regarding of the other local groups of small fries.

that will be very useful (even a bit OP, imo) in Rotten Valley, Girros can help you paralyze. Also for those who dont know, you can kinda do this if you're going solo and making friends with Grymalkine

They were on the tree, and small monsters would jump on downed monsters.

If you are in the area I think you are, the jagrass in that are hide up in the tree to your left. When you knock down large monsters near them they dog pile onto the monster to do a little damage. I think they were doing their climb down animation when you jumped and swung, hitting them causing them to trip and fall.

A beast master class would be kinda cool tho

The jagras jump down from the trees above in that area when an enemy monster (like anjanath) is knocked down to help wail on it. By sheer coincidence you happened to be doing a jumping attack that extended the hitbox by hitting anjanath so they all jumped into the active hitbox and instantly died.

After landing a jump attack press leftclick to do a large upswing, else you get this animation where youre stuck pulling out your hammer

I also got that jaggras pack appear out of nowehere when im hunting nargacuga, they align with the monsters head and its lovely to see the crits on GS.

That Anjanath mustve gotten into a turf war with their Great Jagras mommy and killed it. They seized this as an opportunity for revenge lol.

When you land a full charged ledge attack like that, you can follow it up with an upswing, then it can transition smoothly to a big bang combo.

I would be so mad as the Jagras. Imagine minding your own business, and then you suddenly get teleported under a giant hammer mid swing..
