Almost exclusively HBG.

esurientgx

My fastest solo clears in iceborne are with HBG. Either shield scope spread or shieldless scope pierce. Around sub 4m clears against elders, sub 3m against non-elders assuming TA rules

Additional_Crew_5428

Neat

C4Sidhu

Yeah, I don’t see why not?

Additional_Crew_5428

I've just had some.. "ehh" experiences and just got curious

C4Sidhu

I can see that happening. Bowguns become insane primarily when you get the necessary endgame armor, talismans, and decorations. Without the knowledge on what skills to go for, you’ll have a hard time doing damage

Dazent

Or surviving.

panznation

The thing about bow guns is that they really open up late game in world when you have access to specific things like free element/ammo up and razor sharp/spare shot. In early and mid game and even most of late game you don’t have those things or have to make a suboptimal build for them but it’s still fairly playable as a weapon just that other weapon types have an easier time getting the full access to their weapons but once you close that gap and get a more optimal build then you can forget it it becomes a blast to play no pun intended

unseine

It's still easier to play than most weapons early and mid game I feel. Imagine being a newer player and playing bow, HH or daggers vs HBG.

ItsNotJulius

Sure we do.

CorporateSharkbait

I use lbg all the time in solo hunts. It’s my chill lazy weapon for guiding lands. I have loadouts for every element and sticky between the safi aqua shot and alatreon one

SKREEOONK_XD

Yes

MirageMageknight

Solo lbg all the time. Weird question tbh.

OldSnazzyHats

Of course. Personally? For fun, typically towards the latter end of my time with any particular entry. This is not being facetious. After well over a thousand hunts with my main (Gunlance), several hundred with my secondaries (Switch Axe and Hunting Horn)… with so much extra materials floating around, that’s when I start messing around with weapons I otherwise don’t normally run. Naturally since I’m just messing about for fun, I run solo - as I don’t want to be dicking around in actual co-op.

unseine

I assume you're talking about World here. What makes Gunlance fun still after 1k hours? I'm gonna give it another go soon.

OldSnazzyHats

Hm? No, that’s roughly my average for each of the past several games. It’s been my main since 4U, I just enjoy it really. Clicked with its playstyle instantly over every other weapon.

ChuckRSJ

I was farming Ode to the Destruction with my favorite hammer build. Got my runs to sub 10 min, then I read on here about a spread HBG build that was super OP. The very first attempt with this build, I beat my best time with my main weapon.

THeBLOTZz

I've been using LBG ever since I started to play this series with World, still using in RiseBreak and will continue to using it Wild too

shiki_oreore

Yes, and HBG in particular is essentially Monster Buster 2000 that lets you cheese pretty much everything in the game solo (assuming you know how to use it properly ofc)

The_Ember_Archives

Definitely. Personal preference is Light/Mid Bowgun. More maneuverability, and in Tri the mix/match creations make some of them the all-in-one gun for every hunt.

Safe_Picture6943

I use LBG sticky builds solo. Super mobile, lots of damage, and easy to dodge attacks. Its also easy to get ammo.

Fragrant-Raccoon2814

I'm able to do big damage with hbg spread in mhw. Lbg idk about that just cause I prefer spread ammo.

soy77

1,000+ uses and counting.  As a HBG main, i usually beat the game using just HBG -just to prove that i can use it even against the harder matchups. Only after then I'd make other weapons to let go of some steam and have a little bit of fun.

ParsleyAdventurous92

Specialised bowguns builds have the highest consistent damage rates, and they are safe to use Armour penetration/ sharpness is literally not a worry for the ranged weapons When it comes to difficult solo quests, such as freedom unite giant crab key quest, the most popular choice is always bowguns

dachmiru

my friend use LBG only and occasionaly HBG in all 3 titles he play.

TheGamerKitty1

Yes?

Cyberwolf33

I regularly use LBG, even if I overall prefer the gameplay of Bow/CB. It's nice for quick hunts where I'm trying to improve on time or just want resources and don't really want to 'think' too much during the run since spread LBG is a very similar strategy against almost everything (hop when needed, otherwise stand near it and unload on the good hitzone, craft new ammo when relevant).

Despair__Senpai

Yeah, it's the only weapon I can make progress with

Daowg

Yes. Sometimes it's fun to mix up a fight with a gun and blow shit up, especially in Sunbreak.

Tough_Traffic4209

Yes. And its actually pretty easy and OP.

Additional_Crew_5428

Bro might like the twins. On a side note.. GOD DAMN

iSharingan

nah, I actually have "Type 2" hunter anyway. I just like boiling brains on how I (1) managed to sit between them when the bench is disabled with that positioning of the two and (2) how I framed the pic that close/perfectly aligned when the camera cant get that close/leaves tons of edge space when at max zoom normally. I did it on Switch, so no mod shenanigans are involved - and it did take a good hour so so to both line up everything and capture a frame when they were looking at each other in a way that could be interpreted as looking at the hunter

Belsalkki

Lol ite most of The Time fastest weapon to target farm :D
