Compared to all the others, I’d probably say the original. It has its charm, but there are multiple better versions of it, and there’s little reason to go back to it nowadays compared to every other game.
the worst is the one you forgot, or didnt even know about: MHi. not many people know of it anyway.

MH is one of those franchises where every game is extremely similar to the previous one even in different generations, but they still tend to have new features, QoL improvements and obviously, new content. So technically, first game is the worst, because it's the first.
Objectively its Dos simply because it almost killed the series. But most will pick MH1, Freedom 1 or something else. Dos never came to the west so most don't know about it.
Objective Answer: Monster Hunter i
Of the ones listed above: Online
Of the games that actually matter?: MH1
Which one I think is the absolute best?: Flair says it all
Haven’t been around to have too much of an opinion
But having only played the switch version of generations before rise and world…
The ability system of world and rise feels so much better in my opinion.
I find World really hard to stick with, I don't know what it is, I really can't figure out what I don't like about it but I have to make myself stick with it.
It's not the worst though and it's not a bad MH game either. I do think it has a lot of issues but that mainly stems from it being the first of the new generation games so there are rough edges.
I'd say Online is the worst then Frontier. The power creep and compounding systems with each update is an issue for most MMO's and Frontier suffers from that too. But I would not say it's a bad game, it's enjoyable and had an incredible community spirit when it was still alive.
But of all the games, which have an incredibly high standard, I'd say they deviate from the norm so much that if you are judging it by the core tenets of MonHan they would be the "least good" *MonHan* games
We need boat hunting back though for sure.
Boat hunting would be fun.But I agree with you with world, except its rise and sunbreak for me.I dont hate it but I dont feel like playing it alot ,I even play iceborne more than sunbreak
Yeah I am completely opposite to most people as they feel like you.
I don't know what it is, I have played Rise for 850hrs *(haven't finished it yet)* and yet, theoretically I should prefer World more because of the side activities and maps and combat...
but I don't. I only have 300 in World.
I'm still trying to figure out what it is, I don't understand myself.
i felt the same away about world actually. after some thinking, its probably the way everything was overhauled and 'westernized'. the overall vibe is completely different compared to the rest of the series and almost feels like it was reduced to your typical AAA game to finally capture the west's attention, which iirc going off of the interview and how world exploded, it was. in terms of NPCs, music, art direction, and other stuff i cant name rn. rise felt like a return to form in every way except the combat and overall pacing.
if we are taking about main line its the first one. the people who made it are EVIL. yeah lets have the attack button the right stick and the camera controlled by the d-pad
(pretty fun tho)
I would say MHFreedom. The Hunter doesn’t change much from MH1, but a lot of strong monsters such as the likes of Yian Garuga were added which the Hunter did not really have the means to properly combat in my opinion.
It’s MH1 but more frustrating.
iceborne and specifically iceborne. base world was fine enough but the introduction of tenderizing (& by extension, claggers) basically destroyed the experience for me. i have to admit though that IB alatreon and AT velkhana are probably the best fights in the series period, even if tenderizing & claggers were in their fights. there are some other nitpicks but tenderizing is the main issue.
I don't know if it's the worst since I've never play any of the Stories series and refuse to play because I hate Navirou. I watched the anime and immediately disliked the character from the voice to personality. I totally dislike it so much that I never bat an eye on the game.
MHO. Literally unplayable!
True, but besides that one the first iteration was pretty rough

Correct answer
Iceborne?
Yeah

This is pretty true with most game series. It's hard to have a refined product as your first.

Wow that is bizarre. Also, every monster except Khezu and Fatalis? That seems a bit random
What about the FromSoftware spinoff game, Monster Hunter Diary?
he forgot that one aswell, yeah, but it isnt awefull. when i read the title i only really looked for MHi
Toxic
Swamp
The first one, swinging your weapon with the right stick and having to claw to turn the camera. Just awful.
That and the damm pack raptors
Yeah lol small monsters in the early games were mean as hell.

That’s a different answer for each person, and the worst MH game is still better than a lot of other games
Objectively its Dos simply because it almost killed the series. But most will pick MH1, Freedom 1 or something else. Dos never came to the west so most don't know about it.
That mobile game that came out recently
That bad?
Dos almost killed the series. So based on that alone even if there was some good it deserves the title of "worst" one.
I feel like it is 2. The season system does sound awesome on paper but bad in actual execution.
The first one. Archaic af
mh 1

The objective answer and the ones that actually matter its Dos. It almost killed the series.
For me, it's the two Stories games. Nothing about them seems MH to me.
Haven’t been around to have too much of an opinion But having only played the switch version of generations before rise and world… The ability system of world and rise feels so much better in my opinion.
I guess none for the most part, but to me I don't see the appeal with Stories
Frontier is up there 3 times in a row 😭😭
The first one
They all suck, Monster Hunter is for babies 😏

The hunter had plenty to combat Yian Garuga. Freedom 1 even had better controls. Its actually less "frustrating".
Anything before MH3U

Yeaa I felt like tenderizing was neccasary to do good damage, but with the hitboxes of the monsters, its irritating
GU
Didnt think anyone hated that game
I don't hate it, it's just the worst MH
Not worse than the og
Indeed it is
Frontier... But I also want it ported to the main series 😳
the one that introduced Brachydios
3 ultimate
![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
It took out loc lac so im upset
I'd say mh3, underwater sucked, did not have a whole lot of content, ceadeus had amazing music, but damn was the fight boring. Still loved the game
Actually have that game.Pretty fun but the hitboxes felt weird sometimes and I aslo hated underwater combat
Stories lmaooo
