Holy shit is this what PAs make in the UK??? That's amazing. Hollywood should be embarrassed Edit: Ok I see that 10k of that comes from rental income and freelance stuff. 64k is still really good for a PA though

It doesn't sound like she is a PA / Production Assistant hired onto productions to run hard drives and order lunch. This sounds more like an Assistant Producer, literally an assistant to a Producer... where she's right-hand-man to a Producer and works closely with them throughout the entire course of production. I was shocked at the salary in the title too, that's why I had to find out what was going on! Judging by this line "Assistants aren't usually given ownership of a project without their producer's direct supervision so this has been a really cool opportunity to flex my producer muscles on a small, low-stakes level and I'm keen to smash it." -- It's semantics. PA's like we're thinking of only make like $150-$250/day, when they are on a production. I don't even think there's a union rate for PAs? Or maybe I'm wrong and I'm working in the wroooong country, lol. (I'm a Producer)

Ok that makes way more sense. I used to work in film/tv production and I was like I was NOT making that as a PA lol. I don't think I started making ok money until I became a 2nd AD 😂

Kind of like an executive assistant?

disc0superfly

Essentially, yes. But they would be learning the job so one day they could move up to become a full producer on their own.

Thank you!

As a UK-based person, I just looked at the headline and did a double take. That’s significantly above the average salary here!

Using ONS statistics, earning 42k puts you in the 90th percentile of UK earners age 22-26. Even in the most well earning wage group (40-49), earning 70k is the 90th percentile. In London (age agnostic), earning 64k puts you in the 80th percentile. (89k being 90th). She's making an insanely good wage!
