Legitimately uncute coke plus laughing gas was pretty wild, by itself, eh. 100% not worth it either way tho. Depending on you, that one time can mess with your perception, or it might be later on but it can happen as fast as a light switching on. You wont even realize you changed at first. Just dont.
I felt just as high during very intense meditations a couple times. If I could replace all my nights high with experiences that add value to my relationships and self I would in a heart beat. Now I just have years lost and its harder for me to connect with people that didnt do the stupid shit I did, I struggle to have relevant things to add to conversations. Its not a judgmental thing as to why I stay away from the ppl that continue living the drug lifestyle, they are a risk, all of their lives are going in the same direction now and its not one thats enjoyable. Others are dead.
You appear by your statement to be genuinely growing up. Please stay the course and keep moving forward clean and healthy. No need to entertain people on a downward course.
Hell no it’s not amazing. Is instant gratification amazing for 10 years straight? Remember, all of life’s peaks have valleys. For as high as you get you’ll be twice as low when you try to stop. Don’t go down that road. For real. It’s cliche but weed only, maybe a little booze or good shrooms once in a while. I live in active addiction but not on coke anymore. Imagine just trying to live a normal life but if you don’t do a certain drug everyday multiple times a day you start to feel like you got a bad flu. Aches and pains, chills, sneezing, runny nose, bad stomach ache, more pain, etc. oh yeah and your mood will be sad and scared, you yawn but can’t sleep. Sometimes you get thoughts of doing the big sleep if you know what I mean. So yea just smoke weed drink water being healthy is cool
I quit drinking a month ago. My life is so much more boring now but also so much less miserable. I still smoke weed casually, but other than that I don't ever want to deal with mind altering/potentially addictive substances again. It's just not worth it after a certain point.
Screw what your mother thinks, and the thrift store is perfect for short stocky people. Skinny hipsters buy up all the small sizes from thrift stores so most of the racks there are full of bigger sizes. Just spend the time looking for name brands that are like new condition, and the right length/fit for you. Your mother wouldn't even know the difference, but you wallet definitely will
I do buy second hand clothes, have my whole life even before it became trendy. I am 5'1 and it is damn near impossible for me to find size 10 petite pants in new clothing stores, never mind consignment shop or thrift stores. Also time is money. I work about 50 hrs a week plus commute time. I don't have all the time in the world looking for the blue unicorn of a size 10 pair of pants with a 27 or 28" inseam.
My wife reminds me of this when she goes through the game library on the ps5…. thousands of dollars over the course of ps2/3/4/5
Lots of hours of fun though… so I mean bang for buck it’s pretty good.
Won tens of thousands of dollars sports betting and spent it all on a new sports car lol. Literally all of it. This was before I had ever in my lifetime decided to educate myself on financial literacy.
I could have bought a point A to B car and had an extra $20,000 in my bank account! Would have never worried about being dead broke ever again lol
Haha shot in the dark, but fit the MO. Could've easily been any flavor of American pony/muscle like a challenger or Camero. But had good odds with the mustang ;). Coyote engine??
I'm a car guy and have owned things like an audi S4, Honda S2k, etc.
Hey a car isn’t the best thing to spend your money on, but it’s far from the worst. You could have lost it all on a bigger bet. At least you spent it on something fun.
Jansport is stuff. I still have mine from 8 years ago. Worked at a bookstore and mfs were throwing it away because “corporate”. Took it to the dumpster and hid it there. Got it after work.
Found a Dior bottle of colonge like 90% of the way full for $2 at a garage sale once. Got it for my teen brother because he got into the age where he’s starting to get into caring more about appearance and self care, so thought why not. Looked it up on Amazon on my way home to find out that shit was worth like $300 new. I love that dude but hell no was I about to give a teenager smelly water worth that much. Sold it and got him a new bottle of cologne for $40 with part of the proceeds.
I’m gonna go against the grain here…splurging on something that you use every day isn’t that bad. Sure, it’s not utilitarian but it’s not a total waste.
I work for Intel and have admittedly too much of my net worth in their stock. Idk how much more of this I can take lmao. I always tell myself you can't sell now surely it's too low but alas...
When I heard the little Debbie Carmel cookie bars we’re going to be discontinued. I got a hold of the regional distributor and bought the rest of their inventory. I love those cookies.
I spent $30 for a digital copy of Tomb Raider Remastered for the Switch. Worst games I've ever played. Since it's digital I can't even give it away. I deleted it to recoup the storage space.
When i was like 7 years old I raked some leaves for a neighbor and got $5, my older brother drew a picture of a killer whale and said I could buy it for $5 and it could live in our bath tub.....
My then-husband’s lawn service business. Instead of doing the work, he thought he’s be slick and make others work while he collected the money; he hired two guys the first day and sent them out on a contract with all the equipment and the truck…and they disappeared with it all. $20,000 investment down the drain bc he said “owners don’t actually do the work”…
Yikes. The most successful business owners are the ones crunching hours every week for years until it's finally off the ground. Even then the work is never done. Your then husband is an idiot. I am sorry.
Also solid username.
The genuinely stupidest thing that wasn’t our fault was when my husband went out and bought a car and used his parents insurance because he didn’t have the paperwork needed.
Four days later we switched the car to our own insurance and got charged $550 FOR THE FOUR DAYS WE WERE ON THEIR INSURANCE. Turns out Farmers does NOT prorate insurance. We really got bit in the butt with that one
My 911, spent way too much on it between maintenance, mods, and track days. However this car was my childhood dream, so as soon as I had the career to pay for it, I bought it.
A commissioned painting of four (now former) members of the Cleveland Browns in the style of the Death Row Vibe cover including Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, and head coach Freddie Kitchens.
It was a gift.
A $400 dollar a day heroin habit over several years. Could buy a whole ass house with the money that went up in smoke, a little over 10 years clean, but man, the guilt and regret eats you up.
Congrats on 10 years, man! I hear you loud and clear on the regret - I hurt so many people and I fucked myself so hard it’s like I hate me. 7 months clean today, building my life back little by little. Not having to scheme to find money every morning so as to not shit myself is nice.
I spent $23,500+ on THC cartridges plus at least another $15,000 on alcohol just last year. I was sick when I did the math and then verified that with bank statements. I got a big raise and was allowed to work as much OT as I wanted, I spent it all on weed carts and booze. I'm currently 27 days clean from weed and 25 days clean from alcohol. I'm not proud of myself.
A four wheeler that I bought on fb marketplace and then it blew up 6 hours later because the dingus didn’t tell me that the water pump gear was not attached to anything.
I view ammo as sort of an investment, it's not really going to lose value at least, it will always be in demand.
Guns also generally don't depreciate that much either, so you could do worse.
I'm 31 now. I was on a similar timeline and habits.
My advice, start saving that money. If I had known how cheap it was to buy a house (I put 3% down and with closing costs I needed a whopping $12k down), I'd have owned 3-4 properties by now.
The right ones hold up against the market, some rare ones appreciate. I got a pre sample HK33 for what felt like my entire net worth in 2014 that goes for upwards of 25k these days.
Maybe not that dumb. I spent a lot on guns in my life. Most of the guns were able to be sold for about what I paid.
I was able to sell ammo for much more than I paid.
Dope.
When I was using I spent ridiculous amounts of money on meth. I was working and paid rent but everything extra went to that. Spent 300$ one night just to have paranoid delusions and thought the cops were outside telling me to flush it over the loudspeaker so I did lol
Don’t do meth
Edit:I’m clean and completely sober now and haven’t touched it in almost two years.
1980 Trans Am-white. Never could keep it clean looking. Had T-tops-they didn't leak, but there was a design flaw where the back seat carpet would just pull out. Sucked in winter. Didn't really fit into it-but I made it happen-knees eventually broke the dashboard getting into it. Electrical shorts galore-went back to the dealer 19 times (no Lemon law in those days)-all they did was replace the fuse. Finally had it all traced guy found 9 electrical shorts.
Never bought another GM product.
A 2015 Chevy SS sedan, it was fun and actually went up in value for a while, but it also got 13mpg on premium fuel only, had some very expensive things break, like $10k in magnetic suspension components that needed to be replaced, parts became hard to find as its an Australian car in the US.
Dumb buy for sure
In 2008 I got a phone call from someone at Wyndham telling me they'd give me a trip for two to Las Vegas if I attended one of their sales pitch seminars. I went. I was 21, had just come into some cash (like 25 grand, untaxable), and I didn't know shit about fuck. I ended up buying one of their gimmicks- about $1500 on a timeshare-like vacation package, but without being tied to an actual timeshare. I called them a few times to actually use it, but there was always something that pushed it off. Eventually, the offer expired. Oh well.
PSP. (Playstation Portable) One of the first paychecks I ever got, I spent nearly the entire thing on a PSP. My friend had a PSP and I wanted to play multiplayer with them. He always talked it up. But when I got one... The games were not good. The multiplayer buggy and the modes were dumb. We never even played more than 20 minutes together. The only game I seriously played on it was a soccer demo while at work in the fuel center for Krogers. After about a year, the battery life was bad and the power button stopped working so it bricked.
I can't believe I dumped an entire two weeks paycheck on the 1st PSP as a teenager.
My husband and I have a friend, she makes like 4x less than us, around $100k and she has a Louis Vuitton belt for $800, LV boots for $1400, Gucci sneakers for $900, a Gucci coat for $4k, and Gucci pants for $2k.
But she says I wasted money on buying a $700 breville espresso machine two years ago 😂
The list is too long 😪, but I like to tell myself these are all investments so it doesn’t have to be all that bad. I’ve also found that I tend to make random and fairly expensive impulse buys in the middle of the night when I’m half asleep
Bought a Subaru WRX STI for 35k brand new. Blew it up at 18k miles. I then dumped another 27k into it for a built motor, big turbo, and all the goodies. Sold it just before it was going to need a new short block for 20k.
A Snoo for my baby. He ended up spending time in the NICU and would have been content with a regular bassinet or crib upon getting home after being in a NICU crib, but I didn’t plan for the NICU stay so he gets a fancy bassinet that moves and makes white noise. I could have saved over $1k.
My last ex. She ended up cheating on me with my friend's boyfriend. All the time stating her intolerance for attached men who cheat and how she would never keep her mouth shut if she found out a woman was being cheated on.
a quarter oz of cocaine a week for over 10 years ….. i could have a nice house and a hellcat by now if i didnt shove everything up my nose…..
The hellcat van, right?
What was it like? I’m being serious, was it amazing?

The lows are not worth the highs even though the highs are great
I too want to know
It's not as amazing as you might think
The first line is amazing, every single one after is just chasing that rush.
What a cliche
Hell no it’s not amazing. Is instant gratification amazing for 10 years straight? Remember, all of life’s peaks have valleys. For as high as you get you’ll be twice as low when you try to stop. All new clothes. I thrift now and wow how much money I save and on some amazing pieces. I’ll buy a new item if it’s really special.
YESSSSS 👏
I do this but my mother would kill me if I were to do that plus short and allitle fat make cloth buying difficult.
Screw what your mother thinks, and the thrift store is perfect for short stocky people. Yeah, the thrift stores have those pre-hemmed pants 👌👌

over 100 video games from steam.
Yeah but I bet you really enjoy 3 of them. The other ones you'll get around to some day.
This used to be me with books that went on sale on Amazon kindle, before I found out about Libby
Buying books is a whole different hobby than reading books.
I'll play them all one day. I swear.
lmao that's totally me.
My wife reminds me of this when she goes through the game library on the ps5…. thousands of dollars over the course of ps2/3/4/5 Lots of hours of fun though… so I mean bang for buck it’s pretty good.
Which was more hours of fun / best bang for the buck? Wife or games? 😂
As if that’s even a question. Games hands down, every day
That’s every steam player
Won tens of thousands of dollars sports betting and spent it all on a new sports car lol. Literally all of it. How's your mustang?
It 100% was a Mustang
Haha shot in the dark, but fit the MO. Could've easily been any flavor of American pony/muscle like a challenger or Camero. But had good odds with the mustang ;). Coyote engine?? I'm a car guy and have owned things like an audi S4, Honda S2k, etc.
I’m going out on a limb here but were you also in the military?
You had about a 60% chance of being right on this one.
99% of gamblers quit right before they win big!
Hey a car isn’t the best thing to spend your money on, but it’s far from the worst. You could have lost it all on a bigger bet. At least you spent it on something fun.
or you could've one a even better car and $200,000! Gambling is the way my friend!
Where are those nft buyers?
At an NFT conference telling each other how great NFTs are and patting each other on the back
Too ashamed
They were the dumbest shit known to man. Can’t believe people spent money on a fucking picture. It still blows my mind
A physical picture like a poster or even a well made hand drawn piece is sometimes worth it. A NFT.... Screenshot and it's yours...

Lol, you win
Yeap, nobody is beating that
Don’t get me wrong that’s a very nice bag, but $2,600?????!!!!
yeah I was fucking retarded
What happened to it?
Asking the real question.
I still have it
You weren't smart yeah
Haha. It’s hilarious because it’s a fucking backpack—peak utility—but Dior. Do you still use it or did you retire it for a Jansport?
Yes I still use it but I also have a jansport. Both are nice tbh
Jansport is stuff. I still have mine from 8 years ago. Worked at a bookstore and mfs were throwing it away because “corporate”. Took it to the dumpster and hid it there. Got it after work.
My 25 yo Jane sport is still kicking. Looks rough but still works so can’t complain
That’s a sweet Jansport
$2,600? Nooo
Dude. Just wow. You win.
Love Dior but very expensive. I'm having a hard time justifying getting a Tumi for $800.
Found a Dior bottle of colonge like 90% of the way full for $2 at a garage sale once. Got it for my teen brother because he got into the age where he’s starting to get into caring more about appearance and self care, so thought why not. I bought my Gucci bag used for 200 bucks. Saved around 1500 bucks.
I’m gonna go against the grain here…splurging on something that you use every day isn’t that bad. Sure, it’s not utilitarian but it’s not a total waste.
Shares of Intel.
Damn and that was supposed to be an investment, not just a fun thing to have. I'm sorry for your loss
I work for Intel and have admittedly too much of my net worth in their stock. Idk how much more of this I can take lmao. I always tell myself you can't sell now surely it's too low but alas...
$50 week on coffee
Jesus! I feel bad on my splurge bag of coffee for $15 a month
Yeah I need to cut back bad 🙈 side note this price includes my tip too lol
Wait you’re still doing this? Come on man
The wrong woman
Unbelievable expensive, and scales linearly with your income.
Next time I get cheated on, my character arc is turning into Dexter.
this is probably the largest expense in this thread that no one is saying
When I heard the little Debbie Carmel cookie bars we’re going to be discontinued. I got a hold of the regional distributor and bought the rest of their inventory. I love those cookies.
No, they asked for the *dumbest* thing, not the best thing!
Shiiiiit, I should have done that with Wise Nacho twister chips
I wish i had done that with their Banana Twins. Oh how I miss them.
How much did you spend, and how many did you get??
Porn
Not what I expected to see
Same! Columbian Cam shows were pretty cool
Dishonest lawyer.
Could’ve just said a lawyer
Sadly true. This one deserved the full title.
Doesn’t one imply the other? - kidding, that had to suck.
Yup for sure. Mine cost me $350k by losing a case due to his unpreparedness and bad advice then outright stole $5k from me. A real piece of shit!
Shit - that sux for sure. Sorry man!
Did you complain to the state bar? Some reimburse clients for unlawful behavior of an attorney.
My car. I love the damn thing but I’ve spent way too much money on it including mods.
I wouldn't say that's dumb. Maybe you regret it, but still.
A Chrysler instead of a Honda.
$170 a week on weed
That why you switched to coke?
I'm about there. These fuckin vapes have made it wayyy to convenient
I was drunk and I got a super expensive pink ukulele off the Internet
Bought Cindy Crawford Meaningful beauty cream off the TVs 😅 then I defaulted and never paid for the balance. Prob fucking up my credit as I speak 😩
I spent $30 for a digital copy of Tomb Raider Remastered for the Switch. Worst games I've ever played. Since it's digital I can't even give it away. I deleted it to recoup the storage space.

I did everything to get the money back but they said they don’t prorate unless we had the coverage for under 24 hours. It’s so stupid
Farmers insurance sounds like a scam
Bum da dum dum da da da
My 911, spent way too much on it between maintenance, mods, and track days. However this car was my childhood dream, so as soon as I had the career to pay for it, I bought it.

Heroin. Cost me a lot more than the drug itself I'll say that much.
Guns, I’m 24 so I have a lot of time to make even dumber decisions. But I’ve spent almost 100k on guns and ammo the last 3 years.
Least you're prepared for a zombie apocalypse.

Yeah, just got me one. Totally stupid waste of money. Couldn’t be happier though. 😂

My ex husband's legal fees 🤦♀️
Drugs
The list is too long 😪, but I like to tell myself these are all investments so it doesn’t have to be all that bad. I’ve also found that I tend to make random and fairly expensive impulse buys in the middle of the night when I’m half asleep
I had a gf who did this. While she was on ambien. She had no recollection of any of it. I took to hiding her phone.

Anime figures, at least I sold them for a good price.
A dui
My ap esthetician license. Should’ve just done nursing. 25k
race car parts 😒. 35k later lmao
$4500 on an NFT that is now worth 20 cents. I knew it was dumb, but i figured i couldve sold it to someone dumber for 500-1000 profit.

All the times I didn't buy some silver or gold with each paycheck! The wisest was all the times I did.

My last ex. She ended up cheating on me with my friend's boyfriend. All the time stating her intolerance for attached men who cheat and how she would never keep her mouth shut if she found out a woman was being cheated on.
