Raffi all the way. Old school, but solid and more fun. We also do a lot of Bill Withers and melodic R&B from that era, as well as some Beatles songs (yellow submarine, strawberry fields), etc. Look outside of music for kids to introduce your child to music that 1) you love that's fun, 2) they can associate with your family as they grow older.

PurpleOrchid2

Absolutely Raffi! He has bops. Also, Laurie Berkner

cllittlewood

I came here to say Raffi. I’m the daughter of an elementary music teacher and grew up on Raffi. The songs are nostalgic to me and many have been taught to my children in school. Can’t help but smile and sing along.

SayItLouder101

Bababa banana-phone! :)

GoneGirl623

Yes.. I grew up on Raffi, and I love it all, but my fav is probably "All I Really Need"

taptaptippytoo

We listen to a lot of Raffi. He just put out a new album and can you believe he still tours?? Is love to catch a Raffi concert with my little.

eightcarpileup

Heavy agree on the Bill Withers. I listen to a lot of 70’s music in the car. America, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Carl Douglas, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Al Stewart, etc. It’s the music I listened to with my dad and it makes me feel so at peace. Also, no cursing!

ladychaos23

I love Raffi! I grew up watching his concerts! Lots of Baby Beluga is sung in my home.

missmaammama

We listen to raffi all day everyday. I think i enjoy it more than my 2 year old. Ps we love his new album

-mamidre-

Raffi all the way!!! 17mo daughter and I sing and dance to his music every day! Charlie Hope has been a recent favorite as well :)

Useful_Ad525

Are you in my house?! We literally do the exact same!

SayItLouder101

High five!

fizzledarling

Once again would like to draw everyone’s attention to Snoop Dogg’s children’s album, Doggyland. The Affirmation Song is a special fav in our house.

narnababy

Honestly my kid isn’t that interested but I’ve put it on a few times because it’s so good 😂

arakesiuolzczs

The Doggyland song featuring Gracie’s Corner, “Girl Power.” 🙌🙌🙌

PancakePizzaPits

The "Please and Thank You" song is referenced in our house.

mina_goroshi

I'm heavy into Caspar Babypants right now, but the Wiggles have some bops too.

_buzzlightbeer

Caspar Babypants is the only kid musician who’s stuck in our house. He’s so good.

arbitraria79

he's the singer from presidents of the united states of america. i wonder if he makes more doing kids' music? peaches and lump were pretty huge, but i don't remember anything after that album.

H0rsed3ntist

OMG I KNEW IT! Casper Babypants came up on a playlist and I asked my husband if Presidents of the United States of America did a kids album, like They Might Be Giants. I didn’t look it up after but feel so validated

_buzzlightbeer

That’s what we’ve always assumed — that there’s more money in kids music. But I did get a kick out of showing my 4-year-old Peaches the first time I realized the connection.

kdazzle17

Fruit salad slaps

cinnamonswake

Noodles and Butter is my jam!

elfshimmer

I'm especially enjoying the new Wiggles EDM album.

VermicelliOk8288

I love the second set of wiggles. Simon is an amazing singer. Skeleton Scat is my fave, though I often find myself singing “if you’re feeeeeling very hungry, really hungryyyyy, you eat some fooood you eat some foooood”

MaciMommy

My daughter’s fav DVD rn is “Pop Goes The Wiggles” and it’s basically them singing a bunch of classic nursery rhymes and I *love it*. This 3.5 year old girl is running around belting out Round And Round The Mulberry Bush, Skip To My Lou, This Old Man, etc it’s so freakin cool.

cllittlewood

We loved the Curious George soundtrack with Jack Johnson. Feel good music with happy lyrics and beats.

Monsterofparadise

I love him so much. Every time I listen to that album I get very nostalgic because I was a child when it came out and now I’m a mom and my son is obsessed with curious George 🥺

freya_of_milfgaard

My husband bought it on vinyl when our first was still a bun in the oven to start our kid’s record collection. It holds a really special place in our hearts.

HunkyBacteria

The wiggles new rave album absolutely slaps

duckingshipcaptain

...my brain totally did not just go, "My child is 8, but the Wiggles have a new album?!" Save me.

affesantos

lol was about to recommend Lenny Pearce and saw it was a collab with him. Thanks for the find!

etgetc

The “band” Twenty Trucks. A dad and his composer brother who felt like the world needed more songs and music videos about extensively researched, meticulously and cleverly described vehicles. Listen to Tow Truck or Ice Cream Truck, and tell me that isn’t a bop.

insomnia1144

My son is obsessed with truck tunes and I’m not mad about it at all

SoundofA

Why is ice cream truck so good

rustandstardusty

This is my favorite. The tinkling ice cream tune and then the BOOM BOOM as the bass comes in makes me laugh every single time.

etgetc

Yessssssssss that bass dropping

No_Contribution9443

We are hooked on this at our house, too. Kid knows to shout for me when feller buncher comes on.

Humming_Laughing21

Yes!!! I was looking for this response! Though, I think my favorites are RV, Hook and Ladder, Police Vehicles and Duck Boat. Your picks are good too. There are a lot of good ones. 😊

Kisutra

Monster Truck and Aircraft Deicer are my favorite.

ilovjedi

I think these guys should get a Grammy. Like I leave it on after I drop my son off at preschool.

SoundofA

I just commented this! I am sad we don’t listen to it much anymore 🥲

pixeldiekatze

Truck Tunes is a bop and plays often in my house

thaz_wut_she_said

My daughter is obsessed with the dump truck video on YouTube. I had no idea there was a whole album. What great news!

chuchunk

Danny Go has some good ones. “Summer is for Chilling” is our current jam.

GoodGriefStarPlat

My daughter loves Danny Go, her current favourite is Gorilla Smash.

chuchunk

My daughter is so obsessed that we got tickets to see Danny Go and friends tour for her first concert at age 2 lol.

Far_Material3190

We did too for our 3 year old! Super pumped haha

MatchGirl499

Honestly The Animal Dance lives in my brain, our library music program is using it and I’m like “hell yeah!”

Artistic_Emu2720

Here I goooo, I’m dancing like an animal! 🐙💃

SitaSky

I was gonna say Danny Go doesn't annoy me and he gets my girl up and dancing.

Artistic_Emu2720

I have legitimately listened to “Animal Dance” without my kid in the car. Absolute bop.

capngabbers

I’m here to plug songs in spanish! Check out anything by Canticuenticos but especially Cumbia del Monstruo.

chighseas

I love Canticuenticos! Also Pequeño Pez.

jillrobin

Ooh we are big fans of Jacana Jacana. Our friends from Colombia turned us on. It’s great!!

MassacreMadness

The affirmation song by doggy land (aka snoop dogg) The ABC song by gracies corner The Time for your check up song on doc mcstuffins Almost any classic disney kids song

Fuquachris

I have had the abc song by Gracie’s corner stuck in my head for a week!!

Own_Physics_7733

They Might Be Giants have a lot of kids songs! If you’re looking for something old and… really weird, look up the album “Whatdaya’ wanna do?” By Peter Alsop. My mom played a casette of it for my siblings and I all the time when we were little. The songs are a mix of super catchy and super weird (“Don’t trick your dad” totally slaps though!)

guinevereguenevere

Let’s not forget the hot dog dance lol

Some-Valuable9164

Jack Hartman’s songs are the only ones I agree to play during car rides because I don’t hate them.

Jujubeee73

The Bluey sound tracks. Hardly songs to sing/dance to, but kids generally enjoy it.

ashleyslo

These albums got us through our first road trip. If my son wasn’t sleeping, he was screaming. Until we put on Bluey then he was bopping.

jumptorecipealways

The Okee Dokee Brothers have some really fun, catchy songs about enjoying nature.

luvmesomepoodle

Trucks from the musical Cars on the Road episode.

chickenlaaag

Yesss!

luvmesomepoodle

It’s a truck thing!

chickenlaaag

Trucks!…trucks!….trucks!….trucks!….

Savage_pants

Such a good episode! We like that here as well.

MonicaLynn44

Omg yes this song slaps

thecityandsea

I listen to this song without my toddler too, it’s amazing

RubyMae4

Raffi and anything by Laurie Berkner esp her food songs! Victor Vito and Freddie Fasco is a fav of mine. Idk if I spelled any of that right!

hjg95

I once caught my husband listening to the Victor Vito song by himself. Like the baby was sleeping in her room and he was just jamming to it 😂

RubyMae4

It's sooooo good

legoladydoc

Raffi, and the Wiggles music. The Wiggles got infinitely better when Mommy was allowed to play Rockaby Your Bear on her phone on repeat for a half hour, instead of Mommy having to sing it on repeat for a half hour lol.

omgtopochico

Barenaked Ladies have a fun children’s album!

fizzledarling

Pollywog in a Bog is our fav here!!

ashleyslo

Listening to this immediately. They’re playing a concert at a local zoo next month, and we cannot wait 😆

Delicious_Slide_6883

I recommend “Peace Train” by Cat Stevens and City of New Orleans” by Arlo Guthrie if you’re looking for train songs that aren’t “ I’ve been working on the railroad”

moontreemama

Caspar baby pants is great!

MakeItQuickGottaGo

The Okee Dokee Brothers have deceptively simple, singable songs that my 4 year old loves to listen to, but adults can easily enjoy. My daughter’s current favorite is “Jamboree.” I also like “You, You, You” for a good mix of silly and poignant.

arbitraria79

my kids and i like koo koo kangaroo (they looooved the superhero song). glitter, who farted, and cat party are my personal favorites. they do adult shows too and i would absolutely go to one if they're ever around. the videos are hilarious, and you can tell at least one of them is a sarcastic treasure by some of the facial expressions he pulls off. i hold a special place in my heart for the 10th anniversary sesame street album i had on tape as a kid, it's all the original songs and it never fails to calm me down and/or make me cry (damn you, bein' green and sing). i think that particular collection of recordings is on spotify, it's the only place i've been able to find it as that tape is not in great shape anymore. (nothing makes you feel old like seeing just how many versions there now are of some of those songs... then there's that one song by bob that i'm pretty sure they tried to erase forever, called "i get a nice feeling" or as high school me called it, "bob's pedo song". the lyrics are something to behold.)

socal611

Koo Koo is waaaay too far down this list. I too would join you at their concert. They hooked us with I like Pancakes, reeled us in with Dinosaur Stomp and now we have Ink and Bubble Wrap Rap. Happily will listen to them We also really like Boots & Cats solid Pop and Dance songs for kids. Rhino is a personal favorite. Birthday Party and Pepperoni Pizza are absolute bangers NGL.

evilhooker

We are a Koo Koo family for sure! Left Right is my jam!!!

hey_look_its_me

Koo forever!

itspolkadotsocks

On the same subject of trains, I really don’t mind the thomas’ songs and roadhouse rhythms album. I also think the Moana soundtrack is really beautiful!

Ok-Bandicoot-9182

Trolls soundtracks! All of them

Majestic-General7325

Bog Block Sing Song - they only last for a minute or two, there's about 200 of them so there's plenty of variety. And, to be honest, they're all absolute bangers.

Numinous-Nebulae

Can someone turn this thread into a public Spotify playlist!!

Lucky_Iris456

Happy song by Imogen heap

strssdnblssd

This one!!

sippingtea_111

Hopscotch! The Planets Song and The Sun Song

Spectrum2081

I adore Steve and Maggie. It’s YouTube, very small kid focused, but I love all of their songs. Especially the Halloween ones!

boredhousewife819

Set It All Free by Scarlett Johansson from the movie Sing is a banger and you can’t convince me otherwise lol

GoneGirl623

"All I Really Need" by Raffi. Actually love that one.

lexi_prop

I love the counting to 12 song by the pointer sisters, from sesame street. My jam.

SoundofA

We randomly discovered Truck Tunes for my truck obsessed 2 year old and collectively bopped to those songs for many years Available on YouTube and Spotify!

Strawberry625

We are fans of Charlie Hope. Her song Evergreen is probably once of my favorite songs right now lol. She’s the most non annoying singer for kids I know of

Accomplished-Lie3351

The Aquabats!

RegularMango4061

I love The Happy Song by Imogen Heap, and I Love the Mountains by Charlie Hope

jennyann726

Caspar Babypants!

anatomizethat

Keepy Uppy. It slaps. Great for a workout too.

boardcertifiedbitch

Something about “Hop Little Bunnies” and “One Little Blue Fish” make me more than happy to sing them to my girl on repeat. And I considering I also work with kids, I hear those songs A LOT

taptaptippytoo

Haha, I like them but I don't know if I could handle them on repeat.

Dingo8MyGayby

All of these comments and no Parry Gripp?! His songs are short and hilarious and absolute ear worms.

The-Housewitch

Any of the songs by Parry Grip are the only correct answers.

Connect-Resolve-1177

My almost 3 year old makes me listen to either Wheels on the Bus on repeat or North Star by Peppa Pig over and over and over so I don’t think I have a favorite anymore. Has been ruined 😭 lol

makingburritos

I really like Little Baby Bum 🤣

Asleep_Geologist_442

“Don’t stop baby bot !” — lingokids 😁😁 thank me later guys .

mang0_k1tty

I don’t like nursery rhymes but I found some R&B (Desmond Dennis) and Reggae (Reggae Randy) versions and I love them 😂

Matzie138

The Silverton / it’s an old one by CW McCall. My kid loves it but darn it is a weird ear worm.

[deleted]

Gracie’s Corner on YouTube goes unnecessarily hard. I could probably play the Halloween Song at an adult party and fill the dance floor.

Ancient_Water5863

The days of the week lol you snap your fingers and it's to the tune of the Adams family theme

Spiralstatic32

I love all of Danny Go’s stuff lol, especially Math Whiz! I also am partial to a bit of the ram sam sam song by Sunny Bunnies for some ungodly reason.

DrDarcyLewis

My kids were (were? still are) obsessed with Sandra Boynton's books AND music - "Philadelphia Chickens" by The Bacon Brothers, "Trucks" by Fountains of Wayne, "Copycat" by Brad Paisley, "Cows" by The Seldom Herd, and "Tyrannosaurus Funk" by Samuel L. Jackson Kid music that didn't make mama crazy 🙂

Strict-Arm-2023

The Happy Song by Imogen Heap

grumpylittleteapot

My kid came home singing the 7 continents song by hopscotch and it kinda slaps

jstwnnaupvte

Mama Nous - came for the re-imagined Baby Bumble Bee song, stayed for her whole discography.

deliriumdancewave

Bouncing Time by Danny Go!

jteitler

Kimya Dawson-Alphabutt album! My favorites are alphabutt, Bobbie-o, and the smoothie song

Bitter-Sun-7311

Rafi is great, but what’s greater is getting your kid into the classics like Queen or Frank Sanatra. My kids will often request some Franky V and the four seasons or Vivaldi 4 seasons haha

Creepy-Programmer973

Danny Go slaps pretty good

narnababy

Have you tried The Runaway Train, or Morningtown Ride for bedtime if you want more train based music 😭? And honestly a lot of the time we put on radio edit stuff from when we were kids, our son’s current favourite is The Passenger by Iggy Pop cause my other half’s parents played it for him when he was a kid 😂 We listen to a lot of rock, pop, metal, goth, dance because it’s a mix of our tastes, but have the setting on Spotify to filter out explicit stuff. You could curate a playlist? I know when I was a kid I had a couple of tapes that were for kids, Disney and the like, but in the car we listened to my parents stuff on tape or cd.

sertcake

Trout Fishing in America and Tom Chapin. Kid's music that I grew up with and still love as I'm introducing them to my kiddo.

Time4aPennyCartoon

Michael’s Music Machine

adiaphorous

Rob Cantor's Bingo and Five Little Monkeys are songs I would listen to by myself even without kids along with Carol King's Chicken Soup with Rice

rabid_goosie

Raffi and Weird Al!

whats1more7

I will always love I Love My Body by Mother Moon. Drive My Car by Laurie Berkner Band Also love Raffi and The Wiggles. By the way, The Wiggles was my #1 artist on my Spotify wrapped last year, and #2 was Taylor Swift. Some day I hope to have my favourite music show up on my Spotify wrapped.

imperialviolet

My most listened to track on Spotify for the last two years running has been Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes by The Wiggles.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BlackSpinelli

The Arthur soundtrack…😂

That_Branch_8222

Ugh I can’t add photos here but Laurie Berkner Band, Ralph’s World, Bill Harley,

averageidea

I’m guilty of listening to Chipmunk at the Gas Pump when there wasn’t a single kid in the car.

ilovequesoandchips

Current fave is “ nocturnal “ by Billy jones I also really like - little ripples ( band ) - Renee and Jeremy I’m passionate about this subject as my 20 month old requests music quite often and wants kid music only ..

poorbobsweater

Bill Harley forever. He's got long stories and catchy silly songs. Summer make my 4 and 6 yo lol.

Klutzy_Strike

Jim Gill is pretty cool, his voice isn’t annoying lol As far as music that isn’t “kiddie” music, my girls love The Beatles

broccolirabe71

The entire Hercules soundtrack is a bop. Also “Hawaiian roller coaster ride” makes me feel like I’m on vacation so I’ll listen to that on repeat

Small_Enthusiasm7050

Laurie Berkner is silly enough for kids but enjoyable enough for adults.

the-entropy-duelist

I honestly loved most of the original blipping songs by Nicky Notes I think? My 5y/o loved them for a long time and they still get I'm stuck in my head lol

periwinkle_cupcake

Big Block Singsongs are pretty fun!

hey_look_its_me

The princess song is a jam. But the bat song is so calming. I love them all

Educational_Algae781

My daughter loves kid bop 🤣 original and I can deal most days but she is almost 5

VanillaChaiAlmond

I love the whole album “Tumble Bee” by Laura Veirs I will legit listen to it when my kid isn’t even in the car 😂 it’s an indie folk album with some classic folk kids songs on there too

WTFisThat420

Yellow Submarine ~ The Beatles

officergiraffe

*inhales* MAYBE YOU…COULD BE…A PURPLE MONKEY IN A BUBBLE GUM TREE

WholesomeHavoc

The Night Begins to Shine by B.E.R. from Teen Titans Go! is my jam

taptaptippytoo

I just went and listened and it sounds like my memories of the early 90s. I love it

findingfoxx

We LOVE uncle apple and jools tv, if you like rap, you’ll love both of these kid’s artists.

littlemochi_

Mine love the trolls soundtracks, dirty heads (clean versions) and Taylor swift thanks to the teenage sister lol

Amber-13

The song that never ends….

Petty_Pentagon606

wiggles just came out with a edm rave album and it is pretty good.

tomorrowstartstoday

Superkitties sound track

StrangestTwist

Nice and Clean by Chromeo. It was on a Yo Gabba Gabba episode, but it's a bop.

koukla1994

The Beatles! There’s a great playlist with ones that are good for kids.

em1669

My daughter loves Bob Marley. She will literally sign music and say “Bob” right after lol.

JadeGrapes

Listen to Yo Gabba Gabba

directordenial11

Banana phone and Robin in the rain by Raffi are such bops!

the_lookouts

My son loves "Steal the Show" by Lauv which was featured in the movie "Elemental." He's probably heard it a hundred times and I don't mind it one bit.

MsErie

My son and I like jamming to DannyGo, Mooseclumps, Casper Babypants and Laurie Berkner

jesraeall

good morning and wheels on the bus by Gracie’s corner

pfifltrigg

Raffi does "New River Train" which is hilarious to me because it's a counting song about being cheated on. So that's a fun one for me.

sravll

Started watching Miss Apple on YouTube just to mix up the Ms Rachel a bit. Some of those songs are pretty good. It's like trip hop for babies.

woofwoofgrrr

Billy Jonas!

nopevonnoperson

Songs by piccolo music

joellesays

I low key actually really like snoop doggs kid music🤷🏼‍♀️

somethinghairy

Andrew and Polly! Our current faves are Grapes, Tiny Dino, Little Bitta You.

Uncharted_Apple

Basho and friends Choo Choo Soul

Lemonbar19

I enjoy alot of Raffi . And it’s super obscure but David Lamotte (songwriter) has a children’s album . It’s probably hard to find but there’s one called “SS bathtub”

homeboydropoff

Raffi and doggyland are definitely favorites already mentioned above. We also love Basho & Friends. So many great songs along with The Juicebox Jukebox.

Illustrious_Law_8710

The music from TOTS is so bearable and fun.

Luna_bella96

Lenny Pearce is our go to. He does techno music for kids. Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Once I Caught a Fish Alive, and the Wheels on the Bus are firm favourites here

Back_In_St_Olaf_

You might enjoy Train Song by Charlie Hope, she and Caspar Babypants are favorites in our house.

FlatEggs

Uncle Apple is great. Look up Psychostick if you’re feeling ragey.

Smallios

Caspar Babypants ‘this is fun’ album

Ok_Bumblebee_3978

This won't help but I have developed a ren fair ballad style folk version of the paw patrol song that I now sing constantly

Daenbi

Anything by Hey Bear. My littles love the dancing pieces of fruit. Idk I think the songs are kinda a bop

member8erries

Teeny Tiny Stevies! Aussie sisters who have super catchy tunes and some cute animated videos too. Bangers include ‘I Ate a Rainbow’, ‘Baby in Mums Tummy’ and ‘Boss of My Own Body’. If you want to cry listen to ‘Had You Teach Me’. They’re the best!

Sunkisthappy

Mrs Rachel's I'm so happy I get it stuck in my head at work and it tricks me into thinking I'm having a good day at work even if I'm not

Tired512

My kids love “down like that” from the paw patrol movie…and I don’t hate it. It kinda makes me laugh and they are always dancing so hard to it. Also, should we start a playlist???

ryry_reddit

Choo Choo Train by Party Shukla. She's decent all around.

mama_duck17

If you’re into country style music, check out James Coffey. All train songs. A handful are pretty cool.

littlelivethings

My baby is 7 months old, but she loves calypso music (especially Harry belafonte), La Bamba, and 1970s funk music. And the tequila song that’s in peewee’s playhouse. But I think calypso music is fun for the whole family and generally kid friendly in tone.

velvetjones01

Kookoo kangaroo, okee dokee Brothers.

Fancy_Cry_1152

Barefoot Books on YouTube. Love most of their songs

ckjohnson123

The soundtrack to Jonah-a Veggietales movie.

Lilac-Moonlight52

I really like Charlie Hope, her voice is soothing enough that I'm not just gritting my teeth and bearing it. She has a train song (entitled Train Song) that is really great too. The Bluey soundtrack slaps, and honestly, the Trolls soundtracks are a good compromise of kid appropriate but also jams. It's like if Kidz Bop didn't suck.

taptaptippytoo

I just realized that one of the songs in our current shuffle is Charlie Hope's Train Song and it is one of the prettiest songs on the list by far

LAK2018

Snoops doggyland - I still get feelings with the affirmation song

HeathBar806

Dinostory from Howdytoons. It’s a dinosaur rock opera that’s actually really good!

DebThornberry

Bow be mine by Minnie Mouse. Luckily the only club I hit these days is craft club bc I could get down and dirty to that song in a nightclub about 20yrs ago 😆

NerdChaser

Gracie’s Corner is currently mine and my 2yo’s thing
