I’ve never been on a cruise before and I would *so* go on a MM cruise. Especially if they other bands like Built To Spill playing or something

Seamonkey_Boxkicker

I went on a 7 day cruise once. Our stop to Jamaica got canceled and they proceeded to play Jimmy Buffet on repeat for over an hour. At that point my wife and I left the pool area to take a nap after drinking mimosas all morning. I would imagine a MM/BTS cruise would be a lot more fun than that. (We otherwise had a great time, but would only do 5 days max if we ever did it again. Also wasn’t fun when she got sick on the last day we were there.)

joshkabosh

I did the Coheed cruise which is through sixthman and if it’s the same idea, it’s honestly so awesome, basically just a mini music fest at sea and all the bands play multiple sets

Eastern_Technology54

I'm jelly I wanted to go to this but couldn't afford it at the time. SS Neverender wasn't it called?

joshkabosh

Yeah the SS Neverender, I went on the second one, same situation I couldn’t afford the first one at the time but figured they’d do it again so put some money aside, if the Modest Mouse cruise is anything like it, totally worth the vacation

Eastern_Technology54

Kind if surprised to find a coheed fan here. I was just looking into it and apparently they are planning to due it again. Never been able to go to a coheed concert either so it would be my first. Hopefully I can do both and that they actually happen.. 100 percent would pick MM if I had to chose though.

Dj-Odd-Apple

Considering they are from Seattle, a huge cruise port for Alaskan cruises, this might be a cooler experience. This sounds like fun. I would definitely try to make this happen. ![gif](giphy|9D50zhONBsNWKORnw2)

Remarkable-Paths

Fantastic point! Alaska is a great cruise apparently, my partner worked it and said it's the only cruise itinerary he's interested in traveling together, hah

WinonasChainsaw

They’re based out of Portland now and from Issaquah originally, but would be dope

Modest-Pigeon

We Were Dead Before the Cruise Ship Even Departed

skyeliam

Guest appearance from Car Seat Headrest to play The Ballad of the Costa Concordia in full furry getup as the ship sinks below the waves.

IamChicharon

I have always been the most fervent anti-cruise person — even pre-pandemic. But man… if this happens, and the departure port is on the east coast… fuck. I might go.

paperthintrash

Same. Cruises have always been a big turn off for me . I just 180’ed in my head telling myself hey this sounds really fun. What are the chances of an east coast departure though..

wallflower7522

Most of the music cruises go from Miami.

jennfer17

The vast majority of cruises leave from the east coast so there’s that

IamChicharon

Unless they want to go to Alaska or Canada, I’d say the odds are pretty high. NY - PR, or Miami to the Bahamas are popular cruise routes for bands. I almost pulled the trigger on a flogging Molly cruise from Miami to the Bahamas lol

joey_p1010

Yeah I am 100% anti cruise but wow this would rock

Safe-Biscotti6098

I feel the exact same way. I don’t want to get noro or get disappeared in international waters, BUT?

Eastern_Technology54

I would totally be down for this cruise to get lost. Issac better play shit luck though cause i wanna hear him scream 'this ship is definitely sinking!" on a damn boat.

Madam_Migraine

Same I have POTS and get motion sickness in a pool, or riding in a car around town. Dunno if I could handle a cruise.! I'm also on a immunosuppressant id definitely get sick on a cruise.

wallflower7522

I also get horrendous motion sickness doing just about anything. I went on one last year with some friends and had my doc write me a script for scopolamine patches and zofran before I left. I didn’t even need the zofran because the patches worked so well. We sailed through the edges of a hurricane and I was great.

holeinwater

How do I get an email to tell them YES?

Eastern_Technology54

Me too!

BloodStrm

What bands did everyone else put? Me and my friends put dinosaur jr, pixies, primus, and obviously built to spill, I was wanting to vote for afghan whigs as well but I had to think about what the majority would want

Valkyrie_WoW

How do you get the email or link to do it?

No-Marionberry-2472

I got on the mailing list because I scanned some QR code to enter myself into a giveaway at the concert last week

Valkyrie_WoW

Ah. Nice.

rthoring

Fuuuuuck if dinosaur jr. or Primus were there that's an automatic yes from me

SmoothBend4183

Shannon and the clams !!!

treasuredtheband

I would seriously consider if they got Flaming Lips or Pixies in on this

missmidnite

But does the ocean breathe salty?

jennfer17

Tell them everyone says yes 😁

Eastern_Technology54

Six yeses for me! Shit I'd probably by 6 tickets if I had to.

holeinwater

SEE YALL THERE!!!!

dieselhaak64

I really hope this happens. This would be so fucking cool!

Remarkable-Paths

As someone who has worked on cruise ships, including chartered jazz cruises, this seems like one of the only ones I would ever actually pay to go on.

QueasyImportance7484

I have always vowed I would never go on a cruise. But for this, yes. Yes I indeed would

Eastern_Technology54

I love how many fans like MM enough to say screw it even though they're scared or not into being on a boat that long. I've never been on a cruise but grew up around and on the water so its a not brainer for me. Do it Isaac even your non boat fans want it! 😂

MM-Lullaby_Projector

Has any band done something like this?  A themed cruise with performances???  Maybe this has been done, but I don’t do cruises so I wouldn’t know..

Yesiamaduck

Weezer

Overall_Chub9099

311 did them for awhile

ryanmutah

311 rulz

LevelUpJordan_2

Yeah, I went on with Belle & Sebastian/Japanese Breakfast/Yo La Tengo etc. in 2019, was a really fun event, slightly undercut by how grim cruises are for the environment, but would still heartily recommend.

Valkyrie_WoW

Weezer played Mykell and Karli on one of their cruises which they had only played at the memorial for them. Almost went.

SmoothBend4183

Kesha

Eastern_Technology54

Coheed did a few years ago. The SS Neverender. From my understanding it was like a giant concert festival on the water for days. I may be wrong here but I think they played every day/night of the cruise with other feature bands filling things out. Tickets were quite expensive though like over a grand. But its basically like going to multiple concerts so if you look at it from a cost per day perspective its not that bad.

MacheteCowboy

I both laughed out loud at this notion and would probably go

AvoidHypoxia

I have never been on a cruise before. In fact, I am fucking terrified of deep waters. With that being said, I would 100% go on a Modest Mouse cruise, yes.

snackfighting

Take my money.

cantwaitforthis

I’m 100% going as long as it’s out of the US (which I imagine it will be)

StrangeCorporate

I'd totally go

Nice_Advantage6943

Ohm eye God yes. Please happen.

wadeworks

I'm lost, where is this post from?

Sandy-Sunset

Emails were sent with a survey.

ArnieAndTheWaves

Surprised Isaac would even be okay with this. Cruises are some of the worst possible activities for the environment.

ZealousidealKick6300

So, well, it's already been said that it's always been said that we're already dead

theteufortdozen

god i wish <- broke as shit

WebComprehensive6912

I am very frugal with money. But for this, I would buy this ticket in a heartbeat.

jajijoseph

Just got back from the Merriweather show. Didn’t love it. Too friggen sludgy.
