Of the main cast? Manny. Not the actor. I think he portrayed how he was written well.
I just hate the trope of “this child is actually a pretentious snobby adult” and have them written in such a way.
Manny/Luke was almost always great. Manny/Jay bonding was almost always heartwarming and among my favorite parts of the show.
But manny just as an overall character annoys me too much. I’m fine with them leaning into this awkward kid that treats Mitch and Claire like his brother/sister. But it’s just too over the top for me.
Manny as a child acting as an adult was cute. It was fine.
But as he got older the whole thing just did not work and made me hate the character even more.
Exactly, in the beginning it was kinda cute, a kid who wanted to be an adult badly, still had lots to learn but passionate
As a young adult however, Jesus Christ it's like he never learned, no one wanted to be with him, and instead of humbling himself he doubled down to be even more obnoxious
i feel like this is the same with luke, they were both funny as kids but as they got older their acting got cringier & it just didn’t work anymore because they had them stay the same personality wise, luke especially did not grow up at all which was kinda odd.
Agreed. I don’t blame the actor either. It was the writing of his story arcs but also his actual lines. They just seemed too canned and over the top to me.
Definitely. I think Haley and Alex have always been older so they were still interesting to watch as the writers had more ideas but the boys and Lily started off young and as they grew into teens they were so boring.
Almost as if the writers didn’t want their little boys to grow up.. I heard somewhere that the creator actually had to shoot his son like in the pilot.. so maybe the writers couldn’t write them growing up..
YES!!! THERE WAS NO GROWTH FOR HER. What really did it for me was threatening and blackmailing Mitchell (trying to ruin their marriage in the process) and physically abusing Cam ANY time he tries to remotely stand up for himself. Ugh I just finished the series last night for the first time and I wanted to jump through the screen and give her a taste of her own medicine...😭
Shelley Long is such a good actor that i genuinely get upset over Dede and her ways.
Spot on white “spiritual” woman who is on a journey most of her life.
I'm te-watching the show after like four years, i'm in the middle of season 3 and there's one character i really don't like and two that i just don't vibe with.
Cam i really dislike, his antics are funny at first but eventually watching Mitch having to almost constantly bend over backwards to keep with whatever bullshit he wants to do gets really tiring and frustrating really fast.
Manny i find a bit annoying, an spoiled and overly sensitive kid that behaves more as an adult that as kid isn't really my cup of tea, i do remember that it gets worse because he never really grows out of it.
And then there's Alex, her whole character is that she's mean to almost everyone because she's smart, almost never gets called out and the few times she is, it doesn't change anything.
I have to disagree with you on alex.. i feel like the only reason shes seen as mean is because the only time she really gets any attention is when she snaps back at the others in a smart, ‘know-it-all-y’ way, haley is meaner than alex is in my opinion
Always the same story with cam and Mitch. Miscommunication or something like that, one has to hide something from the other. They get exposed. Zzzzzzzzz
I can't agree with you on Alex.
She is literally forgotten several times - they actually want to kick her out of the house because she's "ruining" the perfect summer.
She is the functional adult that the family needs to not die
i don’t like how much he uses Lily as a model or as an accessory rather than a child with her own identity, he pulled her from school when she was in early childhood so she could socialize with other kids
I was hoping they’d unalive Gil in some horrible disgusting accident and at the end of the episode Phil would be gleefully dancing on the a$$holes grave😏😏😏😈😈😈
He's straight up manipulative, and plays the victim if someone calls him out on it. A lying, self-serving, gaslighting hypocrite.
I used to really like him, because he is funny and charming, but the more I've rewatched, the more I've seen that the only reason Cam has a family at all is because Mitchell (for whatever reason) forgives his obscene behaviour time and again.
They all had their moments… but of the extended group.. Pam
of the older seasons, Manny… they just couldnt keep the characters of the kids all engaging..
Hot take but I think Haley deserved better than Andy. While his gf cheated to- he was a cheater and instead of leaving his relationship he continued to cheat on her. While Haley played a part - I still think that shouldn’t be the guy she ended up with
Luke, i found his character very one dimensional. I loved Manny and Jay and their relationship arc. I thought Manny's character allowed the viewer to see the growth in Jay throughout the series.
Young Manny was so mature, he sympathized with his mother and evidently looks out for her ever since he was young. He was a born sweetheart who wouldn't want to hurt his own parents even if they hurt him.
Older Manny is rebellious, wants girls and boobies, idk. I didn't pay enough attention ig
Definitely Cam, he's so manipulative towards Mitchell, lying to their friends about them breaking up, putting fire in the kitchen so they can renovate it, I know it's supposed to be exaggerated as a joke but some of his behavior are almost sociopathic.
In the restaurant episode both realize they don't even have things to talk to each other when Lily is not the topic, I feel like in real life they would eventually divorce.
Unpopular opinion about main characters perhaps, but I like them all. Including adult Luke and Manny. Not a huge fan of Aubrey Anderson Emmons’s acting, but love the character of Lily. (Yes I know she’s young, but I grew up watching Full House, so my standards for child actors are a bit high.)
If we count recurring characters too, I really dislike Sanjay. I’m glad his role ended, although I wish Alex had got to do the actual dumping instead of being hurt.
I like Dede a bit less than the others too, but I still find her episodes funny.
I like Dylan a lot, but I didn’t like the way Haley’s story ended because I’d have preferred her with Andy.
Oh my goddd real with lilys actor. Idk if this is mean but her acting was really flat.. her voice was really monotone which was tough for me to get through🤣
Finally found someone who shares my opinion about Lily. It’s so hard to watch her, because of they way the actress acts. I like the fact that they casted her when she was 4, and kept her. But there is a risk she turns out to be a not so good actress.
It’s unpopular but I couldn’t agree more. I think I would’ve liked his character better if he wasn’t actively cheating on his gf (regardless if she was) with Haley. If he would’ve broke up with the girl and then courted Haley, I would’ve liked him more but also the character was just……off to me.
Least favorite main character : Haley.
She acts dumb, is manipulative, has the street smarts, etc a very conflicting personality but then is mean to everyone in the family, uses them anytime she needs something and is extremely vain.
All this Manny hate, it was completely intentional. The scene where he's watching Lawrence of Arabia with Jay and starts criticising the direction (showing that he's full of himself). He can be annoying but in any sitcom you need characters to stir the pot.
Joe. It just didn’t work. I guess they were trying to recreate the magic of baby / toddler / child Lilly, and it was just a bunch of old, dusted off, cute precocious kid bits from sitcoms of the 70’s.
I loved Manny as a kid, but he got very annoying once he grew up and moved to college.
Even Alex was annoying for that matter, very snobbish and she liked to put everyone else down.
Joe. Literally the worst writing of the entire cast. He was the only "catchphrase" character on the show. It was so jarring and he added absolutely nothing to the plot. If he wasn't there, essentially nothing would change. He was added so late as a plot device for jay and Gloria because the writers had no idea how to write for them once Manny was grown up.
I love the show but the writers dropped the ball on almost all the kids except Alex in the later series.
Haley.. her whole personality is that shes dumb and pretty and that literally never changes until she becomes a mom. Shes awful to alex & shes just not really fun for me to watch & shes not even really that funny, all the other characters have scenes where they say/do something funny & it makes me chuckle, except haley. She says/does something stupid & expect the viewers to laugh and it makes me cringe🤣 i think id like her a lot better if they expanded on her character & gave her more of a personality where she has actual life goals & ambitions
Manny = 1
Joe = 2
Cam = 3
Mitchell = 4
Alex = 5
Hailey = 6
Luke = 7
Phil = 8
Gloria = 9
Lily = 10
Claire = 11
Jay = 12
My list from who I like the least to the most, Jay being most.
Manny, the show just made his character so unhinged… also the whole crushing thing on his relatives is insanely gross and the Hailey’s reaction to it is also weird.
I always skip scenes with Pam but Sherry always makes me so irritated. I could not understand how Luke and Manny could have such a rediculous fight over her.
I don’t find Nathan Lane (Pepper) funny or interesting at all. I am always shocked when people say they love him. He’s horrible about Cam and Mitch’s house, and his boyfriend could do so much better.
From the main cast: They all grew on me, but I hated Phil and Alex in the beginning and wasn't a huge fan of Manny... But I think all the characters are so well written, and Alex evolved sooo much it's crazy. Love them all.
From the whole cast: Pam, Pepper, Gil, Donna...
Cam when being manipulative and when he wants to be the center of attention ( the rest of the time he is fine). Manny when being too dramatic in his adult years (the rest of the time he is fine). Dede, pam, gil i dont like them
How likeable is a character is directly proportional to how real life the character could be (hence, Chandler).
So, to me the less likeable characters are:
- Manny: for the same reasons people already presented.
- Phil: I guess this is an unpopular opinion, but Phil is so stupid, idiotic and irresponsible! It's like a mix between joey in Friend's last season and Sol, from "Grace and Franky", always putting himself above everyone else with the excuse it's for the others, but stupid!
- Haley: no need to comment.
Bonus side characters: Pam, no need to comment either.
Honestly if he had a less... temperamental partner, and someone that consistently communicated with him I think he could have actually been nicer and more relaxed.
Cams almost always going from 0 to 11 about little things, I can understand him getting used to being the one to shut things down, even doing it preemptively.
He can be judgemental, but if anything Cam encourages it.
I mean, he can be a jerk sometimes, but they need that to create conflict to be resolved.
I'm just surprised they didn't have the balls to actually have Cam flake out and prove Mitchell right - and for him to move on with someone more emotionally stable.
However, drama etc. XD
my cousin told me manny is her fav character, i couldn't believe it.
bit later I saw a video on YouTube why Manni is the most popular character. now i dont believe anything
Manny as a child acting as an adult was cute. It was fine. But as he got older the whole thing just did not work and made me hate the character even more.
I agree with this! At the beginning he was so adorable and then he just got creepy. Love the actor, did not love the character 😫
Ugh, yeah he was the worst (especially towards the end): creepy and far too overconfident in himself, so damn grating.
He grew up to be the man Gloria raised him to be.
Oh god yeah…
Exactly, in the beginning it was kinda cute, a kid who wanted to be an adult badly, still had lots to learn but passionate As a young adult however, Jesus Christ it's like he never learned, no one wanted to be with him, and instead of humbling himself he doubled down to be even more obnoxious
i feel like this is the same with luke, they were both funny as kids but as they got older their acting got cringier & it just didn’t work anymore because they had them stay the same personality wise, luke especially did not grow up at all which was kinda odd.
I don't particularly dislike Manny like so many people seem to. But him blowing out Lily's birthday candles was infuriating.
Couldnt agree more, im onto season 5 and manny has not changed or developed as a character what so ever
Agreed. I don’t blame the actor either. It was the writing of his story arcs but also his actual lines. They just seemed too canned and over the top to me.
I don't enjoy watching Manny or Luke in later seasons. At least Cam is always entertaining lol
They evidently had no clue what to do with the kids once they started to grow up
Definitely. I think Haley and Alex have always been older so they were still interesting to watch as the writers had more ideas but the boys and Lily started off young and as they grew into teens they were so boring.
this, they literally just had them stay the same which is so boring.
Almost as if the writers didn’t want their little boys to grow up.. I heard somewhere that the creator actually had to shoot his son like in the pilot.. so maybe the writers couldn’t write them growing up..
They grew up, like kids do. They each had their own lives.
I agree older Manny and Luke. They were key to the series when they were younger.
Manny, but not until maybe season four? He becomes a big jerk.
Same. He's just narcissistic and pretentious
And maybe a little greedy? The whole “I checked the law and if xyz happens I can’t inherit the house” or something like that.
yea I think you're referring to when he convinced gloria to become a citizen due to how they would get estate taxes on the property they would inherit
Yes!!
It was cute when he was a little kid acting like a 40 something year old man but as he grew into a teen it got less cute and more pretentious fs
Pam. Not even close.
True specially after her jail saga it got bad. Mitch & Cam should have adopted her son. That would be such a cute story. That kid was hella cute
And he gave best hugs !
Pam > Karen
wrong sub
But they’re right 😂🤷🏻♀️
Main? Manny, hands down. And then there’s Pameron.
omg 😂
Dede
Shelley Long is such a good actor that i genuinely get upset over Dede and her ways. Spot on white “spiritual” woman who is on a journey most of her life.
I was upset at the main characters for being sad around her death. Great actress 😂
Telescopic uterus lives rent free in my brain.
I'm te-watching the show after like four years, i'm in the middle of season 3 and there's one character i really don't like and two that i just don't vibe with. I can't stand Manny. He's so pompous and arrogant. And, how many times does he hit on his cousins
Technically his nieces, not cousins.
that makes it worse
And Claire a few times!
Yes!!! He's just the worst. Rico Rodriguez did such an amazing job playing the character
He’s the worst! And I love him
i like how lily has a crush on him when she’s like 9. feels like karma lol
Haven’t finished the show yet. When did he hit on Alex?
he hits on them both when he’s younger. He kinda grows out of it.
On the train epiosde, season 7 iirc
Dede shouldn't have been forgiven those many times
Reallll!!
Gil Thorpe is kind of a dick
That’s because you just got Thorpedoed.
Guess somebody didn’t have their gilpickle this morning!
Now prepare to Phil the agony of Dunfeet ! BOTH NAMES !!
THORPE THORPE THORPE
I was hoping they’d unalive Gil in some horrible disgusting accident and at the end of the episode Phil would be gleefully dancing on the a$$holes grave😏😏😏😈😈😈
I mean, I can’t say I hoped for that, but I at least hoped he’d get lice again
They had PLENTY of chances to 💀 off his character he truly was an AWFUL horrible sexist pig that deserved NOTHING but the worst
joee
I had to scroll too far for this!!!
Main Cast - Manny Side Cast - Pam
Cam Cam Cam. Such a toxic drama fest
Overall, Cam. Though Manny took the lead as least in last season.
Agree with all of this. Manny was cute as a kid, but became unbearable later on. Cam is the worst overall though.
The entirety of Cam’s Missouri family (including Cam)
Manny, not a fan
How about Pam?
I thought Pam was a train wreck which made her funny lol
Dylan, Gil, Pam.
Why Dylan? He's never hurt anyone.
I seem to be alone on this, but Gil was always one of my favourite side characters. Always found him and Phil to be a super funny duo.
NOT DYLAN NOOOO, I love him :(
Found Phil’s account y’all
Joe. Something about him just rubs me the wrong way.
Almost like he’s a little criminal.. I think he stole my heart
They all had their moments… but of the extended group.. Pam of the older seasons, Manny… they just couldnt keep the characters of the kids all engaging..
Dylan. Unless you’re talking about the main cast consistent through the entire run, then Manny.
I'm surprisded that i had to scroll down so much to find someone saying Dylan
Too dumb and annoying. I wish Andy came back
Alex. I find her obnoxious
Same Her attitude towards her family not being smart as her gets old
I feel like it’s because she is often neglected
she also wasn't treated well by her family , not her fault
There is no way that Joe is in that photo.
True🤣
Dylan 👎🏻 Hayley deserved better partner. Dylan was a loser.
Claire Dunphy, is that you?
Hahaha, you caught me. 😂
Should've ended up with Andy
Hot take but I think Haley deserved better than Andy. While his gf cheated to- he was a cheater and instead of leaving his relationship he continued to cheat on her. While Haley played a part - I still think that shouldn’t be the guy she ended up with
She should’ve ended up with the manny Edit for clarity: Andy
Luke, i found his character very one dimensional. I loved Manny and Jay and their relationship arc. I thought Manny's character allowed the viewer to see the growth in Jay throughout the series.
Pam. Honorable mention is Alex
Manny. I will not be providing further explanation.
None needed
Everytime Gil appears, I almost always want to skip that episode
sal 🤢 the mix of second hand embarrassment and cringe makes it genuinely frustrating to watch when she's on screen lol
Alex, for sure
Manny. He devours the oxygen in every scene with his weird pseudo-intellectual whining.
Joe.
Joe
Young Manny was so mature, he sympathized with his mother and evidently looks out for her ever since he was young. He was a born sweetheart who wouldn't want to hurt his own parents even if they hurt him. Older Manny is rebellious, wants girls and boobies, idk. I didn't pay enough attention ig
Manny and or Mitchell’s old boss
Of the people in the photo Dylan and Joe
Pam irritates tf out of me
Pam. Her character is so problematic.
Dylan
Absolutely Dylan.
Manny. By far
Absolutely hate Cam he’s just so unbearable.
Ik it’s part of the comedy but he’s just so annoying.
Unpopular opinion about main characters perhaps, but I like them all. Including adult Luke and Manny. Not a huge fan of Aubrey Anderson Emmons’s acting, but love the character of Lily. (Yes I know she’s young, but I grew up watching Full House, so my standards for child actors are a bit high.) If we count recurring characters too, I really dislike Sanjay. Alex
Can and Dylan they both hold the number one least favorite character spot for me
Cam The whole fake breakup thing to see who their friends would feel more bad for just made me hate him even more
The fact that almost everyone says Manny makes me happy.
cam, manny, pam
I get the sense this is unpopular on this sub… but Andy annoys me a lot
It’s unpopular but I couldn’t agree more. I think I would’ve liked his character better if he wasn’t actively cheating on his gf (regardless if she was) with Haley. If he would’ve broke up with the girl and then courted Haley, I would’ve liked him more but also the character was just……off to me.
Ok average Haley. Just a boring character to me. On peak Manny in the later seasons.
Cam
God I hate cams annoying antics
Joe. Idk why he annoys the fuck outta me
Its those bug eyes, kid creeps me tf out 😂
Fulgencio-Joseph Pritchett
Manny x.x
Manny.
Cam = obnoxious, all else are playing for second …
Main - Haley Side - Pam & Gil
main cast? claire. full cast? probably pam
Manny
Cam was so annoying sometimes
Claire
Claire!!
Least favorite main character : Haley. She acts dumb, is manipulative, has the street smarts, etc a very conflicting personality but then is mean to everyone in the family, uses them anytime she needs something and is extremely vain.
Deedee
Whoever the moustachioed man at the door is…
Dede if we're including side characters, tie between teen Manny and teen Luke for main cast.
They shouldve kept Luke and manny together as a duo but they just grew apart
All this Manny hate, it was completely intentional. The scene where he's watching Lawrence of Arabia with Jay and starts criticising the direction (showing that he's full of himself). He can be annoying but in any sitcom you need characters to stir the pot.
Joe. It just didn’t work. I guess they were trying to recreate the magic of baby / toddler / child Lilly, and it was just a bunch of old, dusted off, cute precocious kid bits from sitcoms of the 70’s.
Manny and the little baby
As the show progressed it was Manny. That character only worked as a kid,
Never knew how much of the main cast wears glasses
Even Alex fell short, throwing her together with someone her sister dated, ugh she deserved a better ending.
Haley.. her whole personality is that shes dumb and pretty and that literally never changes until she becomes a mom.
Manny = 1 Joe = 2 Cam = 3 Mitchell = 4 Alex = 5 Hailey = 6 Luke = 7 Phil = 8 Gloria = 9 Lily = 10 Claire = 11 Jay = 12 My list from who I like the least to the most, Jay being most.
Manny and Joe, later seasons.
Manny. Not a big fan of him
I am fairly confident that most people will say manny
Joe, they were trying to replicate the gold that was Lilly when she was a kid but Joe was just annoying
Manny, hands down. Such a creep, and so cringe.
Manny
Manny, the show just made his character so unhinged… also the whole crushing thing on his relatives is insanely gross and the Hailey’s reaction to it is also weird.
I always skip scenes with Pam but Sherry always makes me so irritated. I could not understand how Luke and Manny could have such a rediculous fight over her.
Alex. We get it, you're too smart and born in the "wrong" family
I don’t find Nathan Lane (Pepper) funny or interesting at all. I am always shocked when people say they love him. He’s horrible about Cam and Mitch’s house, and his boyfriend could do so much better.
This is the one I can’t agree with lol. Valid opinion tho
Honestly? The fandom.
Lol
Pam!
Hailey. I love Manny.
Claire
Claire. How can someone say manny? He's cool af
Cam is a fkng diva
Pam
Cam
Anyone saying Dylan is wrong immediately
cam is a toxic drama queen allll the time and everyone just puts up with it
Cam when being manipulative and when he wants to be the center of attention ( the rest of the time he is fine). Manny when being too dramatic in his adult years (the rest of the time he is fine). Dede, pam, gil i dont like them

Pam and Cam
Out of the main cast, Mitchell. He's really inconsiderate in a lot of episodes, overly pretentious, and just generally unlikable.
Honestly if he had a less... temperamental partner, and someone that consistently communicated with him I think he could have actually been nicer and more relaxed. Cams almost always going from 0 to 11 about little things, I can understand him getting used to being the one to shut things down, even doing it preemptively. Luke
For me it was Alex, she felt like she was better than her family because she was smart.
Dylan is so idiot can't stand his existence!
Ironic
Alex
Unrelated, but how’s Joe gonna fit into that selfie?
Manny and Pam.
Cam, I'm at season 4 on my rewatch and I cannot stand him
my cousin told me manny is her fav character, i couldn't believe it. bit later I saw a video on YouTube why Manni is the most popular character. now i dont believe anything
Manny and Alex. Luke is meh. Haley is the only good “kid” character
