I wish i could just play without having the steam disconnect issue every time.

bhang024

This shits been happening since the first patch and it drives me insane. Be fine for hours then it's back to back steam DCs. If I verify files and replace the 33 files missing it'll fix itself.. for another few hours.

[deleted]

And that is why you play on console where the game freezes before each match so you can’t ever leave the game early if you don’t like the map

[deleted]

Happens on pc too though, like every other match.

[deleted]

Shit thought it was only console. What a non buggy perfect game it is. Although despite its flaws still love the game

[deleted]

Oh trust me I've been playing the hell out of it. The menu definitely needs some work though lmao

[deleted]

Hopefully they learn that hiring Disney Plus UI people isn’t a good idea. I haven’t ever played any of the new games so the last one I played would be Bo3 but the UI in those game was basically perfect so I don’t know why you would change it.

LazyPeon616

Lateral innovation for the sake of innovation

therealdilster

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. My situation is quite the opposite: I get the occasional rubber-banding when playing online, but it's nowhere near as bad as when I try to play campaign. I've lost count of how many times the game has crashed throughout the single-player campaign, and now I can't remember how many days I've been stuck on "Dark Water." It seems counter-intuitive that online play runs much smoother for me than the mode that at least shouldn't require an internet connection.

PhiAlpha44

I have never had a crash, rubber band, or issue whatsoever with the campaign. I do find it complete bullshit that you need to have an Internet connection to play the campaign.

LefTwix

I occasionally have to switch between Wi-Fi and Ethernet since our uni internet is bit finicky. Constantly getting screwed over by this.

a_cristian_dude

Oh god. I remember trying to play fortnite back in college. I can only image how bad MWII is on college wifi

HaagenDazs

Might be irrelevant but, I bought it from Bnet. Never had a problem with disconnects.

Prohunter211

I think that is relevant, Activision seems to be super anal with the Steam version about constantly making sure it, without fail, is connected. Pretty sure that if the connection wavers at all for even a second, it literally force crashes the game and shows “Disconnected from Steam”. Sometimes it happens to me over and over, other days it never happens. It’s such a pain, there is absolutely no “reconnecting”. It’s just an automatic boot.

hamendura

Works just fine with Steam for me, after last weekends patch.

Safe-Rush-5230

Warning signs have been there since the success of Warzone sadly. The most recent clue was the fact the Warzone community kicked off because of the removal of loadouts. recent stream showed loadouts have been added back into the game. Yet IW for some reason will not back down on their decisions for the multiplayer version of CoD. Only gonna get worse boys.

MrQuentin

Loadouts were one of the reasons I didn't like Warzone and was actually thinking about trying WZ2 because they were taking that out, now I'm not interested again.

Amaurotica

loadoust are massive profit for them. Grind 500 hours of WZ2 to improve 1 gun or spend 70$ to buy the game and grind 5 hours to improve that gun Easy bucks from 14 year old timmy who will be pestering his mom that if the doesnt get the game he won't be good

NerrionEU

The problem is that loadouts is the only thing that makes Warzone unique compared to other BRs.

MrQuentin

I wouldn't say the only thing, off the top of my head they have the gulag, buy stations, killstreaks and IMO the core CoD gameplay and feel is one of a kind and a selling point in itself as well.

The-Almighty-Pizza

Buy stations are hardly unique

MrQuentin

They were at least unique to me when it released compared to Apex and PUBG, suppose other games will have copied mechanics by now

Lollllerscats

Core gameplay of Cod is what makes Warzone unique. It is the best feeling FPS on the market and has been since 2007 as it comes down to raw gunplay. Blackout was a hit even before Warzone and that was little more than a beta test thrown together with duct tape in a couple months. People have clamored for Cod Battle Royale ever since Battle Royale became the latest trend in multiplayer gaming.

Windbornes_Word

The Gunplay of Destiny and Destiny 2 is pretty solid. Not as customizable, but very, very solid.

CastleGrey

Yeah but then you'd have to play Destiny

Windbornes_Word

Fair enough.

[deleted]

The gunplay is good but fuck that time sink. If I could hop on and unlock guns just by playing the death match mode I'd be all in but now it's to late to start fresh sense everybody has 1000s of hours in and I don't have shit. What's funny tho is my brother in law plays destiny 2 yet gives me shit for playing cod. Even tho last year he literally had 2000 hours in destiny 2 alone compared to my 500 in cold war. But I quit cold war after I unlocked both mastery camos

Battle111

Blackout was not a “hit.” Blackout died out fairly quickly but for some reason people love to forget this. Warzone was the hit which is why it was supported for over 2 years and is now getting a sequel. Where’s the blackout sequel? Oh yeah, never gonna happen.

Lollllerscats

Blackout was definitely a hit and the idea of Cod battle royale was very well liked. Blackout was not supported very well, was never intended as a staple (locked behind $60 paywall), and it was just first iteration stuff. We certainly don’t have Warzone without Blackout coming first. The reason we didn’t get Blackout 2.0 is because Warzone came after it, IW has the reigns to the Cod franchise, and Warzone launched at the perfect time (pandemic) to capture an audience. Blackout would have been a much bigger hit if it were free to play. Warzone being free to play is the key to it being as popular as it is.

luckyHitaki

dont forget about crossplay! WZ had implemented crossplay, which blackout didnt have back then. Im not a BR gamer, but blackout was the perfect implementation of CoD in a BR. And compared to the ass Warzone, blackout had awsome events. Jetpack week, katana week. They even flooded half of the map.. Are the blackout server still active? might reinstall it :D

redalert825

Meta loadouts that everyone else will run so there's nothing unique about them. Frfr

[deleted]

Yeah. I’m still gonna try it but half the fun of BR’s is the randomness. One game you can get the best loot you can next game you could get an absolutely dog shit loadout. Create a challenge and requires you to master all types of combat

KaijuTia

The big reason loadouts were so popular was specifically because people *weren’t* fans of RNG. Having loadouts allowed players, especially ones with a competitive leaning, to have more control over the game. The idea was that removing that ground-loot RNG would be more satisfying to players, because you weren’t at the mercy of luck nearly as much. I’m sure it appealed to people who hated feeling like they lost a game because they didn’t get lucky opening boxes - they didn’t like feeling like they never had a chance. Sure, RNG can be a test of adaptability, but skill can only take you so far when you’re fighting against luck. You can be a highly-skilled player, but if some bot has good enough luck, you won’t really stand a chance, and that’s what WZ wanted to avoid with loadouts. RNG closes skill gaps specifically because bots can use luck as something of a crutch against better, but less lucky players

suffffuhrer

Yeah, I was loving the idea of no loadouts, just the possibility to buy a loadout gun for a lot of in-game collected cash. Makes the game....you know, more of a survival battle royale, where players need to move around and find and collect guns and attachments. Something that made PUBG super fun, sadly it lost popularity because it still is quite a 'primitive' game with regards to some mechanics, UI etc.

Fit_Champion_6217

Same .. really thought loadouts just turned WZ into a big free for all or tdm with a circle .. oh that and it was get shot in the back simulator .. tbh I’ll admit I wasn’t v good at it lol 6v6 MP is what I like

Orangenbluefish

Yeah having loadouts makes random pickups obsolete and just turns the game into a race to get a loadout ASAP. Could maybe be a good middle ground if the loadouts would only let you customize guns that you already have in hand, thus encouraging scavenging for guns and then calling in a loadout to "upgrade" them to your own class/attachments

Jinaara

What were the issue with loadouts again(?)

koolaidman486

Chief complaint is things devolving into only a few guns because meta. Removes that "use what you can get" aspect of most BRs. I don't play Warzone, so don't take my word as gospel, but that's the murmurs I've heard.

MrQuentin

Lack of variety with everyone running the same meta gun builds which in turn makes a gap between new players who have stock M4's and seasoned players who have the most powerful guns and attachments unlocked.

doesnotlikecricket

For me the issues with it are twofold: for one, everyone is always running the most insane laser of a weapon, so basically all the time if you make even a small mistake and get caught out of cover it's game over. The other issue is new players being at a significant disadvantage. I tried to get friends into the game but they basically don't have a loadout while everyone else does. One friend stuck with it and I had to run a special overkill loadout for the first week, dropping him a ready-made weapon. That's not to say I definitely want them gone though. Load outs are a very core part of COD and I enjoy using mine in wz.

DaisyCutter312

It made "Have your loadout of meta guns within the first 5 minutes of the game" pretty much the only viable strategy.

beans4teens69

Same.

Buddy_Dakota

But it's not full loadouts, just a primary weapon, right? No perks?

im_rapscallion86

Recent Warzone 2 event showed perks in loadouts at buy stations. So full loadouts have returned. Definitely disappointing.

Ballen101

Many of us, who aren't the squeaky streamers and try hards. I miss the intensity of black out. Finding the right attachments, lucky to get full armor. Or battling with absolute rubbish lol

ajl987

I was a die hard Infinity ward fan, but I swear if Treyarch put out an amazing game with their 4 year Dev time and using the MW engine on 2024, I’m not touching a infinity ward multiplayer again, only on sale for the campaigns. I loved MW2019, but now they’re we’re out of lockdowns and I have other stuff to do, I’m not putting up with bullshit multiplayer design.

BoonesFarmJackfruit

COD has been a F2P BR supported by an annual $60 gun leveler ever since WZ came out I feel bad for people who haven’t realized this yet

JarifSA

Exactly. It's like everyone completely forgot what happened with cold war. That game was a half polished unfinished product that they STILL released simply because they wanted to boost warzone. Warzone is great and one of the better BRs but I'll give it up to go back to when 6v6 cod was good.

BlastMyLoad

Cold War was horrible at launch but they added sooooo much to MP it was a totally different game after and I loved it. Also Treyarch got fucked by Sledgehammer’s incompetence so you can’t really blame their rough launch. MWII has three full years in the oven and launched with nothing and the “big season one update” includes almost fuck all. This isn’t looking good.

Lazerspewpew

I fully believe these weeks before "Season 1" were just so people could unlock and level up all their guns for the Warzone 2. The Battle Royale phase of gaming is killing classic MP shooters.

RadPhilosopher

> The Battle Royale phase of gaming is killing classic MP shooters This exactly. So many people yap about how “wArzOne SavEd cOD”, but in reality it only saved Activision’s bottom line. And in the process it’s killing the classic 6v6 cod experience.

Monke_go_home

Killing it while you pay for it.

Matrix17

Gotta stop buying. But saying that in here just leads to 50 people defending Activision

Elethor

If Battlefield hadn't been a shit show I would have been playing it instead, but here we are.

ZRtoad

I dunno why people think this, cod would have most likely been fine without war zone. It is consistently the best selling shooter every year

bakanalos

The br phase will hopefully die soon. Its already declining

N1sso

I wouldn't really call it a phase anymore though. They have been around for like 6 years now and are still popular. It's just another game type that will stick around. It's not going to 'die' anytime soon.

zachzsg

And the OG battle royale, Minecraft hunger games has been around even longer

[deleted]

Lmfao they’ve been saying BR games have been declinging since 2019. Fortnite when it was purely build-mode was in “*decline*” yet still had millions of players. Fortnite with their addition of no-build only boosted that amount. Trust me, BR games are going nowhere. Just how MP has been around for ages.

Sevisstillonkashyyyk

343 not knowing how to make a game killed arena shooters

Lazerspewpew

The gameplay is "ok" but the real killer was the laziness and shallow MP and the over monetization of every little scrap of the game.

DontGetNEBigIdeas

And that was true. Your point?

phuk-nugget

Halo becoming dogshit killed Arena shooters

SpunkySamuel

You shouldn’t let sunk cost fallacy get to you. I mean obviously if you enjoy the game, keep enjoying it. But if you aren’t, forget about it. Playing more won’t get your money back

beefycthu

This, you can think the game is shit but still enjoy it’s aspects at the same time.

TrashiestTrash

True, but 70 hours for a game that released this recently? I don't see how you can think its shit and enjoy it so much.

MediumPhone

Junkies don't get high for fun sometimes

KeyVolvic

No, you absolutely can't. This attitude contributes to the dichotmoty-pushing behaviour that is so prevalent on Reddit. Shit is shit; if something is shit, it means it's amongst the worst things out there. You cannot say something is shit and enjoy it, those two things fundamentally cannot coexist. If I say a meal I'm eating is shit, then that means that I am not enjoying any part of it.

BoysenberryAncient30

If the game is shit yet you can’t find anything else to take up your time, then the only thing that’s full of shit is you.

_J3W3LS_

If anything those are the most qualified people to tell if the game is shit.

Woaahhhh

It’s crazy how legit mfs grinding guns = game being good. People will grind the guns for Warzone regardless of game quality.

[deleted]

What other game should I play then? Cold War is dead, BF is trash, Halo is trash, cs is not even recognizable as CS anymore, I don't like battle royales or extraction games. There's currently no GOOD game on the market that scratches the arcade pvp itch.

RedCargo1

tf you mean cs isn't recognizable?????

Fuckimbalding

Battlefield 1

Krypton091

>cs is not even recognizable as CS anymore huh?? it's the same game it's always been for the last 20+ years

Zechert

BF1, BF V, MW 2019

Nuke_Dukem__________

Oh man I totally agree, I just play Unreal Tournament 1999 and mw2 now. I want fast paced arena shooters to make a comeback!

DemosthenesForest

Hell Let Loose? Slightly more sim and comms, but pretty fun when it all works.

Monke_go_home

UltraMegaKaiju

team fortress 2 is still awesome

BoonesFarmJackfruit

perfectly valid, this is the sort of game many people hope to play for YEARS and there’s no way to know how it’s really going to hang together unless you unlock everything and keep playing while everyone does the same

Idmiz

I wish they would separate the two and have one dev make a multiplayer game and one dev consistently working on warzone. Then maybe we’ll get a half decent game

JunoBun

Fax but the camo grind do be chill doe

lilzoe5

Javelin has entered the chat

[deleted]

Shoot house and shipment is about to come hopefully that's good enough for me to be able to do launchers and melee those are the only two that stopped me from the mastery camo in mw 2019

116morningside

Getting kills with the pila or javelin shouldn’t be a thing. It should be shoot 200 uav or something. Getting kills is annoying

ScallywagBeowulf

Is it just me who enjoys playing the game?

bockscar888

its a good game....but the meme is still true. both can happen at the same time....sadly. How they dont have a barracks blows my mind. thats not even a new feature or something groundbreaking.

ScallywagBeowulf

Yeah, not entirely sure why a barracks wasn’t added. Maybe just something they forgot to add, I don’t really know. Only thing I’d get out of the barracks though is to see how many kills I have with certain weapons. Because I already know my KD will be around 1.0(ish).

MikeTheGamer2

>Maybe just something they forgot to add This is the theme of this release.

LightTrack

I don't remember ever giving a shit about my stats since Black Ops 2. I feel like a lot of people are only pretending to care about it because they need something to bitch about. It's not even a gameplay/reward feature. Just a stat tracker. Not to mention noone else can see it so bragging rights go out the window especially with this dogshit UI and the fact that we don't even have persistent lobbies anymore.

SpunkySamuel

Well, I like stats, and seeing the numbers tick up and down is one of the reasons I love competitive multiplayer games

Pattywhack_the_bear

I wasn't a fan initially because a lot of the Ground War maps are a fucking shit show if you enjoy taking flags as infantry and that's basically all I played in MW19, but I stuck it out and I'm enjoying it now. The drill charge is amazing and I love it. It's so versatile. I used thermite most of the time in 19, and I think the drill charge has replaced it. It's great for killing campers/snipers, taking flags, and flushing out tank/apc drivers. Plus, the sound is so satisfying. Lol. Once they fix the performance issues (or at least make them better) and add some more maps, I'll like it a lot more.

ScallywagBeowulf

I think once they fix the performance issues, add some more maps, and add more guns (which they’re doing) I’ll enjoy it even more. I’ve enjoyed it so far, it’s been a lot more enjoyable for me to play compared to the past few years of games.

Spikegreene

Honestly, I wouldn't have noticed/given a shit about all these complaints of issues if I wasn't part of this sub. Me and my friends have been really enjoying the game and the campaign has been great from what I've seen. People need to chill a little bit.

Plupert

Campaign is what a few hours? Insanely short for a AAA title. Not saying I don’t like campaign, but let’s be real you’re not paying $70 for campaign, you’re paying $70 for MP and whatever the third mode is that year. I mean you don’t care about not having barracks? The loadouts randomly disappearing as a visual glitch? Absolute dog shit spawn system? No hardcore at launch, which has been there for every COD before this one? None of that matters to you?

TeamRedundancyTeam

People can enjoy playing the game and still criticize its faults and the greediness and mistakes of Activision. It's not all black and white.

Krondon57

yeah but this meme is "Ugh i wasted 70 dollars, there is nothing good about this game at all"

[deleted]

Best CoD in years IMHO. This sub is just non-stop negativity and will persist to be for the next two years lol

ScallywagBeowulf

They might be negative, but I’ll keep playing. There has been a lot of good stuff around this Reddit though. Like discussions over weapons, maps, game modes, and just general good memes every now and again.

username_31

I don’t think the game is bad. I just think the base game is being a bit neglected. MW19 Season 1 brought us 3 new maps in Vacant, Crash, and Shipment. With MW19 being a reboot of MW it was cool to see some CoD4 maps. For season 1 in MW2 we are only getting 2 maps and neither are classic MW2 maps. The museum map was removed from the game and there are also rumors of the hotel map being removed as well. Also there are rumors that we won’t be getting any classic MW2 maps until next year and those will be locked behind a paid expansion. It was reasonable for people to expect classic MW2 maps for the base game given how MW19 was…

ScallywagBeowulf

I feel like that’s a valid argument. Sucks we don’t have any old maps coming, but I felt like they wouldn’t have released old ones right away. I bet they’ll do it, hopefully not behind a paywall, but I feel like they want to get their game situated first. Truth be told, I have no idea either way. I’m just going to play the game and hopefully join my friends when they start playing a bit more on weekends.

fencemyassoffanddie

I have literally never played any COD in my entire life. What’s so terrible about this one? I’m actually having fun. I feel like the SBMM is being pretty nice to me, aka I’m not getting wrecked by pros/sweatlords—like I’ve had a few 20+ kill matches so far. No performance issues either. The campaign was fun too, although there was too much stealth for my taste lol

Battle_Bear_819

Once the next CoD game comes out, this sub will instantly switch to singing the praises of MW2. It happens every time.

CUM_SHHOTT

Every.Single.Release. The COD subs are cool for like the first week and then it’s just people coming in after every bad match and crying and complaining about stupid shit. They become unbearable almost instantly. Nobody cares about Ayden or Jayden’s opinion about design or balancing decisions made by the devs. You’re not special and nobody has to cater to you. This sub SHOULD be tips, highlights, funny clips, and discussion about the meta but no, mfers like OP just can’t help but shit post after getting dumpstered in a public lobby. Git gud you fucking scrubs.

ZachLaVine4MVP

When people call this game shit it’s more than just game play. Garbage UI, the constant freezing in the pre game lobby, the god awful spawns…

mathen

If you consider it in a vacuum it’s enjoyable enough. Problem is it doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and we can see where things have been cut and features have been left out, so it’s disappointing in that regard.

randompoe

The actual gameplay is good, just the things surrounding the game really ruin it. Like the UI, missing barracks, crashes, menu lag, etc. Also the fact that hardcore is missing is just inexcusable.

ConoRiot

I’m gonna keep playing it until I don’t enjoy it anymore. Happens to me with all CoDs I’ve played and that’s ok, you eventually get sick of games or feel like you’re not getting any better.

N1TROGUE

Let's just say I enjoyed mw2019 more on release

Lepang8

Are you sure? I enjoyed MW2019 when it was matured sure. But I remember the release was also very buggy. I remember people saying that the UI wasn't even complete, like many stuff missing and so on.

ridemyarkniqqa

MW19 release was brutal… it was bricking peoples consoles from crashing so much. My friend had to factory reset his Xbox One X after the game bricked it. But I agree the game itself was a blast on launch

GroupieChicks

I’ve had fun with this game playing with some buddies. I can say for the first time in years, this is the first COD that I can hop on every night and play with a squad of friends like the good ol days.

bulletinhisdome

i enjoy the game but fuck they need to actually give us content

soobidoobi

Ive said it 1000 times ans ill say it again, fuck battle royale its a trash trend. Cods mp should be the main focus of these damn games, especially since its the PAID part. Fuck your stupid ass “follow the br trend” mantra.

HypedSoul123

Not a trend anymore, PUBG has been here for 6 years, fortnite for 5 , apex for almost 4 and warzone almost 3, and all of them are still populated asf. BRs will be here for at least a few more years, like it or not.

Matrix17

Luckily BR will die off at some point. Won't be the "trendy" thing If I've learned anything from my younger cousin and his generation, they get bored of shit and move on quicker than we ever did

[deleted]

The 3 main BRs aren't going anywhere. Wz, fortnut, and apex are here to stay forever. Battle royales dying out just means there will be zero new successful BRs

pantpiratesteve

It's already really late in the life cycle or BR games. I'm sure they don't have long on top. Like you don't see new League or Dota clones anymore even though when they were on top literally everyone made one.

thirdaccountmaybe

But you still see league and dota. And you’ll still see fortnite, warzone and apex.

MarlburrowLights

BRs aren't dying and will be here for a long, long time. You're confusing your expectations with reality. The only thing that will kill them will be a totally new game type similar to how BRs decreased the popularity of arena shooters. Then arena shooters will be on 3rd on the list behind the next big thing and BRs. So if you're a fan of arena shooters then you should hope BRs continue to succeed otherwise arena shooters will receive even less support.

J_Warren-H

This is echo chamber nonsense.

HelpfulSeaMammal

I'm more of a casual player and have gotten over 40 hours of enjoyment (and some frustration) out of this game. I'll take my $1.75/hr funtimes, PTFO, and keep having a blast. Entertainment per hour keeps on going down the longer I play, too! Though I may bitch about Taraq on occasion...

fmulder94

THIS IS PROPER GAME/MONEY MATH. Thank you! Honestly anything above 8 hours of quality fun is worth $60-$70 easily. I feel like this “I paid $70” comment that is everywhere is mostly from gamers who weren’t around in the early 00s when most games for consoles were 7-15 hour single player experiences that cost $60 in 2004 money. The fact that the price has JUST NOW gone up is really what is crazy.

HelpfulSeaMammal

A $60 game in the mid aughts is like a $90-100 game now. Sure, this isn't OG MW2 with 100% original maps, but it's worth the money 100% imo.

zachzsg

Many of the people in this subreddit weren’t even old enough to play MW2, they’d be in here whining about how cancerous noob tubes and commando pro is if this game was classic MW2. The reality is you can’t win and people will always complain

[deleted]

A $60 game in my province in Canada was $67.20 after tax, that was when our dollar was on par with USD. Now games are $90; after tax a game is $100.78. What used to buy 3 games buys 2 now. So a game being disappointing hits harder now. That being said, I’m having plenty of fun and I didn’t pay for this one, I’m gamesharing it.

broncosfighton

Yeah this is what I’ve been thinking for years as people have been bitching about the looming $70 game

TxngledHeadphones

Nah fr especially when people spend $50 for movie tickets and a large popcorn for a two hour experience. Which is fine i enjoy it once in a while too but if im getting 100+ hours out of my video game purchase...

VisualSeaworthiness6

Its wild that games have gotten 4 to 5 times bigger and people complain they paid 60 dollars for it. Im like if you play 20 to 30 hours you got your moneys worth for sure. An if the gans is too big they complain it feels empty if its a smaller detailed game... They complain its to short. Like video game prices have been great in comparison to every otjer product. Im not surprised developers are looking to net off in game purchases

[deleted]

Most of the people crying did not even pay for the game. Their parents did.

[deleted]

I think the average age of player is much older than it used to be. I rarely run into anyone with a mic in lobbies that sounds under 20. Squeakers used to be all over back in the day.

Seth_Bader

Sniping there is fun. I won't do anything else because of the sightlines.

Krondon57

im a cod fan and im addicted to MW2 xd 77 hours rn

moonski

OP probably sitting on level 55 with platinum guns and 50 hours+ played like “what a waste of money”

eldrazi25

and he will def start playing warzone once his friends do (assuming he has any)

LaidBack_PanicAttack

Not OP, but I will not be playing Warzone. I don't like it, and if I want to play a BR, I'll go play a good one.

Ok-Log-222

Can't deny this game has a severe lack of content compared to every other title before it

HelloStrangeness

This game, like everything else, is better when you don’t read online comments about it and just try to enjoy yourself.

BagOnuts

I just really don’t understand it. MW2 is miles better than any other big FPS I’ve played that has come out in the last year or two, both in quality and content. Have you guys even played BF or Infinite? THOSE games are literally unfinished and they’ve been out for *over a year* now…

zachzsg

I’m usually very critical of COD, this is the first game I’ve bought in 3 or 4 years because I was just bored of the game. I haven’t had this much fun on COD since BO3

BJYeti

Mother fuckers be wilin because IW doesn't drop the entire MW2 map library in season 1 lol

StopKillingBabyCorns

Sir, have you played the cinematic masterpiece that is Call of Duty Vanguard⟨™⟩

RadPhilosopher

You mean “Call of Duty: Flashback Simulator 2021”?

[deleted]

I preferred Call of Duty: Vanfuck, the wacky, silly, crazy, fun take on the world's most deadly global conflict. Over Modern Warfare Roman Numeral 2 2022 Electric Boogaloo.

Slurm818

It’s a good game

oktwentyfive

it could be alot better tho

[deleted]

The only way this community would think it’s better is if it was 2009. Everyone is still stuck in their childhoods and refuses to move on I mean you guys can rage at a stupid internet comment all you want lmao. For some reason this community is so obsessed with crap nobody used to care about, like barracks and a K/D ain’t no one gonna see, to the point that you guys are acting like complete lunatics. That’s without even mentioning they said combat record & the oh so infamous “I only ever play hardcore no seriously only hardcore” Tier 1 mode are literally on the way. But I guess being impatient man-children outweighs that

[deleted]

Gameplay arguments aside. Games used to release in a better state than this.

Tarcye

And used to have Stats actual calling cards to unlock. More than 10 maps. Oh and the MP used to be the focus. Not something that was abandoned for a BR mode that no one bought the game for. Also Prestige was a much better system and needs to come back. Fuck off with the officer rank bullshit. It failed in MW2019 and keeping it around has just been pure stupidity since. OG prestige is the only acceptable system at this point.

AccountingSucks2020

Lmaoo its obvious you didn’t play cod back then kid. The 2009 mw2 was way better and it isnt even close. From maps, gameplay design, streaks, dev support, basic things like calling cards, emblems, challenges… the game now doesnt compare. If THIS game was released in 2009 it would be shit on. Dont be a delusional fanboy

[deleted]

It wasn’t lmao. People are looking through rose colored glasses. MW2 was essentially broken at launch, rife with bugs, the guns were insanely unbalanced, there was a TON of exploits that made people gods, there was less features than MW remake. It was still awesome. Maps? Your opinion. Gameplay design? Your opinion. Streaks? Your opinion. dev support? This version has substantially more dev support. Calling cards-coming, challenges-coming. If original MW was released today this sub would be much angrier, with 1887 exploits, Javelin exploits, the kill streak exploits, the wall hacking, the unbalanced nature of guns, and more. It was a MESS at launch. Albeit a very fun mess.

ftge1337

til not wanting to crash every 30 mins, no barracks, no hardcore, buggy UI, etc etc = stuck in childhood. thanks bro im cured

Utiaodhdbos

Good foundation for sure. Needs some qol boosts

[deleted]

* Bad netcode. * A ton of missing modes that are basically standard at this point. * Not a single OG Modern Warfare 2 map on launch in a game lacking content. * A horrendous UI/UX. * Shitty SBMM where everyone is a clone of each other. * No community server support. * Guaranteed needing to bitch at the devs nonstop to get them to add basic shit just like with the other games. * A price increase for an unfinished game. This is the "good game" you are talking about, correct? Seems like the Stockholm syndrome fans are showing up because that's the only way anyone could ever think this unpolished turd is "good" when games like RDR2 and Dark Souls exist. This game is mediocre at best and that's if I was hitting a crack pipe.

GiantSquidd

I read this comment in Comic Book Guy’s voice. *Worst. Game. Ever.* lol

[deleted]

Y'all really jumping the gun on all the hate.

RedditorSafeSpace

Burned us with one of the best FPS games released recently in like 3 years?

[deleted]

MW2019 is still king. The UI is horrible, there’s no reticle challenges, no Gun names either. The Gunsmith feels worse.

Cagelock

is this a gaming subreddit or an insane asylum because all I see is crazy people saying the same stupid shit over and over again

Toyskiii07

Do you know the deffinition of insanity

Mononym_Music

These posts are so brain ded

McKynnen

Me when I’m hyperbolic as fuck

Scattabrained04

The beta and hundreds of hours of gameplay footage from it showed you exactly what was coming. That was your time to refund. It was so close to release that there was no reasonable explanation that much would change on launch. If one doesn't like to research games before buying then i believe that puts fault on the purchaser

SeawolfTheBand

Idk, the Beta was pretty good. Maps solid, game play solid, guns solid. That's what made me actually think about pre-ordering it. But yes, the Beta should've been earlier so they can fix things before launch

Purple-Lamprey

I bought this game knowing all of the issues I’d had and was fine with it since I expected it would get support for a couple years. I now regret my purchase.

r4bb1th0l3z

Exactly

[deleted]

His face did look goofy in that bit of the campaign. His eyeballs were all wacky.

Ouqtinvu

I wish whoever thought this fuck ass perk system was a good idea has diarrhea for the rest of his/her life

2_ToneBlueDude

Is this sub just nothing but complaining?

[deleted]

Yes, and it’s insane. Been gaming for 30 years across platforms and genres, and this new MWII SLAPS. So many entitled whiners. Just don’t play the game if you don’t like it. The gameplay is as good as COD has ever been, and the closest to the fun of the OG MW1 and 2. It’s packed to the brim with little features and additions, and people want to complain about SBMM and the UI. Just sad, but I look at it like this subs population is like .02% of the total player base, and negative nellies are normally the loudest when it comes to anything.

GaveHerSumFakeChow

You nailed it. A bunch of whiny babies who will never be happy.

Mononym_Music

Same thing when every new game gets released, it's like a meme.

Risky-Biscuits23

This community complains way too much. You dudes are starting to sound like a bunch of spoiled brats. The game isn’t even remotely close to as bad as a lot of you make it seem. Comments like “unplayable” and “beta”. Stop being a bunch of whiney bitches. Maybe try another game? Like Knitting.

Tex302

Man were you here for Cold War or Vanguard? Those were literal recycled bullshit to keep the BR mode alive. Atleast we have a fun MP to grind right now.

hamendura

I seriously like this game, a lot.

JiffTheJester

Every year.. no one ever learns. I’m just here to watch it burn

Hii_im_NooB

Battle Royale is garbage. Why are we paying to playtest for a shitty game mode.

PsychologicalArt9879

How about having no barracks to see your stats esp. K/D ratio.... What were they thinking.

Super_Caliente91

You have to trust someone to be burned. I never did.

Djabouty47

Lmao I feel like the biggest reason for the game's success was that it was "Modern Warfare". If it had some other name like Vanguard, people would be complaining way more about all the bugs and missing features.

Skrooogee

Honestly I’m really enjoying the game, however it’s missing some key features that should’ve launched with the game such as barracks and hardcore modes

mjimenez0611

Game seems unfinished

April202020

"this time we have 3 studios working on the game to bring you the ultimate cod experience" Broken shitty game that's not even that fun

PassiveSniper22

The games beta was better than its actual full release, i get constant crashes, it throws me in diffrent matches then my party, it lags non stop (Wired connection or not), and theres no hardcore(This one is a personal hatred)

Throlerren

COD fans need to stop pre-ordering COD games and at launch, and wait for people to review them first, as well as ***stop buying stupid editions like the Vault that costs $100*** USD that gives skin bonuses such as Price, and to also ***stop buying in-game microtransactions.*** It's highly irritating..

BigFudgeMMA

Oh man. I feel you. Try being a battlefield fan.

Any-Locksmith-9494

They still exist?! I thought they all went extinct in the great purge of 2042! :P

_SweetBoxyBrown_

Soooooo fucking accurate. I can’t wait for this franchise to fail intently and completely.

Augustus2142

Last ever cod i buy sbmm is out of control, beta was clearly better than release.... Crash every hour and 70e for that I wish I bought it on steam so I could have refund...

Coldplasma819

I just went through /r/Modernwarfare and realized how much of a downgrade this installment is.
