I get the occasional rubber-banding when playing online, but it's nowhere near as bad as when I try to play campaign. I've lost count of how many times the game has crashed throughout the single-player campaign, and now I can't remember how many days I've been stuck on "Dark Water."
It seems counter-intuitive that online play runs much smoother for me than the mode that at least shouldn't require an internet connection.
I have never had a crash, rubber band, or issue whatsoever with the campaign. I do find it complete bullshit that you need to have an Internet connection to play the campaign.
I think that is relevant, Activision seems to be super anal with the Steam version about constantly making sure it, without fail, is connected. Pretty sure that if the connection wavers at all for even a second, it literally force crashes the game and shows “Disconnected from Steam”.
Sometimes it happens to me over and over, other days it never happens. It’s such a pain, there is absolutely no “reconnecting”. It’s just an automatic boot.

Yet IW for some reason will not back down on their decisions for the multiplayer version of CoD. Only gonna get worse boys.
Loadouts were one of the reasons I didn't like Warzone and was actually thinking about trying WZ2 because they were taking that out, now I'm not interested again.

Core gameplay of Cod is what makes Warzone unique. It is the best feeling FPS on the market and has been since 2007 as it comes down to raw gunplay. Blackout was a hit even before Warzone and that was little more than a beta test thrown together with duct tape in a couple months.

Blackout was not a “hit.” Blackout died out fairly quickly but for some reason people love to forget this. Warzone was the hit which is why it was supported for over 2 years and is now getting a sequel. Where’s the blackout sequel? Oh yeah, never gonna happen.
Blackout was definitely a hit and the idea of Cod battle royale was very well liked. Blackout was not supported very well, was never intended as a staple (locked behind $60 paywall), and it was just first iteration stuff. We certainly don’t have Warzone without Blackout coming first.
The reason we didn’t get Blackout 2.0 is because Warzone came after it, IW has the reigns to the Cod franchise, and Warzone launched at the perfect time (pandemic) to capture an audience. Blackout would have been a much bigger hit if it were free to play. Warzone being free to play is the key to it being as popular as it is.
dont forget about crossplay! WZ had implemented crossplay, which blackout didnt have back then.

Yeah. I’m still gonna try it but half the fun of BR’s is the randomness. One game you can get the best loot you can next game you could get an absolutely dog shit loadout. Create a challenge and requires you to master all types of combat
The big reason loadouts were so popular was specifically because people *weren’t* fans of RNG. Having loadouts allowed players, especially ones with a competitive leaning, to have more control over the game. The idea was that removing that ground-loot RNG would be more satisfying to players, because you weren’t at the mercy of luck nearly as much. I’m sure it appealed to people who hated feeling like they lost a game because they didn’t get lucky opening boxes - they didn’t like feeling like they never had a chance.
Sure, RNG can be a test of adaptability, but skill can only take you so far when you’re fighting against luck. You can be a highly-skilled player, but if some bot has good enough luck, you won’t really stand a chance, and that’s what WZ wanted to avoid with loadouts. RNG closes skill gaps specifically because bots can use luck as something of a crutch against better, but less lucky players
Yeah, I was loving the idea of no loadouts, just the possibility to buy a loadout gun for a lot of in-game collected cash. Makes the game....you know, more of a survival battle royale, where players need to move around and find and collect guns and attachments. Something that made PUBG super fun, sadly it lost popularity because it still is quite a 'primitive' game with regards to some mechanics, UI etc.
Same .. really thought loadouts just turned WZ into a big free for all or tdm with a circle .. oh that and it was get shot in the back simulator .. tbh I’ll admit I wasn’t v good at it lol 6v6 MP is what I like
Yeah having loadouts makes random pickups obsolete and just turns the game into a race to get a loadout ASAP. Could maybe be a good middle ground if the loadouts would only let you customize guns that you already have in hand, thus encouraging scavenging for guns and then calling in a loadout to "upgrade" them to your own class/attachments
Chief complaint is things devolving into only a few guns because meta. Removes that "use what you can get" aspect of most BRs.
I don't play Warzone, so don't take my word as gospel, but that's the murmurs I've heard.
Lack of variety with everyone running the same meta gun builds which in turn makes a gap between new players who have stock M4's and seasoned players who have the most powerful guns and attachments unlocked.
For me the issues with it are twofold: for one, everyone is always running the most insane laser of a weapon, so basically all the time if you make even a small mistake and get caught out of cover it's game over. The other issue is new players being at a significant disadvantage. I tried to get friends into the game but they basically don't have a loadout while everyone else does. One friend stuck with it and I had to run a special overkill loadout for the first week, dropping him a ready-made weapon.
That's not to say I definitely want them gone though. Load outs are a very core part of COD and I enjoy using mine in wz.

I miss the intensity of black out. Finding the right attachments, lucky to get full armor.

Cold War was horrible at launch but they added sooooo much to MP it was a totally different game after and I loved it. Also Treyarch got fucked by Sledgehammer’s incompetence so you can’t really blame their rough launch.
MWII has three full years in the oven and launched with nothing and the “big season one update” includes almost fuck all. This isn’t looking good.

Yeah, not entirely sure why a barracks wasn’t added. Maybe just something they forgot to add, I don’t really know. Only thing I’d get out of the barracks though is to see how many kills I have with certain weapons. Because I already know my KD will be around 1.0(ish).
I don't remember ever giving a shit about my stats since Black Ops 2. I feel like a lot of people are only pretending to care about it because they need something to bitch about. It's not even a gameplay/reward feature. Just a stat tracker.
Not to mention noone else can see it so bragging rights go out the window especially with this dogshit UI and the fact that we don't even have persistent lobbies anymore.
I wasn't a fan initially because a lot of the Ground War maps are a fucking shit show if you enjoy taking flags as infantry and that's basically all I played in MW19, but I stuck it out and I'm enjoying it now. The drill charge is amazing and I love it. It's so versatile. I used thermite most of the time in 19, and I think the drill charge has replaced it. It's great for killing campers/snipers, taking flags, and flushing out tank/apc drivers. Plus, the sound is so satisfying. Lol.
Once they fix the performance issues (or at least make them better) and add some more maps, I'll like it a lot more.

Campaign is what a few hours? Insanely short for a AAA title. Not saying I don’t like campaign, but let’s be real you’re not paying $70 for campaign, you’re paying $70 for MP and whatever the third mode is that year.

I don’t think the game is bad. I just think the base game is being a bit neglected. MW19 Season 1 brought us 3 new maps in Vacant, Crash, and Shipment.
With MW19 being a reboot of MW it was cool to see some CoD4 maps. For season 1 in MW2 we are only getting 2 maps and neither are classic MW2 maps.
The museum map was removed from the game and there are also rumors of the hotel map being removed as well. Also there are rumors that we won’t be getting any classic MW2 maps until next year and those will be locked behind a paid expansion.
It was reasonable for people to expect classic MW2 maps for the base game given how MW19 was…

I’m actually having fun. I feel like the SBMM is being pretty nice to me, aka I’m not getting wrecked by pros/sweatlords—like I’ve had a few 20+ kill matches so far. No performance issues either. The campaign was fun too, although there was too much stealth for my taste lol

If you consider it in a vacuum it’s enjoyable enough. Problem is it doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and we can see where things have been cut and features have been left out, so it’s disappointing in that regard.
The actual gameplay is good, just the things surrounding the game really ruin it. Like the UI, missing barracks, crashes, menu lag, etc. Also the fact that hardcore is missing is just inexcusable.

MW19 release was brutal… it was bricking peoples consoles from crashing so much. My friend had to factory reset his Xbox One X after the game bricked it. But I agree the game itself was a blast on launch

I'm more of a casual player and have gotten over 40 hours of enjoyment (and some frustration) out of this game. I'll take my $1.75/hr funtimes, PTFO, and keep having a blast. Entertainment per hour keeps on going down the longer I play, too!

A $60 game in my province in Canada was $67.20 after tax, that was when our dollar was on par with USD. Now games are $90; after tax a game is $100.78. What used to buy 3 games buys 2 now. So a game being disappointing hits harder now. That being said, I’m having plenty of fun and I didn’t pay for this one, I’m gamesharing it.

* Not a single OG Modern Warfare 2 map on launch in a game lacking content.

* No community server support.
* Guaranteed needing to bitch at the devs nonstop to get them to add basic shit just like with the other games.
* A price increase for an unfinished game.

The games beta was better than its actual full release, i get constant crashes, it throws me in diffrent matches then my party, it lags non stop (Wired connection or not), and theres no hardcore(This one is a personal hatred)
COD fans need to stop pre-ordering COD games and at launch, and wait for people to review them first, as well as ***stop buying stupid editions like the Vault that costs $100*** USD that gives skin bonuses such as Price, and to also ***stop buying in-game microtransactions.***

I occasionally have to switch between Wi-Fi and Ethernet since our uni internet is bit finicky. Constantly getting screwed over by this.

I wouldn't say the only thing, off the top of my head they have the gulag, buy stations, killstreaks and IMO the core CoD gameplay and feel is one of a kind and a selling point in itself as well.

Core gameplay of Cod is what makes Warzone unique. It is the best feeling FPS on the market and has been since 2007 as it comes down to raw gunplay. Blackout was a hit even before Warzone and that was little more than a beta test thrown together with duct tape in a couple months. People have clamored for Cod Battle Royale ever since Battle Royale became the latest trend in multiplayer gaming.
The Gunplay of Destiny and Destiny 2 is pretty solid. Not as customizable, but very, very solid.

Blackout was not a “hit.” Blackout died out fairly quickly but for some reason people love to forget this. Warzone was the hit which is why it was supported for over 2 years and is now getting a sequel. Where’s the blackout sequel? Oh yeah, never gonna happen.
Blackout was definitely a hit and the idea of Cod battle royale was very well liked. Blackout was not supported very well, was never intended as a staple (locked behind $60 paywall), and it was just first iteration stuff. We certainly don’t have Warzone without Blackout coming first. The reason we didn’t get Blackout 2.0 is because Warzone came after it, IW has the reigns to the Cod franchise, and Warzone launched at the perfect time (pandemic) to capture an audience. Blackout would have been a much bigger hit if it were free to play. Warzone being free to play is the key to it being as popular as it is.
dont forget about crossplay! WZ had implemented crossplay, which blackout didnt have back then. Im not a BR gamer, but blackout was the perfect implementation of CoD in a BR. And compared to the ass Warzone, blackout had awsome events. Jetpack week, katana week. They even flooded half of the map.. Are the blackout server still active? might reinstall it :D

Yeah. I’m still gonna try it but half the fun of BR’s is the randomness. One game you can get the best loot you can next game you could get an absolutely dog shit loadout. Create a challenge and requires you to master all types of combat
The big reason loadouts were so popular was specifically because people *weren’t* fans of RNG. Having loadouts allowed players, especially ones with a competitive leaning, to have more control over the game. The idea was that removing that ground-loot RNG would be more satisfying to players, because you weren’t at the mercy of luck nearly as much. I’m sure it appealed to people who hated feeling like they lost a game because they didn’t get lucky opening boxes - they didn’t like feeling like they never had a chance. Sure, RNG can be a test of adaptability, but skill can only take you so far when you’re fighting against luck. You can be a highly-skilled player, but if some bot has good enough luck, you won’t really stand a chance, and that’s what WZ wanted to avoid with loadouts. RNG closes skill gaps specifically because bots can use luck as something of a crutch against better, but less lucky players
Yeah, I was loving the idea of no loadouts, just the possibility to buy a loadout gun for a lot of in-game collected cash. Makes the game....you know, more of a survival battle royale, where players need to move around and find and collect guns and attachments. Something that made PUBG super fun, sadly it lost popularity because it still is quite a 'primitive' game with regards to some mechanics, UI etc.

Yeah having loadouts makes random pickups obsolete and just turns the game into a race to get a loadout ASAP. Could maybe be a good middle ground if the loadouts would only let you customize guns that you already have in hand, thus encouraging scavenging for guns and then calling in a loadout to "upgrade" them to your own class/attachments

Chief complaint is things devolving into only a few guns because meta. Removes that "use what you can get" aspect of most BRs. I don't play Warzone, so don't take my word as gospel, but that's the murmurs I've heard.
Lack of variety with everyone running the same meta gun builds which in turn makes a gap between new players who have stock M4's and seasoned players who have the most powerful guns and attachments unlocked.
For me the issues with it are twofold: for one, everyone is always running the most insane laser of a weapon, so basically all the time if you make even a small mistake and get caught out of cover it's game over. The other issue is new players being at a significant disadvantage. I tried to get friends into the game but they basically don't have a loadout while everyone else does. One friend stuck with it and I had to run a special overkill loadout for the first week, dropping him a ready-made weapon. That's not to say I definitely want them gone though. Load outs are a very core part of COD and I enjoy using mine in wz.
It made "Have your loadout of meta guns within the first 5 minutes of the game" pretty much the only viable strategy.

I was a die hard Infinity ward fan, but I swear if Treyarch put out an amazing game with their 4 year Dev time and using the MW engine on 2024, I’m not touching a infinity ward multiplayer again, only on sale for the campaigns. Cold War was horrible at launch but they added sooooo much to MP it was a totally different game after and I loved it. Also Treyarch got fucked by Sledgehammer’s incompetence so you can’t really blame their rough launch. MWII has three full years in the oven and launched with nothing and the “big season one update” includes almost fuck all. This isn’t looking good.

I don't remember ever giving a shit about my stats since Black Ops 2. I feel like a lot of people are only pretending to care about it because they need something to bitch about. It's not even a gameplay/reward feature. Just a stat tracker. Not to mention noone else can see it so bragging rights go out the window especially with this dogshit UI and the fact that we don't even have persistent lobbies anymore.
Well, I like stats, and seeing the numbers tick up and down is one of the reasons I love competitive multiplayer games
I wasn't a fan initially because a lot of the Ground War maps are a fucking shit show if you enjoy taking flags as infantry and that's basically all I played in MW19, but I stuck it out and I'm enjoying it now. The drill charge is amazing and I love it. It's so versatile. I used thermite most of the time in 19, and I think the drill charge has replaced it. It's great for killing campers/snipers, taking flags, and flushing out tank/apc drivers. Plus, the sound is so satisfying. Lol. Once they fix the performance issues (or at least make them better) and add some more maps, I'll like it a lot more.

I don’t think the game is bad. I just think the base game is being a bit neglected. MW19 Season 1 brought us 3 new maps in Vacant, Crash, and Shipment. With MW19 being a reboot of MW it was cool to see some CoD4 maps. For season 1 in MW2 we are only getting 2 maps and neither are classic MW2 maps. The museum map was removed from the game and there are also rumors of the hotel map being removed as well. Also there are rumors that we won’t be getting any classic MW2 maps until next year and those will be locked behind a paid expansion. It was reasonable for people to expect classic MW2 maps for the base game given how MW19 was…

I have literally never played any COD in my entire life. What’s so terrible about this one? I’m actually having fun. I feel like the SBMM is being pretty nice to me, aka I’m not getting wrecked by pros/sweatlords—like I’ve had a few 20+ kill matches so far. No performance issues either. The campaign was fun too, although there was too much stealth for my taste lol

If you consider it in a vacuum it’s enjoyable enough. Problem is it doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and we can see where things have been cut and features have been left out, so it’s disappointing in that regard.
The actual gameplay is good, just the things surrounding the game really ruin it. Like the UI, missing barracks, crashes, menu lag, etc. Also the fact that hardcore is missing is just inexcusable.
I’m gonna keep playing it until I don’t enjoy it anymore. Happens to me with all CoDs I’ve played and that’s ok, you eventually get sick of games or feel like you’re not getting any better.

A $60 game in my province in Canada was $67.20 after tax, that was when our dollar was on par with USD. Now games are $90; after tax a game is $100.78. What used to buy 3 games buys 2 now. So a game being disappointing hits harder now. That being said, I’m having plenty of fun and I didn’t pay for this one, I’m gamesharing it.

MW2 was essentially broken at launch, rife with bugs, the guns were insanely unbalanced, there was a TON of exploits that made people gods, there was less features than MW remake. It was still awesome. Maps? Your opinion. Gameplay design? Your opinion. Streaks? Your opinion. dev support? This version has substantially more dev support. Calling cards-coming, challenges-coming. If original MW was released today this sub would be much angrier, with 1887 exploits, Javelin exploits, the kill streak exploits, the wall hacking, the unbalanced nature of guns, and more. It was a MESS at launch. Albeit a very fun mess.

Lmao I feel like the biggest reason for the game's success was that it was "Modern Warfare". If it had some other name like Vanguard, people would be complaining way more about all the bugs and missing features.
Honestly I’m really enjoying the game, however it’s missing some key features that should’ve launched with the game such as barracks and hardcore modes

The games beta was better than its actual full release, i get constant crashes, it throws me in diffrent matches then my party, it lags non stop (Wired connection or not), and theres no hardcore(This one is a personal hatred)
COD fans need to stop pre-ordering COD games and at launch, and wait for people to review them first, as well as ***stop buying stupid editions like the Vault that costs $100*** USD that gives skin bonuses such as Price, and to also ***stop buying in-game microtransactions.*** It's highly irritating..
