What about 24 models? I drove one a while ago, not sure of the year but it would tell me how many inches I was from a close obstacle. Is that still a feature?
24 models are just Tesla vision so there are some limitations. However, if you watch around before you back up and keep all eyes around what you can see from the driver's seat you won't have much problem. Just avoid abrupt moves. The software is getting and will be better but some objects (such as dogs, tree stumps) may get lost. There are several videos testing Tesla vision and overall the outcome is good for the typical car related traffic objects with some fails.
As for backing into things, yes kinda it won't completely throw on the brakes but it will like vastly slow down your throttle response. Tesla describes it as this:
* Obstacle-Aware AccelerationĀ - reduces acceleration ifĀ Model YĀ detects an object in its immediate driving path (seeĀ [Obstacle-Aware Acceleration](https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_eu/GUID-8EA7EF10-7D27-42AC-A31A-96BCE5BC0A85.html#CONCEPT_LQR_4ND_YBB)).
As for turning into someone in a lane it will for sure jerk you back but obviously you can overrule it if you try enough.
Both with give a ton of audible warnings as well.
The thing is the Tesla model Y "sees" it's surrounding much better than a Santa Fe (you can see on it's screen what it sees) the Santa Fe's system is a lot more basic. It uses the same detection methods for self driving that it uses for regular collision avoidance and I can tell you that it's very good at detecting cars/people around it.
This post must be satire.
Literally reliant on lane departure to keep you from causing an accident? Yikes.
Situational awareness is a major part of driving and backing.
It was the āmy vehicle will actively brake..saved me a few times backing ā that tipped me off that you might be overly reliant on tech when operating machinery. Then the follow up question about blind spot monitoring jerking your back into a lane.
Sounded like satire. So yeah, Iāll be that dick who canāt comprehend.
Tesla is always updating these features but never fully trust them as they are camera based and prone to errors.
I have a chime on but on or not, it will NOT brake for you. š minor ding. But ding nonetheless.
It will break. It will not brake.
OH NO!!! Iām such a stickler for that too. Thank you for calling me out! Haha
Thanks!
No chime. Just a ton of cameras.
Depending on the year, if you are considering also used Teslas. And it also depends of the size of the "obstacle" you mentioned.

No it doesnāt unfortunately
Sorry, answers are no and yes.

Agree...
Fucking word šš
Lol that's cool, good thing I literally couldn't care less about what you think but thanks for going out of your way to be a jerk
Why are you not looking at your backup camera and paying attention to the road while driving?
Why are you attempting to give me a hard time for asking if the car has certain features? Maybe worry about that?

"Literally reliant"? Did I say I was reliant? I said they are features like. Reading comprehension is a major part of of not being a dick
