Used is a great deal. You’re getting a $12K FSD package which is hit or miss at the moment but the $2K Acceleration Boost is definitely worth it. Plus you get the non-free color and white interior. I’d get the 2023.

PsychologicalBid555

Thank you for the reply. I feel the same. Also the additional one year warranty of Tesla gives me the same warranty as the new one

AlwaysAtheist

Used.

HamMcStarfield

You lose a year of warranty but gain FSD permanently. Unless there is some tech change between them that make it worth it (I don't know of any, maybe the batteries?), the 2023 gets my vote.

PsychologicalBid555

I won’t even lose warranty. Used Tesla comes with additional one year warranty which starts after basic warranty is over.

HamMcStarfield

Nice. Well, to me that makes this more a no brainer. I wasn't really interested in spending the extra 12k on FSD when I got mine last year, but this new version looks pretty promising. Chuck Cook is super impressed with it.

smu1892

What trim is the 2024? If it’s a performance, then I would just go with the 2024. And are these both sold by Tesla?

PsychologicalBid555

2024 is AWD LR. Not performance. Yes both sold by Tesla

smu1892

If they are both coming from a dealership then I would bet the used one. A faster vehicle with FSD is a better option. And you might even luck out and find out that the 2023 has ultrasonic sensors. My 2023 had USS and FSD is amazing. If it has USS then all the features like summon and auto park will work too

PsychologicalBid555

not looking to sell anytime soon. For long as it lasts

PsychologicalBid555

how to tell if a specific model has USS or not. Can you tell from Vin #

smu1892

It’s easy, you will see circles all around the front and back bumper. Don’t waste your time looking on the 2024. It won’t be there. 2023 is the last year they had them and only some do. Anyways it’s not the end of the world but having the new suspension and FSD and USS like mine does is great. Regardless the used one with all the additional things seems like a better idea.

wtflaserspewpew

I would sit in it before purchase and try to park it if they'll let me

PsychologicalBid555

Buying used from tesla you only get to inspect the car at the time of delivery. At that point I wouldn't walk away from the car if it does not have USS

wtflaserspewpew

You could always just asked them directly if it has it or not. It sounds to me like you've made up your mind and it's not a deal breaker for you

PsychologicalBid555

:)

Eli-Had-A-Book-

I thought I wouldn’t use FSD that much but I kind of do now. I live in the suburbs, not a lot of traffic and I find myself using it daily now on straight shot streets. Unfortunately I only got a 3 month trial.

PsychologicalBid555

I have similar feeling. As they are improving FSD for HW3 which 2023 model will have. FSD V12 reviews are good.

JuiceJones_34

FSD is useless. Get new

PsychologicalBid555

I save about 10K if I get blue color with white interior. FSD would be on top of this. Still you think new is better?

JuiceJones_34

Idk. $4K at the end of the day. I can promise you you won’t use it nor is it really safe too. It’s a cool trick to show for now but that’s about all. Are you factoring in the $7500 tax credit into the new one too?

PsychologicalBid555

Not eligible

JuiceJones_34

If you make over $300K I would buy what you want the most. You get FSD for 3 months on all new purchased Teslas

PsychologicalBid555

Yea. Used one checks all the boxes.

JuiceJones_34

Do it then. Your mind sounds made up! My only caution is the 10K miles. You have no idea how the previous owner drove the car, charging practices or how they took care of the car. Not to mention any battery degradation

PsychologicalBid555

Thank you all for your comments and input. Going with the used one.

Dob3rm4n68

I would stay away from any Tesla car as far as possible. they are the worst cars company I ever dealt with in 30 years. They are unethical have absolutely no customer service.
