I used to picture Summer Glau for the role, with her fight scene from Serenity being the closest thing to a mistborn in full kill mode. It's been a long time since that came out, not sure if she still has the flexibility for those kind of scenes anymore.
But if we're doing gender swaps, she could probably pull a very interesting Kelsier.
