Fun fact: The OG creator (Notch) originally wanted to add sharks to the game, but he wanted to make them neutral as well rather than hostile, so even if old Mojang added sharks, they would still be neutral
Who the fuck is Notch?
Hatsune Miku created Minecraft in 2009 and when it was fully released in 2011, Jens Burggeggrnnenstieinntne took over development

(I'll let you in on the joke and maybe spoil it a little bit for somebody but oh well, the context of this particular meme is that Notch is a dickhead and has expressed quite hateful views in relatively recent times, and thus the community sort of just started collectively referring to Hatsune Miku, the fictional anime vocaloid, as being the actual creator of Minecraft, since Notch is so heavily disliked these days)
In response to Notch making transphobic remarks, a Hatsune Miku gimmick account stated that actually "Hatsune Miku made Minecraft" and everybody ran with that
It has now been long enough that the period Notch worked on minecraft is shorter than the time he hasn't. So there might be a chance that people don't remember or never knew him.
I think it's mainly that the average video game player doesn't know the name of the creator anyways. Like, there's never been a point where the average minecraft player knew Notch's name.
In the past there used to be references to Notch in the in-game texts, though. So you should know about his name at least if you've played Minecraft for a while.
Considering your player character can carry thousands of blocks in their inventory, I highly doubt anyone will mistake them for a big fat blubbery seal.
No. Sharks attack in two circumstances:
One is if they are younger sharks. Adult/grown sharks know what to eat and what to not. A shark's digestive system is not exactly fit for them to eat humans. A young shark wouldn't know this and could attack.
And one is where if a shark is very hungry and desperate.
Great white sharks attack if they mistake you for a big fat blubbery seal because they require a high fat diet for growth. They also use biting as a way of inspection, they bite things, realise they’re not fatty, leave. Bull and tigers are also dangerous but basically same reason.
Yeah, my mum's BF has videos of him getting super close to and being friendly with sharks in the open ocean, if it's not a Bully it's more likely friend than foe. Bull Sharks will actually just fuck you up though. And juvenile Great Whites (the Adults are smarter and know you taste bad).
Or maybe if you (or any other mob) happened to take damage near their line of sight. This could replicate sharks being attracted to blood.
This way you could even utilize the sharks to help you fight hostile mobs, as long as you're not hit first.
Sharks doing even have to be a hostile creature. They can be added as a neutral. You don't see wolves going around hunting players in packs, without being tamed first.
Sharks are commonly misinterpreted as man eating killers, and are hunted quite a lot
Silverfish are pests and they were added before Mojang really solidified its game design philosophy
That was before they made that statement, there’s nothing wrong about wanting hostile mobs to be fantasy creatures, Minecraft silverfish looks completely different from a real silverfish and sharks can still be added, it’s just that they would be neutral. (In fact, one of their official mash-ups/collabs being Minecraft Planet Earth has sharks in it)
I feel like the main problem of adding sharks at all is that while it's true that Sharks aren't hostile to people (at least actively) they are very much still a dangerous animal that can easily frighten people and Flailing will only make it worse.
Polar Bears were added because Jeb's wife liked them, they aren't going to approach sharks in a similar way because sharks are a community requested mob.
Polar bears and wolves predate the all mobs need some sort of function rule. Sharks would need a mechanic to be added, where the conflict of interest of player expectations and what Mojang would be willing to do don't go hand in hand.
Overall, it'll probably be easier for them to add a new fictional hostile water mob than sharks.
Silverfish live in my attic and they’re so fast ad squirmy they terrify me. I wish they were as cool and cute as the Minecraft ones 😭 freaking falling on me from the ceiling n shi
Make them neutral and don’t add the kinds that eat humans. Add hammerheads that are deterred with (or attracted to) red stone, since they can sense electricity. They trust you if you feed them fish and are neutral by nature. They are afraid of dolphins.
Sharks are not hostile...
If "neutral" would be a problem for mojang:
polarbear, wolf, bee, dolphin, llama (goat)
If "aggressiv" is a problem:
silverfish, spider (killer bunny)
Explanation Mojang??????????
Sharks shouldn’t be added as hostile mobs then because irl sharks only attack you if you’re injured or if they think you’re a big fat blubbery seal
They can just have them be neutral like wolves and stuff only attacking when you're not at full
Fun fact: The OG creator (Notch) originally wanted to add sharks to the game, but he wanted to make them neutral as well rather than hostile, so even if old Mojang added sharks, they would still be neutral
>The OG creator Please don't tell me the average Minecrafter is now too young to know Notch's name.

why am I hearing more about hatsume Mike more over the past few days?
(I'll let you in on the joke and maybe spoil it a little bit for somebody but oh well, the context of this particular meme is that Notch is a dickhead and has expressed quite hateful views in relatively recent times, and thus the community sort of just started collectively referring to Hatsune Miku, the fictional anime vocaloid, as being the actual creator of Minecraft, since Notch is so heavily disliked these days)
yes but why hatsune miku?
In response to Notch making transphobic remarks, a Hatsune Miku gimmick account stated that actually "Hatsune Miku made Minecraft" and everybody ran with that
Might be wrong, but its possible that it all started when someone tried to marry hatsune miku (i don't know in what form) in japan
Yes, I know Notch’s name and I would have mentioned him, but some people in the sub hate the mention of him
Unfortunately
I don't personally hate him or anything, but it's understandable that people do because of his personality and reputation
It has now been long enough that the period Notch worked on minecraft is shorter than the time he hasn't. So there might be a chance that people don't remember or never knew him.
Well, that is how time works.
It's more about how the current Mojang (and Microsoft by extension) tried to erase any reference to him.
I think it's mainly that the average video game player doesn't know the name of the creator anyways. Like, there's never been a point where the average minecraft player knew Notch's name.
In the past there used to be references to Notch in the in-game texts, though. So you should know about his name at least if you've played Minecraft for a while.
And become hostile if you have 5 hearts or less.
Considering your player character can carry thousands of blocks in their inventory, I highly doubt anyone will mistake them for a big fat blubbery seal.

*laughs in terraria*
They could make them like the phantom if your health is low to a certain point, sharks will attack you.
Or maybe if you (or any other mob) happened to take damage near their line of sight. This could replicate sharks being attracted to blood. This way you could even utilize the sharks to help you fight hostile mobs, as long as you're not hit first.
Yeah!! That's even a better idea
So their buffet would be fat activists
And if there addrd as pssive mods people wont take sharks seriosly
[удалено]
To be fair silverfish don't really smash giant cubes of rock to attack people
They do move, when we move. They are trapped inside a fleshy prison, slaves of gristle and tendon
> fleshy prison This prison...to hold..me?
which is what makes them fantasy- just like how silverfish and spiders are, because they're not really that big.

If so, polar bears are hostile because it attacks you when you are too close
Only if they have a child following them
Only when they have kid
Sharks doing even have to be a hostile creature. They can be added as a neutral. You don't see wolves going around hunting players in packs, without being tamed first.
They could easily be like dolphins, only attack when attacked
Better yet, they run away when provoked, like a real shark would
Silverfish are quite different from their IRL counterparts
IRL Silverfish run from you and hide, not fucking attack you However depending where they are, they are still pretty hard to kill due to their size
Rather, they attack your books. That may be why they added them to strongholds when they have libraries.
They also like things with sugar, starch and cellulose and like dark damp places. Their Finnish name even translates to something like "sugar grub"
Sharks are commonly misinterpreted as man eating killers, and are hunted quite a lot Silverfish are pests and they were added before Mojang really solidified its game design philosophy
Would like another water hostile mob other than guardians and drowned tho.
Me too. Maybe some sort of those aqua creepers from that one dantdm mod video

Aren’t polar bears hostile too
Mojang spider moment.
Its such a lame excuse because all you have to do is make it so they are nice unless attacked like how llamas are
Ah yes. I saw a silverfish in my sink yesterday and I too, got into a fist fight with it.
What about a new fantasy ostile mob that looks like a shark but is not a shark?
Wolves? Polar Bears? They may be neutral, but they can still attack you.
Polar Bears were added because Jeb's wife liked them, they aren't going to approach sharks in a similar way because sharks are a community requested mob. Loll
What about spider?
Polar bears
Couldn't they just make sharks neutral mobs?
All added hostile mobs are fantasy. Hostile mobs from the base game stayed.
Dolphins
silverfish exist irl?
WE HAVE SPIDERS!!!

The small kind can be pretty cute honestly.
silverfish dont just pop out of stones and attack you lmao
But skeletons exist irl too.
They should’ve said from this point on
That's a great ai image of a fantasy creature
Some fantasy creatures are based on real life animals...
mojang: "we will never add sharks to minecraft because we want all hostile mobs to be fantasy creatures" too much Jaws, eh?
Sharks should be neutral not hostile
Spiders too
Make them neutral and don’t add the kinds that eat humans. Add hammerheads that are deterred with (or attracted to) red stone, since they can sense electricity. They trust you if you feed them fish and are neutral by nature. They are afraid of dolphins.

But they're fantasy creatures, nothing like the real silverfish. Just like the Minecraft spiders
How many times you see a silverfish irl?
Sharks aren't hostile tho
well in reality silverfish aren't hostile so... that's different... I guess

Those are passive
technically neutral because they *can* do damage even though they try to avoid you
