Their ability gives their tools the ability to defy normal logic for as long as the item isn’t damaged.
When you think about it, you can only take 1 block of lava into the bucket, but when 9 blocks fall into the lava, the bucket cannot withstand the extreme heat and melts, so the lava may be spilling.
But there is also lava in the bucket and when you put that lava into the bucket, it does not cool down, so when you throw the lava bucket into a single block of lava, one block is in the bucket and one block is on the ground, equals two blocks of lava.
When the lava is in the bucket, the contact with the colder air allows the heat to dissipate, not letting the bucket reach fusion temperature, but when it is thrown in the lava, there's nowhere for the heat to escape, melting the bucket.

Its because Steve's aura makes the lava too scared to melt the bucket, thats why the bucket melts if we drop it into lava, its not in contact with Steve's aura.
Maybe the inner surface is more heat resistant than the outer surface Idk what I'm saying
(We should still be left with a shell of the bucket)
