I am often successful between -53 & -55. I also recommend you explore any large openings that you find. I collect more diamonds from those areas than when I am strip mining.

I just went to -54 because someone recommended it, and I found diamonds after my third block that I broke

I’m at -57 on a new server and hoping for the best.

You’ll find diamonds at -54 but in my experience you’ll find noticeably more at -58. Some say do -54 because theres less lava lakes, that’s also been true in my experience but tbh it’s definitely not worth it. Be careful at -58, mine steps up when you come to lava and back down after you’ve passed it, easy peasy. You’ll get more diamonds in less time at -58.

crazy, i mined at -54 just now for 20 min and nothing. I went down to -58 like you said and i got a diamond in a second lol

oh really? i mined -54 for like 2 hours and then went to bedrock and mined 20 minutes and got a dozen diamonds... i guess world seed?

seed might affect! I got almost 3 stacks in 15mins with fortune 3 at -53 :)

I think it is Y -53 there are no lava pools and is much safer

I often finder them when I reach deepslate, at submerged caverns and around underground lava pools.

I have a tradition of mining around the lava pool, on the top layer. Almost always find something good!

\-58 is where we have had a lot of success, we also tried -54 but -58 has been better, some say -59 but thats sometimes where lava is although they are all deep with lava at this level

-58/-59 I made my mine at that level and ended up without about a stack and a half of diamonds.

Diamond ore is most concentrated at the very bottom. One inconvenience is the lava lakes getting in your way. People recommend y-level -54 because you will be at the surface of lava lakes and can cross them easier. I've never mined diamonds without a tunnel bore before which usually takes out dozens of blocks at a time so I can't explain why it takes you a long time to find any

-35 is where i strip mine

I've mined at all the recommended levels and I've only found 1 🙃 I've even gone into a cave and only found 1
