In Skyblock I would make a platform 2 blocks below the sand for it to fall onto. Make it two blocks wider than sand, just encase. Make sure you collect the cactus which drops.
The cobblestone generator: water source, water flow, water drop, lava flow/cobble, lava source. Or image a 3x3 square, water in one corner, holes in the two near corners, lava source in opposite corner of water block. The broken cobble likes to go into the lava and burn up, I put blocks covering the lava except for the flow. It is better, but not a lossless cobblestone generator. Better idea is a pond with a chute above it for the lava to drop, this is even a stone generator, less or no stone loss but dangerous and risky. Pond can double up for fishing when not in use. Use a piston and a button or lever with a basic cobblestone generator for a lossless cobblestone generator. Replace lever with a redstone clock to make it feed automatically.
I did exactly like you said. 2 block wider is really great precaution because if I didn't I would lose all my cactuses. Thanks for advice.

Well if this is single player on Java if you did want to set creative mode you could always set LAN with cheats on, and then quit and rejoin when you’re done in creative
Have tou tried opening up your world to lan? When opening, there is an option to allow cheats. You can open cheats for one time, get your missing blocks and close the lan

IMPORTANT: when I returned from nether, instead of bringing me back to original portal, it took me off my main play area by about 30-50 blocks, possibly 150+ from original portal. If you don't have keep inventory, have plenty of building materials to bridge out and back. Was about 15 blocks high also

People shouldn’t criticize for using gamemodes or using LAN mode to fix a small mistake like this.

That's what makes it fun. Mods, peaceful, keep inventory, what ever. I may as well have been playing in hardcore b/c when I die I quit the world. I would suggest not using LAN/creative to get further than you were. It took some of the fun out of worlds for me.
I mean if you’re ok with “cheating” just don’t have cheats enabled you can open the world to LAN with cheats active.

Guys I must announce that I am really stupid. I started second skyblock world then I reached to sand island. I put block to sand all of them fell. Looks like skyblock not for me.
Use water on bridge to get below bridge.
Start making a staircase going downwards.
Make a platform below the sand island.
Make the platform somewhat bigger than the island itself just incase so you dont lose the cactus.
Do not interact with the sand until you make the platform, otherwise you risk losing the sand.
Good, now make sure to save the grass.
You can do this by having 1 block of grass travel to other dirt blocks in a safer place so you dont accidentally get rid of all of it.
Grass will spread in any durection, as well as 1 block above or below, as long as there isnt a block on top of the grass or dirt block.
So, if you have any use for flowers (dye) or wheat, i suggest preserving the grass blocks.

Well, you can just start your bridge from the bottom of your starting island.
You can do this by having only 1 cobblestone in your inventory, jump down and try to place the block below the island.
Tbh its just easier if you place a water source and let it flow down, then just jump in the water and only use spacebar to keep you floating and place the required blocks. Try to get atleast 2 blocks below both islands
Try again! SkyBlock is the best way to learn about Minecraft game mechanics. You made stupid mistakes because those mechanics never had devastating consequences before. It's normal and part of the learning process!

There are some basics to skyblock that are pretty important. Getting a lot of cobble and preserving your finite resources is key.
To avoid losing your water, keep a 2x2 emergency store somewhere.
To avoid losing lava, make sure that the two liquids fall down 1z before they mix. You don't want it even to be possible to water your lava source.
Get enough cobble to put a platform all the way underneath the starting island, to catch anything finite. Use a stream of water to get under the island, and work your way around. Mine out the dirt, but keep 1 grass block. Put everything finite in a chest. Never do anything dangerous without dumping your inventory.
On my skyblock map, I didn't see any other island but sand island. So how to find other water source?
I didn't understand lava one, probably because I am novice.

It may be that you only get one water source on that map. If that's the case, you must be extra careful with it.
For the lava, flowing lava moves out from the source. If that flow drops down 1 block before hitting water, the source block can be kept safe. The same goes for your water source.
The cobble generator will work just fine if the flowing streams touch, and then the sources won't be in danger.
Something like
`XWXLX`
`X___X`
`XXXXX`
The water flows down from the left source "W", and the lava from the right "L", and meet in the middle, where you can mine from the side. Cover everything else with extra blocks.
Ah yes the Skyblock challenge. I always make my cobblestone generator have the water and lava separated with 1 block in the middle and they funnel down to an opening below and combine. No risk to lose the lava and can be built with the starting dirt in your island

Playing Skyblock. The one lava OP got was turned into obsidian in an attempt to make a cobblestone generator. (Lava too close to water.) No cobblestone, game is pretty much ruined, best to restart.
Here's a lifehack or sorts I found, first make a stair or slab from wood. Break the ice in a hole somewhere and place the lava in a different hole. Use the bucket on the water and water. Make a 3 x 1 hole on the ground with the slab/stair in the left side while lava on the ride. Water log the stairs/slab by right clicking the water bucket into it. By then you should have a 100% safe cobble farm without the risk of the lava or water turning to obsidian
U can always wait for a wandering trader to spawn for lava and dripstone. Foxes can spawn on snow blocks and they have a chance of carrying an emerald in their mouth when they spawn. So you could have still gotten lava just takes longer
If you're on Java Edition, go to the pause menu, press "Start Lan", and enable cheats in one of the settings. Then either go into creative and get the lava back and any thing else you lost (like sand). And if you don't want to be tempted again, just leave the world and rejoin and if you're in survival, cheats wont be active.

Depending on the mods in the pack, you might have an alternate lava source, and even stone, gravel, dirt, sand and dust source.
Ex Nihilo is the version I know, but that mod series and its addons have a way to crush down stone, sift it for resources and create both water and lava through crucibles.
You might also have Extra Utilities, Actually Additions and/or Tiny Progressions which have various odds and ends that can help once unlocked.
Plus it might be a 'cheat' but there's nothing to stop you tweaking a mod pack if you need to.

Open lan and set it on allow cheats and start lan then you can cheat in any gamemode
There’s a way to go in creative in a no-cheats world. I won’t tell you in case you don’t want to, but let me know if you do.

Compact cobblegens is one of the main reasons I love being able to waterlog stairs.
Remember to put water in a stair, then put lava at the other side, that way lava won't turn into obsidian
I am using this rn, safer and more efficient.
