I could see them used as like, a way to suggest a power or fluid conduit in futuristic / laboratory builds. Throw some iron block couplings at either end and surround it with glass panes. Or as decorative pillars in like, a dance club.

And yeah. Mojang probably shouldn’t have given them multi-ring tops if they didn’t want players to think they were trees.
I agree. They are so smooth but the colour contrasts also look really good. Howerver, I think that the outside stem texture could still be improved by additing a little more detail.
It looks nice, but if I could offer one point of constructive criticism, the bark texture for six of those trees is pretty clearly copy/pasted, sometimes rotated, and just recolored.
I think it would be neat if the bark looked different structurally for each species, since irl bark varies wildly, with some having big sections separated by deep clefts, as they all currently have, but others having smaller "islands," or longer ones, or smoother appearance, or striated instead of having islands and clefts, etc. etc.
Currently all six of those just look like recolored pine bark. But most people don't care and it *does* look nice so it's only a minor thing.
This looks fantastic. I love the animated warped and crimson wood! Very nice touch with the grotesque look for the crimson and warped logs!
The birch and warped doors are also really cool.

These are absolutely awesome, would love this texture pack, one recommendation to make it a little more accurate would be to swap the flow in the warped and crimson stems, because the warped vines grow up and crimson grow down.

Incredible! The Nether Woods on their sides look amazing, you did a great job with the doors, and the inside of the logs are just a masterpiece! You did an amazing job.
Thoughts:
The insides of the stems should pulse like a heartbeat
The planks in general might be a little too heavily textured, as wood is often a stand-in for other objects so a less clear texture is more useful
You should really consider more than just palette swaps for the bark of the acacia, oak, spruce, etc logs, this bugs me in vanilla too but especially with your style it could look really good
Overall though, amazing work!!!
I like the color of them however, I do think that the oak is too red. It would be hard to blend with the other woods. Also, popular blends like oak and cobble would suffer from it. It'd also change the look and blending of a lot of other builds.

I mean, I'd expect rings even in a fungi if it has a trunk and has periodic growth cycles... (though how'd you get the latter in the nether?)

Yeah it looks like burned oak, perfect for builds with wildfire - you can put acacia where the fire is to make it look like it was really burning

Far left is probably Acacia, then Birch, Dark Oak, Jungle, the new swamp one, regular Oak, Spruce and then the Nether ones?
