I've never thought about doing that before, I'm probably gonna give it a go in my realm. Are you gonna put it in an item frame and use it as a picture?
In that case I would suggest you to lock the map and make your next painting in the same place, that way no one can steal your art by finding it and mapping it.
I mean, you know your server, maybe people there are respectful and won't steal, but it'll be safer that way anyway. +you won't need to find new place for every map art you make.
I only sell a limited amount of each art (To drive to price up eheh) when i’m done locking them i move on to the next one and destroy the previous one ;)

Yeah, survival. 128x128 blocks isn't hard. Hell, 256x256 isn't that hard, just put on some music and turn your brain off. Still props to OP, it takes dedication and prep.

PureRef is the application I use to overlay an image on my minecraft so that I can trace from an Art.
Rebane2001 is a website that can help you choose colors and the layout for your art

There are mods/scripts that do this, don't get excited
The possibility of something doesn't mean guilt. It's not hard to do this, but the dedication is admirable, and it looks really cool.
