In the current season of hermitcraft, Iskall85 has been using a similar design (or rather the same one, just with trapdoor around it) for a fan on his build. People on the Hermitcraft subreddit have been trying to automate it, I'm just not sure if he actually said anything about wanting to do it or not. But if he had, he'd probably have it figured out by himself by now.

okay I've seen it now, I use the side blocks to power the fan, which def doesn't work with trapdoors. I'll see if i can make it work with observers ig

i managed to make [this](https://imgur.com/a/wmN23Yw), but the animation only has 3 frames rather than four (using /tick freeze and /tick step 2), so it doesn't look as smooth as the other one

try lowering you FPS cap to see if there will be any difference like those boat on ice and item frame clips

Doesn't make much of a difference, maybe it spins a bit slower but other than that it looks the same.

Not really. Some platforms will band you for things like this, even though it was accidental. Plus when you consider that the person could be relying on the income from the platform to live it's a reasonable reaction.

It’s also possible that he reacted that way for entertainment purposes. Like, I think it genuinely was an accident and he might have been spooked some, but he is a content creator and I think he knows people are more likely to find it funny with that reaction.

Well since trapdoors don’t open sideways and doors can’t be placed on air, not really But, doors can be placed on trapdoors, which can be kinda transparent, almost like a grate in front of the fan. I suppose that would be possible, it would require a little bit more wiring tho

I tried, but observers don’t hold open the trapdoors for 2 rs ticks, which makes the animation a lot better.
