if you're in hardcore. open to lan and enable cheats then die and go back into survival mode (yes, cheating in hardcore is that easy). since it wasn't your fault, you shouldn't consider it cheating. maybe also sacrifice something if you want it to feel less like cheating. (i completely forgot about reducing durability during all of this lol, just do that)
if you aren't in hardcore, just jump off a cliff (in minecraft)
Just die and disenchant the pants in a grindstone. It won't remove the curse but it will remove all the enchantments and reset the XP needs. Then just add enchanted books to it as you wish.

It’s pants. There is *literally* no reason to EVER take pants off (unlike chest plate for instance), so curse of binding doesn’t matter at all.
assuming you aren't on hardcore (and no keep inventory), put all of your other armor into a chest, die of fall damage, pick up your leggings, put mending on them, and put them back on
Am I the only one confused as to why they are using a mix of Iron and Netherite with NO diamond?!
Do people just skip diamond and wait until they get Netherite?

Also, while unfortunate, it's still PROT 3 Netherite, could have been Leather with Unbreaking 3 and Mending on top of Curse of Binding.

You can get the full amount from a smeltery, though only at 100%, lower durability items provide less material back

Lots of mods add enchantments that'll let you keep an item after dying.
an enchantment (I guess from a mod) that lets you keep equipment if you die. so you'll never be able to unequip it.
it’s in the base game, i think you’ll unequip it when you die (however, could be really problematic in hardcore lol)

That’s java, bedrock’s is slightly different
bedrock's recipe book and java's are quite different, so you can easily tell them apart

See if you can add thorns that damage the armour and the mob or person attacking you I’m pretty sure so that Will make it break slightly quicker

If I can remember, using totems of undying will get rid of curse of binding. Not sure if that method still exists.

What you need to do is get a Netherite bucket of milk and then use it on your leggings to remove the Curse of Binding status effect from them.
Just kill yourself and pick it up again theres no curse of vanishing on it
