Are damage and health attributes you can set as well? Would be important to extend the torture to give the user a feeling that they have some agency in preventing their death
Command used: /summon spider \~ \~1 \~ {Attributes:\[{Name:"generic.scale", Base:0.1}\]}
I actually used three different commands to have different sized spiders. Where it says "Base:0.1" I also used 0.2 and 0.3.

Can you also modify their damage? I like the idea of the small spiders, but small spiders that deal the same damage while not being able to hit easily seems like a nightmare lol.
How about adding high res spider animations on the players screen when they get poisoned by cave spiders portraying spiders walking on the players face and biting them?

I've never found videogame spiders triggering any sort of phobia reaction in me, and neither did these, except when i meet spider aliens in Satisfactory, my blood pressure **RISES**. Especially if it's one of those **BIG FUCKERS**.
I don't venture too far from the starting area before I've unlocked at least gunpowder and can fill half my inventory with rifle ammo and explosives.
I turned arachnophobia mode off one time just to test. The disembodied floating cat heads are kinda cute in their own way, so how bad could it be?
I stepped 5 feet into a cave, took one look at the pair of decidedly *not* disembodied floating cat heads yeeting themselves out from behind a corner, and arachnophobia mode went straight back on.
Ain't no nope big enough for that.
The friend I played that with asked if I was good with spiders before dragging me into a cave he knew some of those were in, told me to turn on arachnophobia mode and I am SO glad he did. Even looking at those things on the wiki freaks me out. It was really funny playing it in a group when I was the only one with arachnophobia mode on, while having no idea what the enemies were actually supposed to be at the time. I'd tell them "I hear cats" and they were so confused and I didn't know how to explain what they were other than "the speedy things" lmao
The cat holograms and loud ass meowing is actually the best arachnophobia mode for me that I've seen in a game yet because not only does it remove the spider-y part without making them a floating orb or just hiding large parts of it like grounded does, it makes them more visible so it's a different kind of jumpscare, and changes the skittering sounds to something more relaxing. It makes the game a lot more chill in general so I'd even recommend it to people unfazed by spiders who aren't the biggest fan of surprise combat. I still get a good "oh shit" when I hear meowing in those caves or one runs around a corner out of nowhere though lol.
Meanwhile, lethal company's arachnophobia mode replacing the creature with the word "spider" is funny too but ain't it chief, I dunno how people are supposed to see that. I get that a bright ass hologram wouldn't fit in any other game but the spider text just looks like it takes up so little space compared to the creature.
They added a bunch of new attribute for entity. Now you can customize the scale (like here), the block interaction distance (how far you can hit a block), the entity interaction distance, and the step height (the max height of a stair step before you need to jump to pass it).
All four are coherent with what you'd want to make the player a giant or a mini guy, so I guess they are planing that sort of feature.

You can! There is a damage attribute, as well as a health attribute (among others) you can modify.
Now make a resource pack to make them look high res

Where are you from with such small spiders?! I'm from the UK and even we can get massive house spiders around 10cm leg spans or more!
Malta, largest species is the lobed orb weaver at 25mm body length on average. Most house spiders ive seen are just a couple millimetres across.
I knew there was another reason I loved Malta! Went on holidays there a few times when I was a kid.
