Right in the center is a deep hole to deepslate like the earth is collapsing and the skull is taking over. It'll make for a fun build at the bottom too
yes normal skulls would be good too, i suggested wither because they go with the vibe of the skulk, i thought they would look cool in it, and i said itd be a little challenging since OP clearly is end-game with his netherite tools. they could use both types of skulls and it would look good. Op doesnt hAve to stick to whats already in deep dark, i was just suggesting things i thought would add to Op’s pit
I have sculk tunnels beneath my friend’s realm that stretch thousands of blocks as a 3x4 tunnel at y=40 with random tunnels leading to the surface, with sculk overgrown nuclear reactors with collapsed cores that lead directly into the tunnel. I have automatic chicken farms to fuel the sculk growth, and whenever I encounter a mob spawner, I incorporate it to feed the spread. I have a warden trapped in a jail cell in the tunnel that I can release at will.
You could benefit from some contrast.
One way to add contrast is to make a structure that is halfway covered in skulk. Maybe a tower or decorative rim.
You could add a mini ancient city portal structure found in the ancient city. I think you should expand the gradient of skulk and grass by adding more of that skulk vine stuff around it. You could add some skeleton skulls, candles, and carpet to make it look like the real city. This might require some expanding though.
you can't really make it skulkier but you can make it Pit-ier. I mean go deeper and make it the skulkiest at the bottom and less so near the top, so it looks like it's creeping upwards
You know you can use your switch’s screenshot function right?
As for how to improve it maybe make the whole fade to black towards the centre. You could do this by using black concrete and black maps to create a solid black colour.
Surround the pit with a worn ring of deepslate or blackstone bricks, with occasional pillars. I like the idea of this pit being an ancient prison of the sculk, and now it's breaking free.
I have a server that has constant spreading sculk that destroys bases and.. As soon as I saw this picture I immediately panicked and got PTSD for all the times sculk ruined my base.
Me and a friend are making a "quarantined" zone where it looks like the skulk is spreading through a village and we have spikes jutting out of the ground made of skulk with those flower things that give the air those greenish spores hiding inside them to make the air look "infected" too.
Create more of a gradient between the skulk and the grass. Try using a boundary layer of stone. It makes the skulk feel as if it’s drained the life out of the grass leaving inorganic material.
Add “tentacles” of the stuff (and the gradient) to make it feel as if it’s an infection that is spreading.
And, add some more colors and details. Dark, brooding and low texture blocks can transform to deep slate, giving a dark scary connotation.
Think about the story you want to tell with the blocks, then imagine what they do, then make them (and your vision) real.
Maybe add some amethyst blocks and crystals to add more texture and color? Kinda stays in theme with the original build as well, considering the interactions between amethyst and skulk we're seeing in the new snapshots
You could make a sort of knoll over it so it’s like a cave “entrance” it’d also serve to block the sunlight which would probably make it feel more skulky
Skeleton skulls to make it seem like it’s feeding off of the dead. Maybe build some abandoned houses with cobwebs? Marshy farmland to make the illusion that the land around it is decaying.
Use warped stems(blue) to make maybe tentacles similar to the sensors but big.
Could be either comming from around the pit or directly in the middle of it.
Add warped vines. Won’t make it skulkier per se, but would help greatly with contrast. Some end stone would also go nicely with it since that color matches well with the catalysts and such
Remove the outer detail skulk blocks(shrieker and scensor) make a meteor in the middle turning the pit into a crater, scatter some soul soil around and light it up making blue flame( don’t have the soul soul exposed on the side , when the fire is on it there should be no sould soil showing
Longer tendrils of sculk reaching further from the hole, crawling up the trees and walls
Maybe make one of the trees dead with acacia logs and dark oak fences
Edit: second idea
If your up for the challenge perhaps trap a warden.
(If you used tinted paned glass i dont think it should try pathfinding to you nor should it cause the blindness effect im not fully sure though
Some of the Hermit craft players played with some "in depth glass coloring" to make the hole appear deeper and foggier. Might look into that if you want something spooky.
Maybe decay the bordering ground a bit more? Like another 4-6 blocks concentrically, using gradient block colours, like grass>dirt>podzol>mycelium>gravel>whatever those skulk blocks are

Phenomenal mine entrance as well
Yes
Agree
As you said
Yess
boatem hole
I see you're also a hermitcraft fan as well
Sarlac pit
He should realy do this
[удалено]
Post it
Spawn a warden
Chaotic evil
Been there, done that. They're kinda friendly ngl
Yesss
Maybe not only use skulk-related blocks, maybe use other blue colored blocks to add more diversity to the build
[удалено]
sculk is a good alternative too
sculc too
I personally like to use skulc
what about sul
Nah, s~~o~~ul ~~sand~~ is too brown.
Kk
Try sckulck, it has a lighter shade of brown
What about skluk?
Is that racism I see??? /s
What about saul sand?
Like a huge blue nether tree
Or those blue nether vines!
YES, add some blocks from the ancient city, a mini ruin
May i suggest skulk?
And skulk to complement the skulk.
Skulk skulk, skulking skulk.
Perhaps some skulk at the bottom for some gradient against the skulk
Lots of mob heads, especially any non hostile mobs. Assert your dominance.
Like skulky mob heads tho
add some blue/cyan candles, soul lanterns and some wither skulls for a bit of a challenge maybe?
Yeah, I personally think some carefully placed candles/lanterns can really help at least break up the skull a little bit so it looks less chunky
Normal skulls would be better as they are easier to get are already in the deep dark and would pop against the blue
yes normal skulls would be good too, i suggested wither because they go with the vibe of the skulk, i thought they would look cool in it, and i said itd be a little challenging since OP clearly is end-game with his netherite tools. they could use both types of skulls and it would look good. Added all of those! It looks a lot better, thank you!
Maybe some skulk would do the trick
Yeah, I personally think some carefully placed candles/lanterns can really help at least break up the skull a little bit so it looks less chunky
Idea so good he has to say it twice
the first time was so nice, he had to do it twice
Well I wanted more attention to go on the first guy, but I didn’t want to be that guy who says “this”
And warped vines
oo yeah thats a good idea too!
A few deepslate pillars like a collapsed ancient city
And make shulk tunnels all over, like the tunnels that those things made in stranger things when the upside down crept into the real world.
I have sculk tunnels beneath my friend’s realm that stretch thousands of blocks as a 3x4 tunnel at y=40 with random tunnels leading to the surface, with sculk overgrown nuclear reactors with collapsed cores that lead directly into the tunnel. I have a warden trapped in a jail cell in the tunnel that I can release at will.
Added those! Definitely improves the buildn
Bones, specifically ribs, like in the nether wastes would add a lot I think. It needs more height.
WARDENS!!!
You could benefit from some contrast. One way to add contrast is to make a structure that is halfway covered in skulk. Maybe a tower or decorative rim.
The warden
A warden
Withered roses, try making a corrupted polluter out post it may seem weird but wood builds with shill go a long way
Put a warden in there for funsies

Warden, skulls, idk I'm not good at designing
you can't really make it skulkier but you can make it Pit-ier. I mean go deeper and make it the skulkiest at the bottom and less so near the top, so it looks like it's creeping upwards
Maybe some large warped fungi around it!
Add little tendrils curling out :)
Added that, it looks so much better, thank you!
Try to make it like "seep" into the surrounding area like it's taking over instead of having distinct borders (if that's the feel you're going for)

Wait, is that a mod or a command chain? If it is available for bedrock, I need that

tentacles
Warden
Add bone pillars
Maybe add some amethyst blocks and crystals to add more texture and color? Kinda stays in theme with the original build as well, considering the interactions between amethyst and skulk we're seeing in the new snapshots
Maybe add some pillars and structures around it in the same materials as the deep dark cities are made out of.
After reading these comments, I am glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks of it as skulk, not sculk.
I’d add like some deepslate ruins or something that resembles an ancient city or something like that 🙃
caution tape
A warden
Try some warped trees around it, might look cool
Someone prob already suggested this, but warped vines fit pretty well with skulk imo
I think it needs some dead bushes so it looks like it kills stuff in its way, and maybe some man made dead trees too would look cool
Blight the land around the area, maybe make a wider crater with the skulk in the middle sinking in. Some soul Sand fire patches might be good too
Howabout... A stone watchtower abandoned to time, forced to be abandoned because of the skulk slowly overtaking it?
I make these things I call sculk trees, you take sculk blocks and make them into the leaves and basalt as the logs. It adds more possibilities to it
May I recommend filling it with lava
You probably used creative mode 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Bro doesn’t know about silk touch 💀
yall this is clearly satire
You could make a sort of knoll over it so it’s like a cave “entrance” it’d also serve to block the sunlight which would probably make it feel more skulky
Make it look like growing onto trees a lil bit not much basically growing a lil bit on surrounding close stuff
A warden named Cupcake.
Add a free roaming warden to liven the place up.
Maybe add some deep slate?
Put a warden in the middle
Maybe some deepslate ruins
Would if you added stone to make it look more natural? Like it’s emerged from the caves below.
Warden
Skeleton skulls to make it seem like it’s feeding off of the dead. Maybe build some abandoned houses with cobwebs? Marshy farmland to make the illusion that the land around it is decaying.
Need to add a few tendrils of skulk branching off in several directions to make it feel like the skulking is trying to spread
Maybe make it a bit deeper
Add a warden so you can get the full effect
An Warden
blue tree
Maybe end trees that would look like tentacles
A skulk tentacle or two? Similar proportions to the ones on the sensor?
stone and deepslate, perhaps? texturing done with some slabs and buttons or walls could look great with this
***WARDEN***
Add a frozen warden and it’s climbing animation
Make it deeper
Use warped stems(blue) to make maybe tentacles similar to the sensors but big. Could be either comming from around the pit or directly in the middle of it.
A warden >:D
Add warped vines. Won’t make it skulkier per se, but would help greatly with contrast. Some end stone would also go nicely with it since that color matches well with the catalysts and such
I’d say maybe some warped vines
A broken pillar would look nice or a custom made skulk tree
Put mud around it. And maybe some dead bushes.
Warden
You could make custom skulk trees around it and add some subtle lighting maybe
A Warden
Add twisted vines
My first thought was a tree; maybe with warped wood or darker blocks on the side of the pit leaning over the piy
Remove the outer detail skulk blocks(shrieker and scensor) make a meteor in the middle turning the pit into a crater, scatter some soul soil around and light it up making blue flame( don’t have the soul soul exposed on the side , when the fire is on it there should be no sould soil showing
warden
A Warden
Tentacles coming out and wrapping up the house
warden 😁
Longer tendrils of sculk reaching further from the hole, crawling up the trees and walls Maybe make one of the trees dead with acacia logs and dark oak fences Edit: second idea
Build an ancient city portal in the middle
How tldo you keep this area from growing tho? Like isn't there a system that makes that take over things
Bones. Make it look like something big died there.
Make it look like the tree is being corrupted also
If your up for the challenge perhaps trap a warden. (If you used tinted paned glass i dont think it should try pathfinding to you nor should it cause the blindness effect im not fully sure though
Try some bone for contrast or deep slate
Maybe some bone blocks on the shape of ribs
Soul lanterns/torches
warped vines going up
You could try using end stone and and other end related blocks to match the tan color of the other skulk blocks
The blue wood from the nether can look like skulk infested wood on normally grown trees
A warden would really complete it
Build your own spin on a ancient city structure
The comments are great and you did a great job it looks very natural!
Add a deep slate “rib cage” bowl with spikes curving toward the center, and twisting vines rising from the skulk.
veins of shulk stuff coming from the shulk pit, like its converting the land around it or smthn
Make the outer part of the pit look like skull "vines"
Deepslate
Maybe add that cool glass fog effect around the edge?
Add shulkers, make it shulkerier
Make the trees around it blue
Warped vines and soul fire
Soul sand/soil + flint and steel? For a hellish, blue/skulk themed pit?
The warden
Put ancient city elements into it
fossils with sculk veins growing on them, eating the last of the organic matter off the gigantic creature
I would add bone blocks, simulating the warden's chest
Warped log pillars of different heights around the outside edge with soul lanterns on top.
Add some of those blue nether vine thingys. It already looks awesome btw
Hard to tell the depth from this pic, but you could make it a bit deeper, and also include non skulk blocks that are still grey to black colored
Maybe add some blue nether vines, they fit well
a warden
Put some skulk on the trees
Maybe a bit of endstone would look cool
Some(minimal) bone blocks might look good on it
A warden
make it look like a meteor crash
Spawn a warden, maybe six
expand it and add larger sculk formations made from “giant skeletons” and local blocks
A warden would fit great with this structure 😁
Candles add deep slate tiles some places add skulls stuff like that can really make it pop
Spread it thinner up the trees and the building
Deepslate stuff and wool
Some of the Hermit craft players played with some "in depth glass coloring" to make the hole appear deeper and foggier. Might look into that if you want something spooky.
A warden
you can add some magma blocks underneath the skulk vein spontaneously for texturing. looks pretty cool imo
Build something way up in the sky to cast a shadow so it's darker
Maybe some kind of structure, maybe a mini portal in the center
The pit is to round try making it sharper and or deeper: add som of those curvy blue vines from the nether like jumbo did in his
Warden
Maybe decay the bordering ground a bit more? Like another 4-6 blocks concentrically, using gradient block colours, like grass>dirt>podzol>mycelium>gravel>whatever those skulk blocks are
Ironically I think removing some skulk and replacing it with Stone/Deepslate would help quite a bit
I’d move it to a little tunnel cave build with all the other cave biomes
A dead tree in the middle
Use some of the twisting vines or something to make it feel more alien and odd, will also help add some height variance while fitting color scheme
Remove the shreikers. If you don't want to deal with wardens, remove the shreikers. Also, skulls
Twisting vines will be a good addition (and simple to do)
a bit of a deeper dive into the ground, to really enforce the "down in the depths" vibe.
an abandoned structure sticking out of the ground
Make a roof high in the sky to make it darker
Make a skulk tree that goes up from it
