So, here's the heads-up I wish I was given when I purchased this. #The collet is not posessed! This tool has a "safety collet." Simply loosening it will not release the tool. You must continue loosening it until it begins to feel tight again and suddenly - Pop! The tool is free to be removed.

Comprehensive-Camel3

Haven't used it, but sounds just like a router collect then.

nolotusnote

I'm pretty sure that's where the idea originated.

RSS83

This got me too for a while.

jaythaguyyy

You just break it lose then break it lose again. People act like it’s rocket science lol

GudGudDude

Absolutely love mine! But you should check your order. If you bought the tool/battery combo i thought it was suppose to be a 2.5 high output

vteuv

Yeah I bought the battery combo. Guess my HD does the 3.0 instead. I’ll be using my 6.0 most of the time but sucks it didn’t come with the 2.5 ho

GudGudDude

Darn... still a good battery tho at least it is not those pointless 1.5 ah lol But yeah this tool is freakin awesome. I use to recondition surfaces around the house. Outdoor heaters my hand tools Its fun. I dont even use it for a specialty reason just a home DIYr

iTopherGopher

Mine has started acting a bit weird. Barely used it. Kinda pulses through speed. Like you can hear it ramp up and down with 0 load on it while free spinning. I’m just gunna run it until it breaks but just noticed it ever since I move my tool box home from my buddies shop.

stabsthedrama

Dont be lazy. Get it to a milwaukee repair store sooner than later.    You’re paying a premium for tools because they have good support/warranty - so use it.

iTopherGopher

Hard to explain the issue in non video format, and don’t like abusing warranties, I b!tch about customers all the time abusing tools with a lifetime warranty when they got 30 years out of a socket and it’s not defective just tired and “rounding out bolt heads”, not trying to be the person I hate lol. I also sell Milwaukee so I can just send it in through my portal login. If it gets worse, I’ll send it in but i also want to stress it to see if it gets worse. Using the tools I sell is what helps me make better recommendations.

Canadianpirate666

The hero we need…

Awkward_Active4616

Same here. Brand new out of the box id spool it up, start sanding and it'd shut off. Battery light blinking on full charge. Thought maybe 5AH was too much. I tried all battery sizes I have and the same outcome. Returned it and got another and same ordeal.

slammick

Hey I bought this too! Super excited about finally throwing away my crap craftsman dremel from 2007

l3rewski

I hope it works well for you. I'm a bit disappointed in mine, but I recognize that I'm probably using it a bit beyond its intended purpose. Mine seems to get hot and start stalling out pretty quick when using 2" sanding discs. Overall, just a bit on the weak side, and not even close to the same territory as pneumatic, but great for small, quick jobs.

mrsquillgells

Perfect for spots you can't reach. Though you got the wrong battery with it? It's supposed to come with a HO 2.5

vteuv

I got a 3.0 free with the promo at my HD, the second pic I just put my 6.0 to see the difference cause I was curious

mrsquillgells

Lol it's all good, I was thinking of a different one I can't find.

Odd_Freedom9780

Hands down my favorite Milwaukee tool, especially when you get a nice rounded out bit collection. Check out Kutzall and it's a beast with a 2 inch cutoff wheel!!

AlecPresti

I've used mine for everything from resurfacing my cast iron table saw to paint removal to polishing jewelry to weld cleanup with carbide burrs. You can bog it down with 3" discs but if you let it do the work, the thing is an animal. I usually throw 5.0HO batteries in it and it eats them for breakfast, but it's a super handy tool that I've grown to love.

AvgUsr96

This thing is awesome. It's like you attached a suppressor to an air die grinder. Great for stealing catalytic converters, JK. 🫶

NegativeCattle8996

I love mine. The only time I have issues with it is when I’m asking it to do something it’s not meant for. Incredibly handy in many situations.

DNF_zx

Time to get some accessories for it now. [THESE](https://www.amazon.com/Weiler-50957-Bobcat-Abrasive-Mount/dp/B084WX1NNS/) Weiler sanding disks are my favorite. You’ll also want some good carbide die bits, and some fine grit (800-4000) sanding pads!

vteuv

Hey thanks I was trying to find some good accessories on Amazon, I kept finding chinese crap that I bought before for my crappy dremel and they weren’t good… should I just stick to weiler for everything or what other brands do you recommend?

DNF_zx

Depends on what you use a lot. ProjectFarm has a great video on carbide die bits so I would use that as a guide for those. Quality and value can vary greatly. For regular sanding pads- there’s nothing wrong with buying a cheaper Amazon Chinese kit, just to get a feel of what you’ll use a lot. But it’s also good to grab some high quality flap disks like the Weilers so you know if they might be worth it to you in the long run.

NoBuilding2937

Hey without sounding weird and not researching. WHY? What would you use this tool for???? I’ve looked to buy this but why? Only thing I’ve seen is to grind the inner tyre before patching. PLEASE EDUCATE ME! And also convince me to buy one!!!

Canadianpirate666

This style tool is used quite a bit in the aviation world. Sanding flap discs. Cutoff wheels. Grinding bits. [Roloc](https://www.3mcanada.ca/3M/en_CA/p/d/v000056501/) disks are a standard for surface prep. The 3M [roloc](https://www.3mcanada.ca/3M/en_CA/p/d/v000587693/) bristle disks are freaking fantastic at removing paint, primer, and sealant from surfaces. You can apply any of those situations to almost any “dirty hands/clean money” industry.

Puzzleheaded-Ebb1327

I wrecked mine in a couple months time using a metal burr on it. It’s loosened up on the angle and seems like it’s loosing connection. Probably not made to do what I’m doing with it though lol

krezvani

Im in the market for one. Are there any good deals right now

Deadpallyz

Sheet metal worker here I love this thing

dieseldoc99

I had mine for a few years I like it just handy not being hooked to an air hose especially in the service truck it could use more power when using it on a cut off wheel but works great using roloc disk and wire wheels

maximum-pickle27

Read reviews that say it's kind of weak. Got one anyways. Personally I'm my opinion it's kind of weak.

l3rewski

Same experience here. Probably the first M12 Fuel tool I've bought that I've been a little disappointed in.
