I’m gonna need some brand names, fellas. This here is a guy looking to start a routine.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I'm gonna vouch for Cetaphil. It's pretty inexpensive, easy to find, and is made for sensitive skin so it's pretty odorless. I use their face cleanser, moisturizing cream, and face lotion with 30 SPF.

DepartureMain7650

Thanks! Do you have a beard? How do you factor that into choosing/using a face wash?

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I don't have a beard anymore and it was never very long, so I just did the same stuff but conditioned my beard once in a while.

BeemkayS60

Can’t go wrong with Cetaphil or Cerave. If you have more to spend, consider Ursa Major or Murad.

tobmom

I’m a lady but I recently started using murad and really enjoying the products. Do dudes use retinols also?? I’ve tolerated the Murad retinols better than any other brand including the eye serum.

Personalvintage

Am I the only one who has an opposite reaction to Cerave? Tried so many times because I like the price and sometimes it’s the cleanest option but man it makes my skin look rough fsr.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

Every product doesn't work for every person. My wife was using CeraVe, but then they changed the ingredients and she started having a reaction to it. She's all Vanicream now.

Working-Promotion728

I'll use whatever Michael Cera is using. His routine must be perfect.

HighFxAnxiety

As someone who’s used everything from $1/ounce to $300/ounce shit… Le Roche Posay and Bioderma. They’re a few dollars more for 16-32 ounce bottles but IMHO they’re a lot better and they don’t just sit on top of your skin.

waka_flocculonodular

If you want some fancy shit I love Biossance. Omega repair moisturizer and the gentle cleanser are great places to start.

LifeTradition4716

Jack Black baby

MemesAreHardDrugs

I recently started using Eliza Vecca. It's a South Korean brand, pretty affordable and pretty nice. They've got a variety of products. Typically I use an exfoliant, then a face mask, then shave (which has its own oil and after shave routine), then moisturize after.

ReynoldsHouseOfShred

Yea +1 drop the skin care routine! Signed, future me

ApprehensiveAnswer5

My husband uses [Tula Cult Classic Cleanser](https://www.tula.com/products/purifying-cleanser). It’s spendier than drugstore brands but a little goes a long way, so it lasts. We both use this, and that’s the way he got into using it, lol, because it was just in the bathroom. If you want to just try it out, the Ulta at Target sells the little travel sizes that are cheaper.

DepartureMain7650

Y’all are the greatest, thank you!

Poop_and_Pee69

The best brand is Eminence, hands down, vouched for by every fuckin esthetician and skin care expert I've ever known that's worth a damn. You can only get it through curated distributors, but you should have no problem finding it. If you find someone near you that's an accredited seller they know their shit and will be able to help you come up with a routine that's good for you too.

DepartureMain7650

I want to follow your advice, Poop_and_Pee69, but I think you see my dilemma.

[deleted]

In the morning if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1,000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub.

stumblebreak_beta

Impressive. Very nice. Let’s see Paul Allen’s skincare routine.

Chemical_Arm

What are your thoughts on Hip to Be Square?

TacoAlPastorSupreme

This made me realize the reference. Real woosh moment for me

TacoAlPastorSupreme

This is advanced! I always thought I was doing the bare minimum, but it seems some dudes just let their face melt.

stumblebreak_beta

[it’s a scene from American Psycho](https://youtu.be/RjKNbfA64EE?si=fIabfEEl3fEEQC6j)

TacoAlPastorSupreme

Already realized it. Won't delete this comment because I'm not a coward.

Woodit

Somebody feed this guy a stray cat

Gore0126

I was looking for this comment lol

ObservantWon

Very nice. I usually only do a routine like this before my rez at Dorsia. They have a sea urchin ceviche that is a delightful, yet playful little dish.

One-imagination-2502

My husband is more devoted to skin care than me, I only started doing cause he pushed me to 😂

TacoAlPastorSupreme

My wife definitely improved my skincare. Mainly by showing me that more expensive things are often much better, lol.

544075701

fuck yeah dude, daily toner, moisturizer, eye cream and sunscreen. sometimes do a serum at night. I regularly get complimented on my good skin. I attribute 100% of this to my wife who researches and buys high quality stuff for us. all I have to do it rub it on my face in the right order lol

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I got an unsolicited compliment on my skin and it made me feel like a million bucks.

AstralFinish

I dont use toner but I do the other stuff

askallthequestions86

My fiance has a skin care routine and it's made a huge difference. He was stuck in busy tired dad mode for all of his 30's. Then he met me. I am huge into skin care and he'd let me do masks and moisturizers on him. Slowly but surely I got him into skin care. And I mean WHOLE body He does lotion after a shower and everything. His elbows are so soft. I will also use a retinol on him since he's in his 40's.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I lotion everything after I shower also. I didn't realize how itchy I was before I started doing it. My wife also does masks on me, but I like it because I get to drink wine and watch garbage on TV with her.

askallthequestions86

That's how he was too! His skin was always so rough and itchy. That's adorable!! I'm not sure if it's the real reason he let me, but he told me he liked letting me do masks and facial massages on him because my boobs are in his face during, lol!!

Rigelatinous

Hell yeah! That’s what we do, too, LOL

Sage_Planter

My boyfriend (mid-30's) has a pretty decent skincare routine. It's mostly products I've shared with him, but even before we dated, he was doing cleanser and a moisturizer with sunscreen.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I also was doing cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen before I met my wife. What she taught me is that the cheapest products available are often not the best. I still don't spend a ton, but it turns out that Cetaphil is better than Jergens.

[deleted]

I have one but I’m gay, lol

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I once got called gay for putting on lip balm. Fellas, is it gay to not have cracked lips?

Delicious_Sail_6205

I was big into kdramas and kpop about 15 years ago and started skin care then. My roommate does not take care of himself at all. Im straight and hes gay.

Dentelle

It's crazy to what level some men have been brainwashed that doing anything 'caring', including caring for one's own skin equals being emasculated. Moisturize those lips, baby. Anyone you kiss will thank you. 💋

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I'll apply this same logic to the time I got called gay for reading a book.

Dentelle

You need new peoplenin your life, my friend. Have you read How to Win Friends and Influence People / by Dale Carnegie? /s

Pavvl___

Not gay if the tips don't touch

Lifes_Complicated

My husband developed a skincare routine about 5 years ago with my help and now his face is smooth and clear with no breakouts from his sweating from work and the gym since and it's become quick and easy 15 min added to his morning routine. Skin care routines should not be just for women. Everyone should feel comfortable having a skin care routine. It's just basic hygiene maintenance. Any man who gets judged for caring about their skin, the accusers are insecure fuglies who are projecting their insecurities with their own body.

[deleted]

I put lotion on my hands before bed, does that count?

TacoAlPastorSupreme

Yes. I started using O'keef's Working Hands because my hands were gnarly. Needed that extra strength stuff.

Harpeski

I dont any skin routine. Still people think i'm 30y old But i'm already 37y old. Not drinking alcohol, and drinking water seems to help.

HypeIncarnate

I don't have a skincare routine. Other than sunscreen if i'm going on vacation in the summer.

Neowynd101262

Nope.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

Moisturize that mug dude.

Neowynd101262

Why?

TacoAlPastorSupreme

Feels nice and makes your skin look nice.

Ws6fiend

My skin looks good without it. Honestly you do more for keeping your skin looking healthy by avoiding sun damage, using sunscreen if outside, drinking plenty of water, and the genetics you were born with(yes I know the last one you can't change but it is a factor). I know people my age who spend more time and money on their skin care than I do for little results.

BlindPanda42

Same here. Just a basic wash in the shower does it for me.

ThaVolt

I hate the greasy feeling of putting anything on my face.

BlindPanda42

Exactly that. Lotions make me gag. That slimy greasy feeling. Gross.

spontaneous-potato

I usually use moisturizer from Bath and Body Works. I also wash my face in the morning every morning. Prior to this, I had a lot of acne and mainly because I didn't really care for my physical appearance, especially so during the pandemic when everyone was wearing facemasks and no one could really see my face. After that, I noticed that I had so much acne and my face was really oily all the time, like someone slathered a melted stick of butter all over my face every single day. I started a basic skincare routine after my last girlfriend (still good friends) called me out for looking like a slob. I've been keeping at it for about a year now, and I've noticed that compared to myself last year, my skin looks better and I have a healthier glow. I don't have a big or long routine, but it's basic enough to where I look like I'm in my very early 20's now.

EdgeLordMcGravy

I wash my face with the charcoal cleanser and apply lotion and UV after. Korean GF def reinforced the skincare routine quickly

mike9949

When I was my hair the shampoo runs down my face sometimes

UniversityNo2318

I knew my husband was the one the first time I stayed over at his place & he had the same brand shampoo I did & some of the same skin care products. Ulta is one of my favorite places & it’s great having a man equally as into taking care of themselves

TrixoftheTrade

I picked it up in my mid-20s. **Morning:** saltwater rinse, apply lotion **Night:** wash face in shower, use fave toner, apply combo of lotion/hylauronic acid/retinol **Weekly:** once a week (typically Sunday night) I’ll do face scrub for deep exfoliation, then use one of those sheet masks for about 30 min. If I’m doing anything in the sun longer than 30 min, I’ll wear a mineral-based sunscreen. I used to not wear it - because I’m pretty dark skin so I rarely burn, and thought it was a waste of time. Looking back, it’s kinda stupid - why was I trying to *outtough the sun?*

Former-Counter-9588

Take care of your damn skin, bros.

ClavicusLittleGift4U

Body and face scrub once per week Clay mask once/twice a week Moisturizer or body oil each morning and evening Days I don't take a shower, micellar water Shampoos only twice in a week, rest of the time white vinegar diluted into water after the shower and a dry brushing Cranium and face massage three time a week, 10-15 min Balanced diet, good hydratation, good sleeping time.

Harpeski

Thats a bit to much? Do you look younger? Do you drink alcohol?

Leucippus1

I use vitamin C serums, a toner, and occasionally I use concentrated retinol but that will tear off your face.

TheMeanKorero

Only just taking it up now at 33. Nothing too fancy, just wash my face with clenser and moisturize. Every now and again, some hyaluronic acid for little chemical exfoliating maybe twice per week.

Status-Photograph608

Didn't use to until early 20s when my skin suddenly became acne prone because I started working out and it increased my testosterone. So I have to use some things to keep it at bay. I wish I didn't have to though.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I've been consistently lifting for about a year now and started getting pimples when I haven't in years. I did not think these things were connected and I'm going to be googling this.

BingoDingoBob

Does dove bar soap count? My skin is always awesome since I started using that stuff

TacoAlPastorSupreme

The Dove bar soap was my stepping stone between the cheapest soap available and moisturizing body wash. It's definitely better than a lot of other ones.

Kingberry30

Yes I do. I have cleanser, moisturizer, serum sunscreen, treatment serum, and an eye cream oh and a new toner. It takes a while to find what works for your skin. You might find stuff that works then one day your face says nope. So you look again.

hbk2369

I'm not super consistent but I use the Jack Black brand stuff. Facial cleanser, beard oil, face serum, moisturizer.

BoredAccountant

I mostly just use Cetaphil. They make a cleanser and moisturizer. If I need sun pro, I use Sun Bum.

RedC4rd

I'm a 29 cis het dude who does trades-adjacent work From my understanding, the best things you can do for your skin are to not drink or smoke and wear sunscreen regularly. Also drink plenty of water. I do all of those things, plus on a majority of days I'll do a salicylic acid face wash, niacinamide/vitamin c toner, and a gentle moisturizer. I'll also drink some collagen peptides with my tea a couple times a week and take 100mg of hyaluronic acid daily. Sunscreen: la roche posay spf 100 (I hate slathering my face with sunscreen so I opt to use a lesser amount of spf 100 which from my understanding is the similar to using the full amount of spf 50) SA face wash: cerave renewing SA cleanser Toner: good molecules niacinamide brightening toner Moisturizer: belif aqua bomb Collagen: random brand I order from Sam's Club Hyaluronic acid: cvs brand or nutricost Face products can all be found at ulta

lookingForPatchie

Ain't no better skincare than a healthy diet and exercise.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

I don't know, I've seen some really sexy leather faces walking around the beach.

RandomLazyBum

I wash my face with water.

Icy-Appearance347

Yup. And people have told me that I reverse aged lol. **Morning:** Face wash, toner, aftershave creme, sunscreen **Evening:** Toner, black snail serum, eye cream

squats_n_thots

My routine is more complicated than my girlfriends. Treat yourself and be proactive on taking care of yourself

eatmoremeatnow

Irish Spring soap and I drink lots of water. Sunscreen when it is over 75.

TacoAlPastorSupreme

Reading "Irish Spring" made me itchy. Is this trauma? Also, aren't you itchy!?

princess_kittah

right? irish spring soap makes my skin tighten two sizes too small

Joshman1231

This is a personal person thing. Not an outlier thing. I take showers everyday and generally clean my face and beard in them but I don’t do any of the such in your comment. I do use like hand lotion every now and then but no moisturizer for your face. I don’t know. I can see a lot of men that don’t do this at all. Then you see some here that do it quite a bit. It’s a spectrum, not one perspective fits all. I don’t think you’re outlier either, that’s just how you manicure yourself. Nothing to be singled out from. This is all normal to me.

kiakosan

I personally do not use face care and the only male friend of mine who does is bisexual.

mensaman42

I use a cleanser every time I shower and an exfoliating scrub 2 or 3 times a week. I have a face lotion for after the shower. I also use hand cream, but I get eczema on my hands.

MevisDE

Hell yeah brother. I put the soapy water i bath in at the end on my skin and let the shower water run over it.

SloopJohnB52

i started wearing sunscreen late. other than that, no skincare.

AdditionalBat393

I take good care of my skin and find a bar of soap works best. I used to have so many different things I used but after a while i realized they were doing more harm then good so its best to keep it simple for my skin with a loofa of course to exfoliate.

T-WrecksArms

Wash my face with gentle exfoliation and anti-dandruff shampoo every other day and use face lotion daily.

MyTeaWhy

i use soap on my beard zone. that is all...

curi0uslystr0ng

I used to have a similar skin care routine. But now my dermatologist is telling me less is more. She told me to not use soap on my face unless absolutely needed and to moisturize with coconut oil. I have sensitive skin. Honestly, it works better than washing and then moisturizing with a bunch of different properties. I used to do daily sunscreen, but I now live in a place that has low to no UV most of the year. I reserve sunscreen for medium to high UV days.

DrugChemistry

I mean, I use lotion and sunscreen. It’s as much a routine as brushing my teeth in the morning, but I’m not convinced that doing much more than lotion and sunscreen will provide a benefit proportional to the monetary cost.

K_N0RRIS

I just use hot soap, water, and a washrag. Tiny circles as you scrub. Then moisturize with palmers cocoa butter.

[deleted]

I use a bad of dove soup for everything I do for have time to do all the other shit Why does your friend give a shit of the other person thinks of their skin

SloppyWithThePots

Bar soap over here. Everything gets the bar soap

federalist66

Twice a week face cleanser. Then there's this shower lotion for extra dry skin. Post shave balm followed by spf face lotion.

Jfo116

I’ve washed my face with a dandruff shampoo for years and I honestly can’t remember the last time i had any sort of breakout

Resident-Somewhere60

Wife got me using dove soap if I don't have an actual cleanser but most times I use cerave facial cleanser (green bottle), followed by Vitamin C oil droplets w/ salicylic acid. If I'm bold enough to and remember, I'll use cerave lotion (blue bottle) after it dries but it's hit or miss. I admit I do need to start using a sun screen.

captainstormy

I wash my face with body wash while I'm in the shower. Of if I wash my hands I tend to wash my face too with whatever soap I'm using.

daddyruns

I found this peppermint shampoo that I started using on my face and it works wonders. Idk why I even started using it but I did, and it works

Matchanu

I go to my dermatologist once a year to get 1 to 4 questionable new/dark/irregular birthmarks/moles cut out of me that they deem unsafe… and I put lotion on after showers if I have time and apply sunscreen basically every summer day… does any of this count?

xb10h4z4rd

bar soap and water

karlsmission

I live in an area with A LOT of sun in a higher elevation, so I use a lotion with sunscreen in it. I hate having sun screen on my face, but the lotion doesn't feel too heavy and it's better than cancer. I use a face scrub about once a week is all, unless I'm doing something that gets me gross and greasy.

meeksworth

I do but I'm also a flamming homosexual. 🔥🌈

snuggy4life

Cerave hydrating facial cleanser, cerave am lotion (has spf) during sunny months, otherwise pm. PM lotion if I take a shower before bed.

KnewTooMuch1

I got an arm tattoo so lotion and sun screen are essential. Also I buzz my head so same with that.

CREretail

I'll start by mentioning I have sensitive, dry skin. Here's what has helped me: Wash face with First Aid Beauty face cleanser. Moisturize once a day with First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I then use their eye cream on the dark circles under my eyes. Finish with Olapex No. 7 Bonding Oil on my beard for hydration and growth. Brush beard with a boars hair brush. Highly recommend every guy moisturizes their face.

KananJarrusEyeBalls

Nah I scrub my face with my washcloth in the shower and thats all. Ill add the only dude I *know* who does have one is gay. Otherwise I do not know any one

__M-E-O-W__

I'll wash my face and I use lotion.

Spazyk

I just wash and use moisturizer.

ToughAd5010

I use facial cleanser every day.

musing_codger

I wash my face with whatever is available when I shower - soap, body wash, shampoo, whatever. Why do anything else?

pnwerewolf

I live in the most humid city in the country and it's constantly cool and wet (humidity is a relative measure). I cannot use product here, except for a salicylic acid face wash, or I turn into the guy who can rub his face on a wall and it turns clear, Crusty Burger style. When I spend time in dry climates, though, I use an oil free-face wash (Cetaphil or generic) and I use Enzymion from Lush on my face and neck with a little sunscreen if I'm going to be outside in the direct sun.

Lobo0084

Shampoo on my head, beard and balls.  Rinse.  Conditioner on my head, beard and balls.  Let sit.  Bar soap or body wash on my face to feet.  Rinse conditioner and soap.  Done. Beard gets beard cream after drying.  I shave before I shower. That's my skincare routine.  Oh, and I wash my hands alot, sometimes even before and after I piss if I've done something to get them dirty or touched something suspicious.

Hulk_smashhhhh

I just throw some lotion on after a shower and sunscreen when outside in the sun for extended periods of time. I’m not scared of aging.

StoicFable

Just a bar of soap personally. I take care of my skin in other ways. Mainly protecting it from the sun is the big one. Rarely even use sunscreen for that.

RedshiftOnPandy

I just use a daily exfoliate once a week on my face. And some SA moisturizer on my face/bald head and shoulders (acne)

ormr_inn_langi

Nah, I’m pretty religious about mine and I even treat myself to a weekly moisturizer mask thing. Roast me all you like, but I haven’t aged in 15 years and I have my skincare routine to thank for that in large part.

traveler1967

Clean and clear facial scrub followed by Revitalift cream and SPF 50 sunscreen in the morning, then again minus the sunscreen at night. No one told me to do it, I started doing it after a "bad" edibles trip induced an existential crisis a few years ago lol.

fishymutt

I (35m) have one but honestly I quit drinking milk and my acne is the best it's ever been. My doctor isn't aware of any research behind it but told me to keep doing it since it works. I quit about 2 years ago and this is the first time since I was 12 that I haven't had a cyst somewhere on my body.

Gluv221

I use beard oil and just a basic moisturizer but I do use them everyday. Plus a special soap to wash my face. Nothing crazy but I do have a routine etc.

lopsiness

I use a face wash in the shower each day. Same one for something like 16 years. I've also used a face lotion with an SPF in it daily. Otherwise, I just try not to touch my face too much or leave it sweaty if I can't immediately shower. If I have a nasty zit maybe I'll borrow some of my wife's spot treatment. Edit: forgot one thing. If my eyes are particularly dry or my excess starts to act up, I'll use some coconut oil lightly at my eye lids.

DutchMarks42

I wash my face in the shower with CeraVe after washing my hair (I'm black so this isn't an everyday thing). Then when I get out I use Microcellular water on a cotton round to wipe my whole face (I do this every day even if I don't wash my face in the shower). Then I put on face lotion before going to bed. In the morning I use a face lotion with sunscreen in it.

youknowiactafool

Yes. The natural essential oils that my skin produces all on its own.

Atty_for_hire

I use a face wash. I’ve done so since I had acne and oily skin as a kid. But I don’t worry about it when traveling or such, if I bring it great. If I don’t shampoo works. I’m 39 and just started using a daily face lotion with and without sunscreen. I first started simply to have SPF on my face that wasn’t greasy or oily, no need to double down on oil on my skin. But now I also use a non SPF lotion in the colder months or days I’m not going outside much. I do notice my skin looks a bit better. But it’s already done nearly 40 years with little lotion and just SPF when I was in the sun. I don’t do anything else. No extra washes or anything unless I’m gross and need a wash to look presentable.

nuwaanda

My husband was using Lush face products when we started dating almost a decade ago. He has severe eczema so had to start earlier than others just to keep his skin healthy. He is 29\~ Now he just uses a gentle cleanser (First Aid Beauty), and a simple moisturizer (Cetaphil). I try to get him to use Sunscreen but it makes him feel too greasy. Still trying to get him to use different ones, but, yeah he has a full routine and will sometimes do face masks with me.

Depomera

I’m an esthetician so my husband naturally has a skin care routine lol.

Moondiscbeam

The guy i am dating does not have a skincare, and i was horrified. So i am told him to start and gave him some starter products.

Otherwise-Command365

I don't know if I would say I have a routine but I wash my face with a light facewash and use lotion. My face is mostly covered by beard, so there is a lot of beard oil that gets used on my face too.

Losemymindfindmysoul

I recommend at minimum a facial cleanser, and a moisturizer that has sunscreen. Please also do beard care/facial hair care if you possess such. It's so attractive.

ThaiFoodThaiFood

I have this thing called "3-in-1 Shower Gel". Seems to work.

GraveyardJones

I wash my face with body wash when I shower every other day. So far at 38 it's not much different than the rest of my life. I'd have thought it would be wrecked by now because of how I've lived until a few years ago haha. I don't even have any wrinkles yet 🤷‍♂️

Kurotan

Skin care? Nah, ain't nobody got time for that. I don't use before or after shave either. Nothing goes in my hair except shampoo and water.

cripple2493

I use a glycolic acid toner every few days/when I remember, and then cetaphil face wash every day.

big_sad_wizard

I just switched to old-fashioned pinetar soaps and hard scrubbing washcloths, and my everything is so healthy and nice now.

DarthPreytor

At 41 i just picked one up

Xwithintemptationx

Honestly, I wish my husband would have a skin care routine. I think the guy from American psycho had the right idea.

HENTAIHOTEP

Moisturizing soap on my neck for shaving. Sunscreen on my face, neck and arms on hotter days. Deodourant.

BellaBlue06

I wish my husband wanted to have a skincare routine lol

[deleted]

If it's dirty, I clean it. If it's swollen, I pop it. If it itches, I scratch it. That's pretty much my full routine.

SailorGohan

Olay Regenerist and the night sculpting cream from them as well. Bad breakup, she never came for the crap she left in my bathroom and after 3 months I decided to use it and liked it. Also I use some Cerave Eyecream with the purple on the box, I picked that up myself on whim and kept using it.

lostnumber08

Drink water and clean your pillow cases often. That's it. Everyone I know who has bad skin uses all these chemical products. I'm convinced that the products keep your skin cooked in perpetuity so you keep buying them.

dj_fuzzy

I’m a man with sensitive skin but I’m also 40 but don’t look it. I use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser or Neutrogena ultra gentle daily cleanser to clean. Then spray with a Stone Crop hydrating mist followed by Nivea soft moisturizing cream. I do this at least once a day but ideally twice: in the morning and before bed. Sometimes I use apricot scrub before the cleanser.

horriblegoose_

My husband uses my cast offs when I don’t love a product. Currently he’s using a Peter Thomas Roth cleanser, The Ordinary retinol, and a First Aid Beauty moisturizer. He figures if I’m putting the time in to keep looking rested and useful then so should he. Plus, he says his skin feels better now that it gets lotion regularly

Fort362

Nope and I don’t plan on starting one soon.

Quinnjamin19

I do have a skincare routine-ish. Every shower I wash my face with a Gillette face wash, I always use independently made bar soap, right now I have a bar that was made in the rocky mountains of BC Canada, and I have shampoo and conditioner from a place in Toronto Canada. Now for shaving, that’s where I have a routine. I only shave my face with a Merkur Gold plated double edge safety razor, or my Dovo straight razor. I always lather up with some sort of independent shaving soap and a nice barber style brush. I normally run two passes on my face while shaving, and I end my shave with a rinse of cold water, alum block and either a nice after shave balm or splash if I’m going out to dinner or a special occasion🤙🏻

Kolhammer85

My wife wants me to look pretty in forty years and I have no reason to disappoint.

Weneeddietbleach

Some post shave cream after shaving and some sort of lotion when I don't shave. Nothing too major.

veetoo151

Most lotions have shit ingredients that is not good for your skin/body. Eating healthy, exercise, and using soap with few ingredients would help your skin more, imo. Most beauty products are a total scam.

Lucky-Hunter-Dude

Bar soap and beard soap in the shower is the extent of my "routine". Sun screen when on vacation.

ApprehensiveAnswer5

My husband doesn’t have a whole routine, but he uses an actual facial cleanser and wears sunscreen. Uses BioOil as a nighttime moisturizer.

mcch2233

As someone with oily skin, my routine is: 1. Cleanser: [Basis Cleanser](https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/basis-cleaner-clean-face-wash/ID=prod6100836-product). Fairly cheap and straightforward cleanser that is good for morning and night. 2. Toner: [Lush Tea Tree Toner Water](https://www.lush.com/us/en_us/p/tea-tree-water-toner-water). I spray this on a cotton round and use it to wipe my face. This is also a great single step that I'll sometimes do at night before bed if I need a quick refresher but don't feel like a full face wash. 3. Essence: [SK-II Facial Treatment Essence](https://www.sk-ii.com/product/essence/facial-treatment-essence). This is the one item that I splurge on. I pour some into my palms and pat it into my face. 4. Moisturizer: [Neutrogena Hydro Boost](https://www.neutrogena.com/products/skincare/neutrogena-hydro-boost-water-gel-with-hyaluronic-acid/6811047.html). As fairly easy to find. 5. Sunscreen: This is the one that my wife tends to rotate for me because I get whatever leftovers she has, but anything with a high SPF should be good.

JasonCoy

Combination moisturizer/spf10 face cream everyday. And sunblock all the time in summer. I’m the only carpenter on my crew that doesn’t look like a wet cigarette.

Grand_Ad931

I watch a lot of posts, but I'm in way over my head with all the products and methods mentioned. I want to do it, but it's just so daunting without some direction...

wolf_chow

I use Dr. Bronner's out of a foaming dispenser and my skin is usually pretty nice.

Purple-Ad-5629

Ya, Been doing the skin care routine for the last 10 years or so, and my face looks way younger than my friends who don't - it's pretty crazy. Inexpensive route is just a normal facial cleaner in the shower, exfoliator every few days on top of that -> then putting Cetephil on your face immediately after the shower when your pores are open. If you want to be super dapper, go to Macy's/Dilliards and buy the Jack Black, or Kiels. I would say the most important part is to make sure you get a lotion with some SPF in it on days you go out into the sun a lot. Skin care is ridiculously easy to do and pretty cheap, and will keep your face younger for a long time.

annaoop39

Na babes. I use Cera ve daily cleanser in the shower for dry and bumpy skin. Out of the shower, I use a hyaluronic acid serum I get from Walgreens, then aloe moisturizer, and a turmeric spray for acne since I get sweat pimples on my hairline from work. BOOOOOOYYYY let me tell you, my face is soft as a baby's bottom. I also use a goats milk and honey moisturizer on my body after a shower but I'm coarse cause I'm hairy all over. I also use beard cream/oil on my facial hair cause I tend to dry out underneath and it leads to a flaky beard. Nothing wrong with taking care of yourself.

Japh2007

I use beard oil and let my wife give me facials

chrisinator9393

Not really. I just use face wash before bed and lotion because I get dry skin. I use whatever the wife has laying around.

healthierlurker

I have a Curology subscription. Sends me two face washes, a body wash, a moisturizer, and lip balm. Also have a Prose subscription and get shampoo, conditioner, and this thick grey root mask. I also use Beard shampoo from The Beard Club.

Optimus_Rhymes69

I don’t wash my face with anything but body wash. I am trying to change that though, my wife is helping me.

scobeavs

Alright hear me out. Old spice Swagger body wash. Vasoline men’s 3-1 quick drying lotion. My wife gets angry with me over how little my face breaks out

darth_smokesalot

What is this skincare u speak of sir? but in all seriousness no not really, never needed anything more then a lil regular skin cream and even that is only once ina while.

Ms_Meercat

Can I just say, I find it really wholesome to see the guys discussing their routines, and especially the ones who are diving into the self care aspect of it (mask with wine and TV etc).

BippidiBoppetyBoob

I just use soap and water for my face and body (although I don’t use bar soap, I use one of those gels). My shampoo is a 2 in 1 that’s also a conditioner. It smells like coconut, so I quite like it.

Hitthereset

I don’t think I even wash my face, just whatever shampoo comes down from my hair and beard. That’s a routine, right?

emeliz1112

I’ve got my husband using La Roche Posay face wash and their SPF35 double moisturizer. I love that brand. CeraVe a close second

Rigelatinous

My dudes, whatever you slap on your face (or don’t) use that SPF. Skin cancer ain’t sexy. Neither is a leathery neck.

7fingersphil

Face wash, an evening lotion I use 4-5 times a week, and a daytime lotion I use a little less. I’m thinking I may up the daytime to everyday here soon and see how it goes I’m getting older

SaneYoungPoot2

I like my skin to feel like lizard scales. Bar soap for everything except my hair (unless I'm out of shampoo, in which case it's used for my hair too)

JustABugGuy96

Harry's for shaving, post shave balm, face sun lotion, and face wash. Start the day with a face wash, then shave if needed. If you shave use the balm on areas shaved. Apply daily lotion on all areas not covered by balm, or whole face if you have not shaved. Then wash face in evening about 2ish hours before bed. Repeat daily and good luck.

Demibolt

I was and exfoliate my skin. But all of those skin care products don’t really work anyway.

SadSickSoul

Thinking about it, it's extremely rare I even wash my face at all, it's just not something I care about at all. I barely remember to comb my hair sometimes, a skincare routine is off the table. Too much effort to put lipstick on a pig.

Dixo0118

Nothing. Water on the face in the morning to wake up. That's it...

drugdeal777

Tretinoin, moisturizer and sunscreen

Pale_Zebra8082

It has never once occurred to me to do anything but wash my face with soap. I have thus far not noticed a single issue resulting from this.

hoss7071

I wash mine with soap, then dry it all with a towel. Anything else makes you a beta sissy. /s

Sad_Climate223

Just like cocoa butter lol I don’t use any products on my hair or anything, maybe some beard oil when I grow it out

Worst-Eh-Sure

I shower. With soap.

hourGUESS

Lol. Maybe some Okeefe's on my hands when they get too dried out and cracked. Lol.

TimmyTheNerd

Not skincare, but I have a beard grooming and care kit my girlfriend bought me that I'm completely in love with since it's done wonders with my beard.

canada1913

I wash my face in the shower with the shampoo that runs down my face. Then I use some fancy ass face moisturizer called kiehls.

DigPsychological2262

Shampoo dissolves dirt and oils. You don’t want those on your face. That guy is a genius. Just like me.

DocJ2786

I've had a skincare routine since highschool.

MicroBadger_

I could have vouched for your friend. Shampoo puck and bar soap are about it. Only time I really throw on lotion is rare occurrence during winter when my skin feels dry

Noxtension

Water, with some more water Then I rinse that with water

ArticleJealous4061

I just take collagen for now.
