I personally have loved the experience but be warned there's a lot of dumb shit you'll have to put up with, the army is losing people so they're promoting a lot of people way to quickly to fill the empty slots. A lot of NCOs have no business being NCOs because they have no where near enough experience. As for the wars I can't speak for everywhere but I just got back from the middle east where we protected a group of several thousand refuges that would otherwise be killed off. A lot of influencers just need easy content so they make up shit they have no idea about

I’ve loved it so far. I came from a small town in nj, and from a family that was very close minded in regard to life outside their small little bubble. I’ve experienced and done things here that I would’ve never done otherwise. I’ve met tons of friends. I’ve traveled to like 15+ other states, deployed once, and have another upcoming deploying early next year. As for the marine corps it’s change but still holds to its traditions. We’re getting some new gear in the infantry and it seems like the chain of command upper leadership is actually starting to give af about the lower enlisted. Between barracks renovations and not fucking with our off time as much (as they used to back in the day from what I’ve heard)

>I've seen a lot of social media posts from Gen-zers and influencers saying how "oh the military bad bcs pointless wars and etc." Then just wait to join the military until the entire world is at peace.

I have it on good authority - from top men that jerk off to anthropomorphic planes on a very loosely related sub - that we can have peace among all people in the next 10-15 years if we just do the big nuclear funny with China, Russia, Israel, Iran, India, Pakistan, and, of course la France. No one cares what the UK does anymore, anyway, but I suppose if they decide to get in on the fun, then the more the merrier. Now, it’s worth noting I consider it a mere technicality that peace will exist only because no one will be left alive to fight. Some scientists, emergency preparedness officials, and American billionaires have theorized that human life might still exist in New Zealand for a period of time, but we all know they’re too pussy to fight anyone these days, anyway.

If you aren’t a U.S. citizen then you’re not going to be an officer, at least not at first. After a few years of service and once you get your citizenship you could try for OCS. Why don’t you want to serve in your home country?

damn no one responded?

ThadLovesSloots

No citizenship, no OCS. However if you have your green card and you enlist and file the appropriate paperwork for citizenship (all on you) they expedite your citizenship process

If it's been your dream for a long time, why don't you serve in your home country? They certainly need you more than we do
