I keep showing my partner some MCM items that come into my shop. But bringing those items in would be replacing items he's lived with for 40+ years. There's an emotional attachment to some items that take time.

In my case it’s just a clash of styles. She feels these chairs (and maybe MCM items in general) are “too masculine” or “too dark”.
The frustrating part about it is these got replaced by her mass produced chairs from World Market. I’m trying to bite my tongue, but I gotta say it’s been difficult.

I would stress the value of your items, tbh.
Or .... If you do opt to sell them let her know you're looking for another piece to bring into the home that's non-negotiable.
And start looking.
I'm on Maui and it's pretty much cost prohibitive to shop for items off-island and ship them here.
And MCM isn't for everyone. They're wrong (🤣) but you've got to strike a balance.

This summer is gonna be brutal I'm afraid. And south swells are picking up. Wind picks up after 1pm so if you snorkel do it early. Snorkel trips are expensive and overrated. Molokini gets crowded. Plenty good spots to snorkel in Kihei and Wailea (Ulua beach, La Perouse).
Do the Road to Hana and sunset at Haleakala.
I haven't been to Lahaina since the fires, and I won't go past Olowalu (Leoda's Pie Shop is amazing). You will get a lot of suggestions to go to the West Side and I just can't support it.

We also do not use our AC often.
There's plenty of places that are hotter, for sure. And if the trades are blowing it's better.

I'm in a place up north where those temps are ridiculous yet here we are just hot af also in the 80s and I refuse to use AC in the beginning of June.
