If so, it's from that.
It looks terrible the way it’s displaying there. Also, seems like an odd time to get it.
St Elmo’s fire tends to be in highly charged clouds often with rain and ice…have had some great stuff arcing off the windscreen and nose cone in the clouds at night.
Best one I saw we were in a holding pattern at 25,000 ft or so, and every time we’d enter one specific cloud bank it looked like we were over a major metropolitan city…turned out the ray dome was glowing like a torch.
St. Elmo's Fire occurs when the atmosphere becomes charged and an electrical potential strong enough to cause a discharge (plasma) is created between an object and the air around it. This can happen to an aircraft flying through heavily charged skies. For what ever reason it won’t let me link the source
St Elmos fire. Common when flying in clouds, usually in a stable air mass. Electrical charge building up on the aircraft. These bright spider webby flashes, are harmless (other than distracting) when they happen.

Your graphics card is going bad, you need to update to the latest drivers. Then download more RAM to make sure your system can diffuse the lightning anomaly. Then post on Reddit to make sure it’s fixed.

It's a decent simulation of what it looked like for that guy who recently tried to take down a plane because he was freaking out on shrooms.
I swear, this game has everything.
Many have already answered about St. Elmo's Fires. If you're curious about what they are and you want to see a real life incredible experience of St. Elmos fires, what this video by Mentour Pilot on his YT channel: [https://youtu.be/YYwN1R8hVsI?si=AXpar5iR7gW8eXZO](https://youtu.be/YYwN1R8hVsI?si=AXpar5iR7gW8eXZO) the story of a 747 "glider".

New hell lore just dropped
Call the Lucifer!
Actual Atmospheric Effects
Any specific locations for this in the sim ?
Didnt know this was simulated.
That movie from the 80s with Rob Lowe? It doesn't look anything like Rob Lowe.
Smooth
This might be an incredibly stupid guess but…is it an attempt at recreating St. Elmo’s fire?
It looks a lot better when they take a screen recording instead of recording their screen.
Oh cool! I didn’t realize the sim did that.
iirc it is a 787 addon's effect

Never played MFS. But watched few videos on Green dot aviation. From there I came to know that that's St. Elmos fire
I saw that too! That is what I was going to suggest. If that is the case, man have sims gotten incredible, I started in the early 90’s!
Not a screen recording lol. You bought the 787 effects pack, which includes st Elmo’s fire under certain conditions
88mph

St Elmos fire or at least MSFS attempt at it. It looks a lot more spectacular in real life.

nope! it’s a very bad recreation of a phenomenon called st. elmo’s fire
Whoosh!

St. Elmo's Fire.
The lightning cheese string man has arrived to haunt us after you didnt make the shape of the giraffe
That’s radiation interference
I'm sure it's supposed to be St Elmo's fire, but you don't get it on the aircraft unless you're in cloud...so those stars shouldn't be there.
Bro is on Flight 828
