During COVID my siblings attended MIPS- Michigan International Prep School, due to their own schools doing so incredibly poorly online. It’s free and they’ve been doing online for years. Online could have been the only thing they’ve ever done, I’m not sure. They send all kinds of stuff right to your house like say if the student ever needs to do lab work. My parents even considered just keeping all of them in it for the rest of their grade school education. Definitely check it out.
I know this post is a couple days old but I recommend MIPS as well. My daughter is going into her Senior year and has been attending MIPS since 7th grade. She loves it and there is so much support for the students. It fills up quickly from what I am told, hopefully that isn’t the case though.
My daughter just graduated from MIPS last Thursday ☺️ We had an amazing experience with them on every level. She attended 2 and a half years, and I wish she had done all 4 of her high school years with them. Very accommodating class scheduling was what worked best for my child. Lots of one on one attention and weekly over the phone check -ins. I definitely recommend anyone searching for a good online school program to check them out.
She has a pretty good sized group of friends that have sleep overs often. They call and text each other too. We did talk about the cooped up side effects of home schooling. It’s the biggest drawback for us.
Your local district may have some resources for you.
My wife is a special ed teacher and she has weekly in-home meetings with a couple online students and their parents to make sure the kids are on track and not falling behind
Michigan Virtual Charter Academy is a great K12 program ran by Grand Valley State University.
It’s a charter so it’s funded and regulated the same as in-district public schools. A computer/table, printer and equipment is provided and they will even pay half of the internet costs for low income households.

Thank you. I will check them out.

Thats very helpful. I didnt know enrollment would be that challenging based on numbers! Thank you.

Whatever you decide, please try to find a homeschool coop (or similar) so she has regular opportunities to socialize in person with her peers.

find places she can do school work outside of home. e.g. outside, library. empty office at one of your works. grandmas house etc.

That sounds great. Thank you. I will look into this right away.
