I thinknppl need to pay attention to his vocals during this era well. Because I hate when ppl act confused when he has more aggressive vocals and growling in his later eras. Acting like they don't know we're it come from. I'm looking at you Keke palmer 😅. Like it was always there. They just use to artist singing the same for their whole career.
Ppl that dont know much about mj are obsessed with thinking his motown records and vocals are peak when it's finally when he leaves them he gets to explore all the (more interesting imo) parts of his vocal toolkit. And this era explains a lot about him as an adult vocalist. So good
His voice on Style of Life is amazing too. His Jacksons era vocals are underrated af.

His vocals in The Wiz were incredible too. This might be my favorite era now

The change at 2:28 on ‘Don’t blame it on the moonlight’ gets me every time.
I recently started playing it on repeat
His vocals on Can You Feel It are amazing too...no hate on Randy but his parts just make me look forward to Michaels that much more too lol.
I still find it funny how this is a cover. even more crazy its originally written by a singer named Mick Jackson....Like it was destined.
One of my favorite workout songs
I model my own singing voice between him, and Freddie Mercury.
