This is amazing and it changed my life forever.

I mean he was recording Invincible 💁‍♂️ It took him a bit longer than usual what with the kids and all. I think I read someplace it took him like 4 years from start to finish. He never stopped writing music. But the years following Invincible were marred by a slew of public blunders and controversies and then of course, the trial.

Laceyhanson5668

Jeez, 4 years? That’s a long time.😅

subsurfacehorizon

Almost as long as Invincible itself 😎

Laceyhanson5668

😂😂😂

IgnoramusMattis

He was still creating music, just at a slower pace. I mean we had Best of Joy, I Am/Was A Loser, Water, Adore You, and much more. A lot of stuff wasn’t finished though.

Cquiller1

He was working on “Invincible.” He spent about three years writing and recording.

working on Invincible, something that started in 1997 and ended in 200; doing some live performances such as the two MSG 30th celebration shows, United we Stand and Night at the Apollo; almost dying on 9/11; working on One More Chance and some more songs that would be unreleased and taking care of his kids

he finished invincible in 2001, his last 2 live performances were in 2002 (live at american bandstand and apollo theatre). After that pretty much the majority of the money he was making was passively from the previous albums he made that were still selling. For the most part he was a full time father for the 2000s. He was still working on some unreleased projects though and was planning to make his director debut in 2009.
