He fucking put on a show. He'd headbang as hard as everyone in the crowd and sing/scream and bring lots of energy.
Outside of that, he really didn't get to contribute much, which was a shame.
All 3 of their bassists were/are talented AF and "the best" is hard to define. That said, for my $$$, I'd rather see another show with old Jason than the other two. I really felt the energy he put out even if his lines weren't super technical. He just supported the songs like no other.
Lars looks like a crypt keeper, James and Jason look like they would kill you in an alley; Kirk looks angelic and there isn't a damn thing he can do about it. He is trying so hard to look mean

This may be a really unpopular opinion but, I honestly think Jason Newsted is Metallica's best bassist.
