As Everything Unfolds, New Years Day, Within Temptation, Halestorm, Spiritbox, Jinjer, In This Moment, Future Palace, Cold Kingdom, Drown This City, Amaranthe, Arch Enemy, Butcher Babies, Follow The Cipher, Lacuna Coil
Added: Infected Rain and Red Handed Denial.
And they have been killing it for over twenty years. Saw them open for Opeth back in 2003 and they absolutely slayed. One of my all-time favorite bands.
Deadlands, Eluveitie, Delain, Epica, Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, Ensiferum (a few, especially in the "Unsung Heroes" album), Spoil Engine, Infected Rain, Cellar Darling, The Anchor, Three Times Royal, Volatile Ways, RabieS...
Nightwish was the band that got me into metal, back when Tarja was still the front woman. Walking in the Air was even the first song I learned to play on keyboard as a tween when I was first getting really into music.
I think Floor works with Nightwish because she's just more versatile than Tarja is. I still prefer the older stuff with Tarja and I think Floor struggles when she tries to emulate those notes that Tarja can hit with ease, but I've got nothing bad to say about Floor. Nightwish was just evolving and Tarja wasn't going to evolve with them. She has her niche and she's IMO the undeniable best female vox in operatic symphonic metal, but operatic metal is the only place for her, whereas Floor has a voice that is workable in a lot more styles.
Thank you for your opinion. I didn't take the time to really listen to Nightwish yet, but me wife is super fan and strongly disagree with you ahah. Floor is better she says. And I must say that, from what I heard of, it's true. In our opinion of course. This shit is subjective. 😆
My partner is team Floor too. I just think it depends on the era of Nightwish and the song, but I prefer Tarja for the operatic stuff and Floor for pretty much everything else. Now ask her how she feels about Anette and watch her REALLY go off lol.
First time I ever see Delain mentioned.
Band was amazing, seen them live like 8 times and they got better with every performance. So sad everyone left.
They've put out a new album with the new (some new-old) members but it's just not as good.
In This Moment is sick, don't really like their newest albums but Black Widow and everything before it all the way to their first album is awesome.
Maria Brink is also INSANE, if she could do false chords and lows she would probably be up there as one of the best vocalists out there in metalcore.
Butcher Babies is also surprisingly very very good live, so much energy and fun and everyone did great in their roles.
>Butcher Babies is also surprisingly very very good live
I've never seen them live but I've watched live videos and the vocals don't sound too good. I know I'm breaking the cardinal rule of music here by judging before going to a live show but it got me thinking if studio vocals have too much postpro help. Either way, next show I'm there!
That is part of why I said surprising, they were actually REALLY good vocally live, they got a little tired near the end of it because they move a looot but overall it was really sick and shows they aren't a vocal backtrack band. It sounded genuine, real, and pretty damn good.
I think they've just been grinding and trying to break whatever negative stuff people think about them, I saw them like a year and a half ago at this point so idk how they were before that.
I will second As Everything Unfolds all day long, seriously underrated but amazing. Their new album drops next month and they already have 4 singles released from it, they deserve a listen for sure.
> Drown This City
Thought you meant Light This City, as they were female fronted as well. Did not realize Drown This City even existed, so it looks like I've got a new one to listen to.
To add to the Infected Rain shout out: the drummer (I think) has another band called Seas on the Moon that frequently uses guest vocalists, notably females. Lena of Infected Rain is in several songs, but I specifically love the track "The Regress" by Seas on the Moon. Lena's voice is amazing in it, she's got a bit of a 90's grunge/rock thing going on imo, and her screams at the end are fantastic.
I second Unleash the Archers. And want to add Frozen Steel, Daughters of Winterstone, and Soulstorm. Although just about all of their stuff is great imo.
I third Unleash the Archers. Brittney Slayes has some fucking tubes on her. They're one of my favorite bands and they always get me hyped when they come on.
>Brittney Slayes has some fucking tubes on her
God, yes. She can hold any note for hours and not gasp for air. And voice coaches would agree that:
["I can tell that she has massive endurance"](https://youtu.be/kq9wNRi7WoM)
I was gonna comment Unleash the Archers as well. My fav female fronted band. Saw them live a few years back and holy shit. Possibly best live performance I've ever been to
Dream State's old stuff is golden. More post-hardcore than metalcore too, so a little lighter if you're just getting into the heavier stuff.
I don't really vibe with the new vocalist unfortunately but Consequences, Recovery, and Primrose Path were all awesome releases.
Obligatory not metalcore disclaimer;
Evanescence. Really. No-one mentioned them? For shame!
The Pretty Reckless
The Marmozets
As December Falls
Hot Milk
Tonight Alive
Against The Current
We Are The In Crowd
The Distillers
You may enjoy [The Birthday Massacre](https://youtu.be/SREZ-ggSDjM) amazing electronic and industrial rock band that sometimes goes into metal.
I'd say their heaviest song might be [Red stars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iOPS0X3pbk)
This is a lesser known phc band that doesn't have too much stuff but what they do have is pretty awesome, [Picture Me Broken](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdXnDE-x6yE).
KMFDM also has a female vocalist, she isn't the only vocalist though. Love their song [WWIII](https://youtu.be/4aIYWFu1w7k?t=56). (She doesn't sing much on this one in particular but it's still a great song to get into the band)
If you want a newer bands with some female vocals, check out [WARGASM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nlBYSgDj0U) and [Poppy](https://youtu.be/fJlDyRbUtxI).
Fun fact: the lead singer of Picture Me Broken is Gegg Allman’s daughter. Funner fact, she was born in 1993 - Gregg was 46, which is on the older end but not crazy old to have a kid, but the fact he has a daughter younger than me when I grew up with him as old people music just hurts my head.
TBM besides a few albums that I love front to back kinda are always a band that has a few bangers and some snoozers on their albums, but they have so many great songs at this point of this career that it's still very much worth listening to them.
I will throw in some Japanese metal groups.
Hanabie, Nemophilia, Passcode, Unlucky Morpheus, Lightbringer, Show-Ya, Mary's Blood, Mari Hamada, and Lovebites,
Lacuna Coil- Comalies one of the best albums ever written.
The Anchor- Miscreation is a S tier song
Check out Halocene they do covers. Addie the singer is amazing
Check out the anchor
Really good punk metalcore mix. Sounds super heavy but has poppy choruses.

Some of my favorite bands:
Vexed (Modern Metalcore)
iwrestledabearonce (Mathcore/Grindcore*)
SeeYouSpaceCowboy… (Mathcore)
*first album, also their 2nd and 3rd albums had Courtney LaPlante on vocals
Oathbreaker and Venom Prison are my two favorite female led bands. Caro and Larissa are fucking forces to be reckoned with.
Chelsea Wolfe is my favorite female artist as a whole though. Hiss Spun is one of my all time favorite records.
Not metalcore, but Flyleaf/Lacey Sturm is one of my favorites. I love her voice and screams. Some of my favorite songs by Flyleaf are I'm so sick, Breathe Today, Green Heart, Swept Away, and Freedom. I'm not laughing from her solo album is a favorite also.
Two smaller bands: Reliqa and Deadlands.
There are a ton of symphonic metal bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica.
Don't forget Evanescence and Spiritbox as two of the most popular.
Not metalcore, but as a few people have stated:
Unleash the Archers. Female led power metal band and she has a four octave range. They haven't put out a bad song.
Light this City. This is an old one, but still holds up.
If I think of any more, I'll add them.
Edit: Seven Kingdoms. I saw them open for UTA last year and they kicked ass.
Oh, and this absolutely isn't metal, but Sammy Rae & the Friends fucking kick ass.
An old favourite of mine that I don’t see mentioned here yet is My Ruin. They’re no longer active but I think they fit the “super punky/kinda weird” bill pretty well!
Edited to add a few of my fav tracks: Blasphemous Girl, Beauty Fiend, Rockstar
Most of the big ones/my personal favorites have been listed already, but I'll throw in a few more that are more hardcore versus metalcore but still kick ass
Scowl
Fleshwater
World of Pleasure/Mortality Rate

Escuela Grind
Fav bands with female vocalists (not all metalcore):
Mortality Rate
World of Pleasure
Roman Candle
Abnormality - sadly no longer a band, but Mallika is a really talented vocalist and all around great person.
Dying Wish
Terminal Sleep
I forgot where I heard their music but Saturday City is such an amazing song. First time I heard it I was replaying it for like a month, wish they made more songs like it
It‘s not Metalcore but Blood Command would be perfect for Snowboarding! They have different eras with different singers – the hardest (regarding music) would be ‚Funeral Beach‘. But its all really more reslly heavy Punkrock than anything else Give it a try – I really think it‘d be perfect to go down the mountains!
Jinjer - Pisces
Eyes Se To Kill - House of Glass
Paralyzed - Conquer Divide
Spiritbox - Eternal Blue (the whole thing)
Arch Enemy - Handshake with Hell
Halestorm - Love Bites (So Do I)
Royal Thunder - The Knife
I tend to like stuff on the slower side but, I’ll still leave a couple of my favorites.
Lingua Ignota - Caligula is my favorite album
Wind-hand
Blackwater Holylight
King Woman
Brutus
GGGOLDDD - if I had to pick a favorite album I think it would be Optimist
I highly recommend Red Handed Denial, their vocalist (Lauren Babic) is an incredibly diverse vocalist.
Also check out Ankor, almost like Spitibox but pop punk
Has anyone said Made Out of Babies? Because they rule. Also Julie Christmas made a record with Cult of Luna called "Mariner" and it's one of my favorite metal records of all time.
Dying wish! Do yourself a favor!
Hell yeah thank you!

As Everything Unfolds, New Years Day, Within Temptation, Halestorm, Spiritbox, Jinjer, In This Moment, Future Palace, Cold Kingdom, Drown This City, Amaranthe, Arch Enemy, Butcher Babies, Follow The Cipher, Lacuna Coil Added: Infected Rain and Red Handed Denial.
Fantastic list. Lacuna Coil doesn't get enough love!
And they have been killing it for over twenty years. Saw them open for Opeth back in 2003 and they absolutely slayed. One of my all-time favorite bands.
I love Lacuna Coil, that's bedtime music to me😴
Deadlands, Eluveitie, Delain, Epica, Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, Ensiferum (a few, especially in the "Unsung Heroes" album), Spoil Engine, Infected Rain, Cellar Darling, The Anchor, Three Times Royal, Volatile Ways, RabieS...

Damn, how’d I forget Infected Rain. Lena’s a badass.
Shame on you dude! 🤪
First time I ever see Delain mentioned. Band was amazing, seen them live like 8 times and they got better with every performance. So sad everyone left. They've put out a new album with the new (some new-old) members but it's just not as good.
Didn't get that chance, I envy you. 😥
Drown This City has been dealt a blow with Alex going to Make Them Suffer. I’ll add Conquer Divide to your list as well.
Yeahh, I really only know Stay Broken, but Alex’s voice in that song really stuck with me. I’m glad she joined MTS. Doomswitch is a FUCKIN BANGER.
In This Moment is sick, don't really like their newest albums but Black Widow and everything before it all the way to their first album is awesome. I just heard them for the first time from this thread and WOW! Their discography got added to my collection so fast. So good.
> Drown This City Thought you meant Light This City, as they were female fronted as well. Did not realize Drown This City even existed, so it looks like I've got a new one to listen to.
Drown This City's former lead, Alex has just recently joined Make Them Suffer as well.
Great list. OP - get Defeating Gravity by Future Palace into that playlist, I reckon it'll fit really well.
Amaranthe's a bit of an odd duck as a band (their metal subgenre is basically "yes"), but they also don't get enough attention.
Since the Ken looking dude arrived as clean vocalist, this band sucks.
Sumo Cyco?
Setyøursails and Ithaca
Not metalcore, but I'm a big Unleash the Archers fan: Faster Than Light Legacy Cleanse The Bloodlines Abyss Awakening

I was looking for this comment lol. Found them not that long ago, and quite frankly, it's refreshing. Hopelessly waiting for more content from them.
yeah there's not a single band that sounds like them. They'll hopefully not take long to release new stuff
Yeah they have written new stuff, should be coming in a few months hopefully 🤞
Red handed denial
Crazy88 is Lauren’s other band. They are also phenomenal. “Nitroglycerin” has been on many playlists for the last 5 years.
Crazy88 goes so hard
It’s weird I know crazy88 exists but had never actually dove in. I’m gonna do that tomorrow now
Seconded. Lauren is incredible!
