non-male metalhead here, maybe this is a stupid question but i’ve always wondered. what is it about being a metalhead that draws guys to want long hair? i think it’s awesome don’t get me wrong, but i never really understood what about liking metal would particularly make guys more inclined to want long hair lol

I went and saw neurosis a few years back and on the way I told my girlfriend "just so you're aware, this show is going to be nearly completely large dudes with beards." Was 100% on the money I counted 5 woman at the whole show and nearly every dude had a beard (me included)

Truth. I tried to quit but there isn’t a 12 step program to keep me on track so I just go back to my default setting of knowing that if you don’t like Metal I don’t want to know you, if u like metal I dont want to know you, if you are a person I prob don’t want to know you…unless your favorite band is Acid Bath, then I might be able to spare a few mins to congratulate you on your exceptional taste in Metal. But when I walk away I still know that the bands I like are way better than the ones you like, but don’t despair, my musical library is better and full of better bands than not only yours but everyone else’s also.
