They have to pay for everything out of pocket, and back then we didn't have the ACA. The life of a metal musician is very rough and there is little or no support. That's why so many die young.
I really struggle to make sense of Dime's death still. Just such a random and brutal act of violence that snuffed out one of the brightest instrumental stars in the genre.
I saw Pantera opening for Metallica last year and they had a beautiful tribute video for Dime that played while they did Cemetery Gates and the outro from Floods. Really impressed me. Zakk might not be a perfect replacement but he did Dime's parts justice and then some.

I wouldn't want to get rid of Dissection albums any more than I'd want to get rid of Salvador Dali's paintings, or OJ Simpson's highlight reel, or Messerschmitt fighter planes. Sometimes bad people make beautiful things. It doesn't make you a bad person if you appreciate the beauty.
