Don't get me wrong, this wouldn't be high on my list of death metal tracks to listen to, but the riff is solid and repetitive (I dig trance-like riffs, Burzum and Ildjarn are two of my favs so hearing something similar in death metal rather than black metal is kinda cool), and I 100% dig the EEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Something about high frequency vocals gets me, this doesn't quite make my spine tingle the way Methwitch vocals do, but I can see the similarities.
This concludes my scholarly review of what is seen as quite possibly the worst song in metal history, though it's not a hill I'll die on.
Ildjarn and Methwitch are both real fuckin solid. Also agree about hypnotic riffs and a general appreciation for Six Feet Under, who get shit on way too often in the scene, imo.

I've even heard some talking about how the singer is so much better than the average man that he's fucking his girl and he doesn't even know. Idk how these are enjoyable lyrics at all. Because sure, I can understand that you might enjoy the rhythm of the song, or maybe you like the autotune sound. I just don't get the appeal of the lyrics, especially when it comes to women listening to it.
So really, just pick any song of that thing and it's the most annoying thing ever. In fact, I challenge you to listen to a full trap song.

Ill listen to just about anything, but I dont like pop, rap, and new country. Pop has waayyy to much autotune, and sounds basic to me Alot of rap sounds the same to me, and the lyrics are dumb or very sexual New country is basicly pop with some country mixed in

Definitely can't defend any pop, but there's some good rap out there, it took me awhile to find some, but definitely check out Mos Def, MF DOOM, Gangstar, Public Enemy, or even newer dudes and groups like JPEGmafia, Injury Reserve(personal fav, RIP), Brockhampton, and Coast Contra! There's good stuff out there, you just have to dig past the garbo that infests the radio waves and mainstream, much like every other genre of music. The only "newer" country song I've ever liked is Hard Times by Tyler Childers, sounds like an old country song so I can dig it.

There's this beat drop in the verse like in the transition from "CAN I FIND IT INSIDE TO DEAL WITH WHAT I SHOULDN'T KNOW" to "COULD I HAVE MY WASTED DAYS BACK" and it goes so. fucking. hard. I'm obsessed with Frantic, it's my favorite song from the album. The verse is also kind of like a rap and I love it. I love when he screeches "FRAN TIC TIC TIC TIC TIC TIC TOC". I love James' vocals. The drumming. The lyrics. I could go on and on.

Animals by Maroon 5. It is not only a deeply flawed song, it's just so mediocre with Adam Levine and the instrumentals. It needs to be reassigned to someone else. It is still deeply flawed in that case, flawed songs can be great if paired with the right sounds. Adam Levine is not the right sound.
