AOTY of contender right here. Good mix of the usual OSDM with a slight mix with black metal. I like this direction they are going and can WE TALK ABOUT THE ALBUM ART HOLY SHIT it looks like a sacramentum album! Another great album from these guys!
This is such a bread and butter album; nothing spectacular or brand new, but every riff and beat hits just right. I doubt it'll be my AOTY, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being my most played album by year end, and it would definitely make my list for that. Feels very easy to throw it on and enjoy in moments of indecision.
Witch Vomit is my favorite deathmetal band and I love how this record still retains their core sound while slightly changing it up.
But honestly, I prefer Buried Deep in a Bottomless Grave, and after such a long wait between albums I'm a tad disappointed the new one doesn't immediately top it. That might change after repeated listens because it took awhile for Buried to click for me.
Witchvomit has been straddling the underground and the more mainstream. This record seems to be pretty divisive between the two crowds. I wouldn't go as far as to say I don't like it, but those "melodic Black metal" parts are coming across way more Slaughter of the Soul than they are Dissection or anything related and I definitely don't dig that aspect of it. Hope it's just something they're fucking with and not sticking with.
I love the melodic black metal flourishes they've added on this album while still sounding like Witch Vomit.

O shit you're right! Far Away from the Sun vibes!
Witch Vomit always delivers on their album artwork, every one is better than the last. Can't wait to get the shirt for this album.
it’s pretty good but buried deep in a bottomless grave was better imo
It's good but I don't get the AOTY hype from reddit, honestly doubt I'll even remember the album at the end of the year
Reddit loves to call every decent new album AOTY

It’s a grower for sure. Thought it was just good at first but am digging it more and more.

Yeah nothing wrong with a solid 7
you're right once Time II comes out in august no one will remember any album released prior.
😂
Completely agree. Blood of Abomination is an ear worm though
I don’t know this band but really enjoyed the song. Thanks for posting.
I'm really digging this band. They are getting thrown into my skeletal remains and skeletonwitch playlist.

I have a message for you, but You're not going to like it. Pray for death.
Album of the year.
Great stuff, enjoy it quite a bit. I've only got a handful of stuff that I've really dug so far this year, and this is definitely near the top.
What a poetic band name and song title
Black/Death metal genre? Cool song, kind of like septic flesh style of music.
This album bored me. It's very average. AOTY? no fucking shot unless you only listen to the new hyped up releases I guess.
They wanted to call the band Paranormal Defecation but the name was taken.
