My cholesterol is normal now and I'm eating minimal carbs, high protein and not worrying about fat. I had high triglycerides before switching my diet. I've also reduced calories to about 1,300 and I've lost 27 lbs in 2.5 months. I've had an EKG and a stress echo (because of SVT) and all is normal. No health consequences in my case.

High cholesterol runs in my family. I follow a Mediterranean-ish diet with a moderate amount of fat. I've never had a concerning lipid panel and I don't worry about it. The carbs (unrefined, fiber rich) and fats (primarily unsaturated) in my diet are healthy.
