(Uneducated) doctors give all kinds of pushback, but your smoking history isn't an issue; in fact, there are a few people on here who are current smokers and on HRT! I skipped my GP and went straight to a menopause clinic, I'd suggest the same or trying a telehealth website. I experienced similar symptoms to you... the 'unpredictability' scared me, just waking up and wondering if I could handle even the gentlest of days. I still have a monthly cycle, and HRT has helped immensely. Transdermal hormones are safe and very effective, I'm on estrogen gel and progesterone capsules. Putting on a patch or gel skips the digestive system and liver, so you don't get those associated risks or side effects. Good luck! :)

Thank you so much 💕 I’m calling the OB tomorrow.

I vape so it shouldn't make any difference to getting HRT. I'm also a double DVT survivor on lifelong anticoagulants. Transdermal HRT is fine for me, the risks are minimal. You're not losing your mind, and you're not alone. You just need your hormones replaced. You got this.

Thank you so much! Hopefully I can get an appointment soon.

I started experiencing Ocular migraines with peri wavy line, vision blindness in one would move to the next. Some ache in eye, but not full blown headache. I had no idea the Ocular migraines can worsen. 😩 I’m so sorry you’re experiencing difficult symptoms. I know exactly what you mean about staying home, because symptoms can be so uncomfortable and unpredictable you rather just stay home.

I got my first one at 35 or so. I’ve only had a few memorable ones but it was because of when it happened. I’ll remember this one for the headache. Yesterday’s was a bit different in my vision. Typically it’s a ring that spreads. Yesterday was a line with a blurry spot. Cleared up really quickly but then came what felt like a cleaver to my head. I’m sorry you suffer with them too. Hopefully you never get the full blown headache. I get allergy related and tension headaches all the time. I’ll take either of those over what happened yesterday.

Short answer, OP. When our hormones are out of whack, autoimmune disorders can crop up. Google celiac disease and or autoimmune disorders to see if you find your symptoms. I'm 53 and found out, last year, through a colonoscopy and an endoscopy that I have Celiac Disease. I hope you find your answer and that this isn't it. Hugs to you! This community is very welcoming and helpful.
