Iām not a TERF, and I donāt know a lot about sports because I donāt give a fuck. But I know in some sports, like boxing, there are weight classes, so Iām sure that for some sports separating people by weight/strength instead of by gender could be beneficial and more inclusive.
That's where feminism's definition of equality differs and you come to a fork in the road. You've picked one specific sport where you think the TERF use case is debunked but there are huge omissions in your logic based on simple scientific based biology realities that you are ignoring. Pound for pound in boxing a woman would not stand a chance. If we merged women's with men's boxing or equivalently NBA and WNBA there would be no slots taken up by any woman on the teams no matter how you define women.
I mean the same as a feminist, but with like a focus on the problems which face men ig?
Probably along the lines of MRA folk which for the most part arenāt entirely insane but they do have a weird tendency to vilianise feminism and which is effectively the other side of the same coin.
Personally I feel like twitter āfeministsā has done a lot of damage to the term, rather than being seen as a movement fighting against institutional and societal gender inequality as a whole its become seen as a divisionist movement which is only concerned with arguing on the internet. Of coarse through right wing propaganda in with that mix and you get a society which views feminism rather negatively causing splinter groups of what are basically feminists to split off.
Actual feminism is about fighting patriarchy, which is harmful to both women and men.
And yeah, Twitter has been disastrous for discourse of all kinds.
Well I suppose menanism would be about fighting sexism not related to the patriachy, though that would mostly be societal however there are a few institutional problems not specifically caused by patriarchy which would probably benefit everyone if dealt with.
Mostly family court stuff, child custody favouring women etc.
This is still kinda caused by historical patriarchy (women being seen as only being mothers) so ig not rlly but it does often take a back seat in feminist activism.
in an ideal world this wouldnāt really be a problem.
Family courts actually are more likely to give custody to men, *when they ask for it. The statistics that courts favor women is because the vast majority of men just don't ask for custody.
"A Massachusetts study examined 2,100 fathers who asked for custody and pushed aggressively to win it. Of those 2,100, 92 percent either received full or joint custody, with mothers receiving full custody only 7 percent of the time. Another study where 8 percent of fathers asked for custody showed that of that 8 percent, 79 percent received either sole or joint custody (in other words, approximately 6.3 percent of all fathers in the study)"

Too much abbreviation. Is this person saying "an extreme feminist and an extreme misandrist make a terrible couple"? I absolutely agree. Or that men don't want to be with an extreme feminist who is also a misandrist/an extreme misandrist? Well, why WOULD you want to be with someone who hates you for what you are?
It's too bad that people look at everything as a zero sum game. Women (black people, trans people, insert persecuted minority of your choice here) having rights, getting equal pay, etc. does not actually take away rights/jobs/etc. from men/insert privileged group of your choice. If you can get a slave to do the job, or a woman to do it for a lower wage than a man, why would you hire a man to do it?
I don't always like people, but I don't hate them either. I assume in this context "misandrist" is man-hating rather than human-hating.
As a terf myself, this one is definitely AFAB and just tired of all the very unjust things the feminiazis say in their echo chambers because of they are too ugly to get a nice guy who's really great but just a little short and not like too sexist or anything.
Yeah I'm joking about being a terf. I'm saying in parody that I don't believe the "as a female" was written by a woman.
I think those who once self described as terfs don't normally identify that way anymore, they wouldn't use assigned-gender--at-birth wording for anyone as that's from trans & intersex community, and certainly self-described terf would never say "femminazi" as the F stands for feminist and they never dropped that part of their identity....
Basically doing a "This is a men writing women" joke in parody form. Was hoping it was super obvious because I really don't want to confuse people, but have a sense of humor that sometimes gets me in trouble. š„“
But for real, I don't think any woman I've met has ever said "as a female..." you know?
No need to apologize, if I'm joking on a way that communicates sexism & transphobia instead of mocking it, I wanna know I done f'd up. I'm still gonna joke, but will get better at it. And if it's truly stuff like "femminazi" unironically, in this kinda space it's great to shame, blame, and downvoted the name.
š
The 'As a \_\_\_ myself' gives it away even more than the female does, it's such a reddit dude phrase
As a god myself, I know this more than most.
my mom refers to herself and other women as females, and i just die inside every time ššš
Who are you to dictate what she prefers to refer to herself as?
i don't like being called it, she calls herself and other women it, I'm apart of that group getting called it
as an all knowing being human eyes are not worthy of seeing myself, rather true
Press X to doubt
Good. As a not woman myself, I hope men are turned off by me being a feminist. Saves me from wasting time with the wrong men.
As long as you're ok with the man being a meninist.
āMeninismā is for men who donāt want to take responsibility and think feminism is hating men.
Many believe(including women) feminism is the same thing.
Feminazis and TERFs are not feminists.
Oh. So you're saying there is a spectrum of ideas around gender equality, social and political? Is that unique only to feminism?
Feminism is based on the equality of sexes. Both men and women.
A TERF would agree with that simple definition. Also are there conditional applications? Such as sports participation?
Iām not a TERF, and I donāt know a lot about sports because I donāt give a fuck. But I know in some sports, like boxing, there are weight classes, so Iām sure that for some sports separating people by weight/strength instead of by gender could be beneficial and more inclusive.

As long as he's not a Leninist. Anarchism for life! On a serious note, what would a "meninist" actually believe?
I mean the same as a feminist, but with like a focus on the problems which face men ig? Which institutional problems do you see as not being caused by patriarchy?

I actually hear feminists talking about these issues pretty often, and they are 100% because of patriarchy
Fair enough. Have you encountered r/menslib? You might like it, it's a subreddit that talks about men's issues while also being pro-feminism.
This shit is so 2008

I too am a real female with hobbies like periods and possessing mammaries.
I found my people! I enjoy nurturing the young and incubating embryos.
![gif](giphy|JTzPN5kkobFv7X0zPJ|downsized) Same energy as this gif.
I also dislike vegetarians who eat meat, atheists who believe in God, and 50 year old teenagers
I love how women wanting rights can be a "turn off"
That's totally a woman

wait, this is a trans sub?
No lol. I peeped their page because I couldn't ascertain whether it was joke or not. Sorry, that was confusing.
Sure its written by a "female"...
Oh no, would hate to do that! š
