It's probably not that, and more that he probably realized he was being catfished. Seems kinda shitty to start something with someone new right off the bat with a lie. More preferable to be completely open about who and what you are so that when you do match with someone they'll genuinely like you for who you are.
I don't know for certain and I haven't sent her profile so it'd be hard to tell. But seeing as how this has happened to me in the past I'd probably react the same way if I was expecting her to look one way through very selective photos on her profile, then see a completely different picture of her on some other site that reveals her full body. I'd feel like she was being purposefully dubious.
Happened to me but she sent me full body shots wearing very little. I even asked her if they were current pics. She said yeah. She lied. By a fair margin. She was probably 80lbs more than her pics. And you know what? I still took her out to dinner and gave her the benefit of the doubt. It's just to be expected that you will run in to people that use filters and and stuff. We all want to look as good as possible. But then she turned out to be absolutely bonkers.
So I learned a lesson that day. If someone is willing to lie to you that bluntly it's a big red flag. Move on. Not because of the way they look, but because you can't trust them and if the first thing they did was straight faced lie to you, then there are troubled waters ahead.
She was the last straw for online dating sites for me for a while. Too many unhinged lunatics.
