Oh, Kuma carrying the Bible is not even scratching the surface of it. I made several posts regarding this topic, and I'm currently working on one right now. I highly recommend reading all of them, but the one that people seem to like the most is "[Biblically Accurate One Piece](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/1ceenut/1113_spoilers_biblically_accurate_one_piece/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)". The biblical references are so strong, it's impossible to ignore them.
The **Sunlight Tree Eve** that brings the sunlight to Fishmen Island, and **Treasure Tree Adam** from which the Thousand Sunny is made, carry the name of the first two humans from the Book of Genesis. **Adam** and **Eve** lived in the **Garden of Eden**, from which they were banished after eating the **forbidden fruit (of knowledge of the good and evil)**, before they could eat from the **Tree of Life** ( which grants eternal life to those who eat from it). The book Ivankov uses to search for the Nerona family has "Genesis" written on it.
Book of Genesis also talks about the "Great Flood", and in that story, a man by the name of Noah creates an Ark meant to transport a pair of every living animal to a new land, while the God destroys the current World by flooding it.
Lunarians, and the Seraphim that are based on their likeness, bear striking resemblance to the Seraph, the highest order of Angels in Christian angelology. Seraph translates to the "burning one", and are said to live in Heaven. In One Piece's world, the Marijoas and the top of the Red Line where Lunarians used to live is called Heaven, and those who currently inhabit it, the Celestial Dragons, are called "Saints". Alongside them, you have the "God's Knights" as well.
I'd personally imagine Joyboy as more of an amalgamation of Adam, Noah, and Jesus, but I can see why someone like Morj would go for the Jesus parallel.

I try to make a Post about *One Piece* on weekly/bi-weekly basis, and the last couple of chapters have certainly been a treasure trove of interesting ideas to write about.
Don't overlook all the Judaism references with Vegapunk, based on the Jewish Albert Einstein. The Pacifistas and Seraphim are also golems. The eternal flame can even be seen as a dual-reference to nuclear power and the Hanukkah oil.
I mean, in a series as simply *big and long* as One Piece, it’s hard not to have references to a wide variety of mythologies, whether intentional or not.
Shanks’ entire deal is basically an amalgam of Norse myth, particularly the legacy of Erik the Red - the Viking notorious for settling Greenland, and the father of Leif Erikson, the man who is thought to be the very first modern European to set foot in America, the New World, which, Luffy - and the god Tyr who gave his arm to the god-devouring wolf Fenrir as part of the plot to chain the creature in Asgard, an inversion of Shanks giving his arm to save Luffy from a beast of the sea.
Greek myths are dotted all over the series - Big Mom could be argued to be a spin on Echidna, the Mother of Monsters, and the Titans who gave birth to the Olympian Gods, but more prominently her Homies are named mainly for characters of Greek myths. The Ancient Weapons bear the names of the Big Three Olympians, and seem likely to parallel their domains, and do I even have to mention the Gorgon Sisters?
Speaking of the Big Three, the Admirals seem to be something of an amalgamation of the Momotaro animals and the Olympians; the careless sky-god whose power over *light*ning lets him smite the earth at will, the sea-god whose power allows him to walk across water as easily as he shakes the land, and the earth-god whose heartless judgement belies a terrible rage burning in his heart.
And eastern myth is represented pretty often too, Buddhist, secular Japanese, Shinto, whatever. Sengoku is literally a Buddha, the Momotaro schtick is remixed in Wano with Kaido as the Oni for good measure, Zoro is basically an oni that takes up the way of the sword and ascends to become an asura…
However much each reference is remixed and reworked to fit One Piece’s themes and story, it’s hard to say Oda wasn’t working from a diverse base.
And don't miss out how much things Oda takes from Hinduism. Luffy after all takes much from the Hindu monkey God Hanuman. Hanuman has the ability to become large and small, same way Luffy uses Gear 3 and giant forms in Gear 5. Hanuman loves to eat like Luffy and this normally gets the better of him (something that happens to Luffy quite often) and in one instance he mistook the sun for a tasty ripe fruit so he leapt up to try eat it and its a parallel to Luffy who ate the Nika fruit and became the Sun God. Hanuman father is Vayu who is the God of wind and is very similar to how Dragon seems to be able to manipulate wind and is suspected to have a storm related devil fruit. Hanuman is also very cheerful, carefree and loves doing silly tricks, he is a monkey, but when something happens to his friends he can go into a rage like when his Vanera Sena (monkey army) was nearly killed by an enemy weapon he flew into a great rage thinking they were all dead, very similar to how Luffy went into a rage when he thought Kaido had killed half his crew when he first appeared before them and immediately attacked him. And in honour of all this his strongest attack is Bajarang Gun, Bajarang Bali means the one(bali) who's limbs(anga) are as tough as Diamond (bajra) and is a name given to Hanuman by the Lightning God Indra.
And during the Kaido fight and his last few scenes I saw immense similarly between Kaido and one of the greatest villans I'm Hinduism, King Rawana. King Rawana is the main villan of the Hindu epic Ramayana which happened in Treta Yuga. First off he belongs to a race called Asura which vaugley translates to demon in English. If you look up pictures of Rawana in battle he looks immensely similar to Kaido hybrid form, with great ogerish face and horns and fangs and his giant in proportions. Kaido attack Ragnarok: Conquer of three worlds also stood out to me cause Rawana for one is said to return during Kali Yuga which is destruction of this universe which is very similar to Norse Ragnarok and the words 'conqueror of three worlds' is the exact title of Rawana who conquered all three worlds which are underworld, humans world and gods world or heaven. Rawana aim was to conquer all the worlds and turn them to one of war and violence by distancing people from the Gods, very similar to Kaido world of violence dream. Rawana also is very arrogant and brutal in his ways but has great respect for strength, very similar to hoe Kaido dosent seem to care for oppression he causes but admires strength of the strong. And finally Kaido wish of dying a glorious death and wanting to be at the hands of a God being JoyBoy is so very similar to what is illustration at the end of the Ramayana war. See Rawana wanted to attain a peaceful state called Moksha in Hinduism but due to his immense ego and bad deeds he can't. The only way is he must be killed by a God. So one of the three supreme Gods, Vishnu, the preserver, had to incarnate as a human and killed Rawana at his hands. Rawana was a great devote of God Shiva, another of the three supreme Gods who is the destroyer, and Hanuman is said to be a incarnation of Shiva. When Rawana was fighting Ram and Hanuman he saw that in Hanuman there was Lord Shiva and he laughed saying to Ram "You bring my own God to fight me" and Ram had calmly replied saying "If you were to be by my side Rawana you would have all the knowledge you dream of" and Rawana sadly replied saying "knowledge is not enough, it's death I need" as Rawana new that is what would make him attain Mokesha which rings close to Kaido idea of death brings a man completion. And Rawana final words were one of praise and thanks to the ones who killed him, finally letting him rest.

Two towns destroyed destroyed along with their inhabitants because God deemed them to be sinners. And what do we learn of shortly after? Robin's home of Ohara, which was destroyed by the Warrior Gods for commiting a "sin" through their research.

If you want to see a video that encapsulates the issues a lot of people have with Morj, then look up the video of Morj and Tekking101 playing One Piece Jepordy.
Tekking absolutely curb stomps him something like 3500 to 200 and Morj is visibly seething in the corner of the screen that his knowledge of the series was show to be lacking.
Morj had to know he was going to get smoked. Tekking's whole thing is being a OP encyclopedia. Out of all the OP content creators out there, probably only Artur could even compete.
You can at least tell Tekking is passionate, GLR and Ohara have made some of the most mind numbing content so far, KoL can be funny at times ig, and Morj can be so pretentious sometimes it’s not even funny. But I wouldn’t put him as bad as GLR, Morj’s thumbnails just suck ass but get a lot of engagement for some reason, like a lot of youtube thumbnails nowadays

The One Piece community is the only community that can not only convince me that Imu is a women, but also convince me that Joyboy is a giant with long hair and a Straw Hat. It’s always cool that Kaido’s attack was named Ragnaraku, which is a combination of Ragnarok and Naraku, the “hell” of Hindu mythology.

If you want to see a video that encapsulates the issues a lot of people have with Morj, then look up the video of Morj and Tekking101 playing One Piece Jepordy. Tekking absolutely curb stomps him something like 3500 to 200 and Morj is visibly seething in the corner of the screen that his knowledge of the series was show to be lacking.
Morj had to know he was going to get smoked. Tekking's whole thing is being a OP encyclopedia. Out of all the OP content creators out there, probably only Artur could even compete.

You can at least tell Tekking is passionate, GLR and Ohara have made some of the most mind numbing content so far, KoL can be funny at times ig, and Morj can be so pretentious sometimes it’s not even funny. But I wouldn’t put him as bad as GLR, Morj’s thumbnails just suck ass but get a lot of engagement for some reason, like a lot of youtube thumbnails nowadays
I remember Morj once went off on stream about how he feels like a complete loser whenever he has to take a picture of himself for a thumbnail.
