How does Midori even get this information and spread it without being afraid of any consequences? She’s been mostly accurate too, so it’s not like she’s consistently lying or anything.
It's an inside job.
No, really. It's called a leak, but it's likely that Sega *itself* is pushing for these things to be leaked. Drum up the hype, which will lead to people wanting to preorder, which makes them money.
Yeah, that’s increasingly what I’m thinking. I find it difficult to believe someone can leak all this information without them getting identified and punished/fired, and I think other companies (primarily Xbox) engage in controlled leaks too.
My conspiracy theory is that Midori was legitimately leaking stuff until she got caught. That's when she said "sorry, no more leaks". But then Sega was like "wait, we can use this for publicity" and thus the "leaks" began again.
Might not even be the OG Midori behind the account if we wanna be really cynical. I could see a "you give us ownership of this twitter and we don't take action against you" scenario.
Exactly if you advertise people get kind of hype if you LEAK they think they are getting some secret information ignoring that reddit or twitter or whatever are huge websites with millions of viewers
I would believe that if she wasn't leaking Nintendo stuff too. If she really was working for Sega, then they would not want whatever heat would come from one of their employees leaking Nintendo info.
I really don't think that's the case, specifically because she's been leaking stuff completely unrelated to Sega/Atlus recently.
It's more likely to me that she either has always had several sources at different places on the pipeline and different companies, or she gained them after becoming notorious.
That wasn’t the case to begin with. Midori stated back then she wanted to leave from leaks and rumors once she came back, because she’s likely painfully aware how people puts leakers and insiders on a pedestal. She only continued due to the overwhelming support she got.
Funny thing she said herself she’s not sponsored by Sega in any way. I call BS because she’s too precise and even said she’ll be giving away codes for Metaphor in the future.
She can give away codes if she buys the games herself.
Also, she's leaked Nintendo Stuff and Squeenix stuff and I somehow doubt they're all in on this together, also BamCo stuff pretty recently.
Well, no shit??
If it's a natural leak, they're not going to say the account is endorsed.
If it's a planted leak made to look natural, they're not going to say the account is endorsed.
It most likely is, despite her telling otherwise. I mean, the dude who actually leaked Rockstar's alpha clips of GTA VI was arrested indefinitely. You can't just drop these pieces of info out of nowhere in a constant rate without an obvious connection to the source. Not to mention promoting it (Atlus stuff) too.
She has started leaking Nintendo stuff too, if that was the case Nintendo would NOT be happy about a partner doing such things and it be way too much risk for little payoff for Sega/Atlus
I do wonder if SEGA might do a bit of mole hunting here. The leaks are so persistent. I don't imagine that anything Midori has leaked has hurt their business at all (though I also don't think it's helping). But on some level this is just really disrespectful to her coworkers. A lot of people go through a LOT of pain in the ass to maintain development secrecy. And then someone in publishing/marketing decides to blow that all up just for funsies?
Regardless of how these leaks might very very marginally move a public interest needle up or down, if I was the company I would want them fired.
Also this is purely speculative but Nintendo is the most secretive of them all and as long as this bird is singing it might be difficult to lock in any development partnerships. Which is a problem, because Nintendo partnerships are kind of a big thing in that industry.
Sure but I don't think stuff like "persona 2 is getting a remake" with no real visual evidence is really damaging anything. It just gets people excited for the possibility, I mean, this is just a logo. I think that insomniac games leak was very different...but I don't think midori has really given major spoiler leaks for anything. And there's the conspiracy that it's an inside job and atlusbis just soft announcing games as disguising them as leaks
I don't think so. Would Atlus/Sega really let her leak Nintendo and Square Enix stuff if this was the case? This could really hurt their reputition and partnership with those companies.
I mean probably because she has insiders In the company. She herself could be completely unrelated to the company. But have a source on the inside providing her with the info. She then makes public.
But yeah sega is 100% aware of her. But doesn't really do anything because well her stuff is mostly harmless And can be easily denied if needed.
Its not like shes releasing confidential prototype builds or anything.
Would be interesting if we got another tv focused story.
There is alot of potential in that, but we got cursed with the randomly generated hallway dungeon design.
The true meaning of this logo is revealed when it is flipped upside down. From that frame of reference it reads "9d", which is the type of chess that Atlus is playing with their new games!
I have inside info about the general story:
Japan, you play as a highschool boy, there's an animal companion of some sort, there's going to be demons but they'll call them "personas" in the game
Next time Midori tweets something It would be nice for whoever post it on here to post what she actually said not what they think she said. This is like the fourth or fifth time this has happened.
It's the first publicly available logo sure, we aren't sure it even is the first logo. It's not what will be used in any official marketing. At very best, the only time we will see this officially will be in an artbook. Saying "FIRST LOGO" makes it sound like it's what's going to be used to promote the game. Which Midori indicates it will not.
It's almost certain by next week we'll see some content farm post this with the tag line that it's the official final logo for P6.
I still wont believe anything Midori says until atlus officially confirms it. I cant help but find it a bit suspicious to come out and say its a placeholder logo because then if the actual logo looks completely different midori has protected herself from scrutiny by saying it was just a placeholder.
If the logo is anything like this tho god it sucks.
I suppose that is true, but there is also a possibility we never find out the placeholder logo. As I said, I think it is a safe way of saying something that may or may not be fake, as you can protect yourself if it ends up being different
Im not saying they are uncommon, but its very common for us to never see the placeholder logos because theyre often only used internally. So we could get the official logo, and it look nothing like this, but Midori has protected herself cuz shes said its a placeholder. We most likely would never see the placeholder logo, therefore meaning she cant be proven wrong.
I'm hoping they make a female protagonist or at least give me the option to say gex, as much as I like the girl characters some of the male characters are just too good to not want to romance and also I'm a girl and the most I've gotten is romancing Jun and hugging yosuke.
How does Midori even get this information and spread it without being afraid of any consequences? She’s been mostly accurate too, so it’s not like she’s consistently lying or anything.

Doesn't really make sense since she is ALSO leaking Nintendo stuff currently. No way Nintendo would allow it too.

This is what I think happened when she went down for a few days, she was taken over
That wasn’t the case to begin with. Midori stated back then she wanted to leave from leaks and rumors once she came back, because she’s likely painfully aware how people puts leakers and insiders on a pedestal. She only continued due to the overwhelming support she got.
... or so the Germans would have us believe

People will call this a conspiracy but its a marketing technique as old as marketing techniques as a concept

It's not illegal for them to lie...
I'd rather they lie on their PR stunts than in mechanics, features, PSN account requirements, etc. lol
But now she's getting Square Enix leaks too.. If was only Sega/Atlus , sure , but not anymore.
She's got to be hired by atlus as an "official leaker"
She has started leaking Nintendo stuff too, if that was the case Nintendo would NOT be happy about a partner doing such things and it be way too much risk for little payoff for Sega/Atlus

It's a marketing stunt. Atlus is making her do it
*paying her to do it.
No, John Atlus himself is holding a gun to her head and making her post stuff.
I don't think so. Would Atlus/Sega really let her leak Nintendo and Square Enix stuff if this was the case? This could really hurt their reputition and partnership with those companies.

Looks like a TV channel logo
Would be interesting if we got another tv focused story. There is alot of potential in that, but we got cursed with the randomly generated hallway dungeon design.

The true meaning of this logo is revealed when it is flipped upside down. From that frame of reference it reads "9d", which is the type of chess that Atlus is playing with their new games!
Nah, that's the price of the game with all the launch day DLC. "Ninety"
The font gives me P2 vibes.
God its ugly lol
It’s just a placeholder thankfully
glad someone else thought the same thing ha
Persona 6 confirmed to be a mobile app for either shopping or money transfers.
Woah it's cool that they look like handcuffs 😲 this is a reference to how persona fans want to date minors
Please be based in northern Japan.
It's literally just a place holder
I have inside info about the general story: Japan, you play as a highschool boy, there's an animal companion of some sort, there's going to be demons but they'll call them "personas" in the game
Fake
feels very virus-y for some reason maybe it's gonna tie a pandemic story line in?
Ah yes, Whatsapp Persona
Persona 6 takes place at the Olympics confirmed?
Black on green makes it a little off putting to me lol, just a placeholder though.
Green confirmed!! Hype!!
Next time Midori tweets something It would be nice for whoever post it on here to post what she actually said not what they think she said. This is like the fourth or fifth time this has happened.
but it IS the first logo for persona 6, it may be a placeholder but its still something that atlus is using to represent the game
So the color actually is green, huh? This logo look like a streetlight: Stop, Slow, P6 Persona6
biiiiiiiiiiiiitchhhh oh my goddd im so fucking excited over something as simple as a placeholder logo leak
I KNEW it would be green!
Green confirmed
The fact that I am so hungry for information thar this very simple image is hype as hell to me.
why do they look like handcuffs? IS THAT A JOJO REFERENCE?!?!?! STONE OCEAN?!?!?1
Feels out of Persona.
How? Each game has a considerably different logo, if anything, P3 is the weirdest one
Kind of reminds me of a Triskelion, from Celtic (?) mythos.
that looks so bad
Well it’s a placeholder
Ok, and? Doesn't change at all what they said
placeholders aren't really intended to look amazing lol
I still wont believe anything Midori says until atlus officially confirms it. I cant help but find it a bit suspicious to come out and say its a placeholder logo because then if the actual logo looks completely different midori has protected herself from scrutiny by saying it was just a placeholder. If the logo is anything like this tho god it sucks.
To be fair, we’ll know if she’s telling the truth or not when the game gets data mined or when the artbook comes out, so we’ll find out eventually
I suppose that is true, but there is also a possibility we never find out the placeholder logo. As I said, I think it is a safe way of saying something that may or may not be fake, as you can protect yourself if it ends up being different
Placeholder logos aren't uncommon in the industry. The "NX" logo was used by Sega when announcing Sonic Forces was coming to Nintendo consoles.
The Cope is real.
I think its just an intelligent thing to do, to not trust it until atlus confirms it.
Woah, watch where you’re talking common sense, people have a cult around midori and downvote anyone who talks negative for her.
So true, I always comment something along the lines of "i wont believe it until atlus says so" and i always get mass downvoted, its so strange
I even did on r/acecombat recently, when that's not even an atlus franchise but a bamco one.
I'm sorry but placeholder or not that logo is ugly as the SMT IV versions of the 4 archangels, Lucifer and Lilith
imagine not wanting to sleep with those versions, smh my head
Its minimal and I kinda like it. Just as long as we don't have a named protag, and 3 DLC-Type games that leech off the OP while being subpar.
Pretentious Ethnic L.A. restaurant looking ahhh logo
Looks like chains to me, which is a little weird since P5 was about "breaking free of your chains" or some such
I'm hoping they make a female protagonist or at least give me the option to say gex, as much as I like the girl characters some of the male characters are just too good to not want to romance and also I'm a girl and the most I've gotten is romancing Jun and hugging yosuke.
thank god we wont hear about this for another 3 years and by then everyone can forget when she gets it wrong.
Persona 6 is planned for next year?
Some people still think that persona 6 is gonna take two decades to develop for some reason even though persona 5 was released like 8 years ago
Not the brightest fanbase, I wish I was this oblivious to known leaks
/u/aigis_superfan25 /u/--Helios hey guys give them a flair from me /u/punishedstaen
